Well it finally happened I’m more on GAF then actually playing game.

With my big family it's harder and harder to have time to play and when the kids are asleep I'm dead. So I don't feel like playing. Thx god for GAF 👍
Play a turned based RPG, adventure / point a click, visual novel, or maybe a slower strategy game.

I do that when I want to relax.

I usually don't have much time to play during the week. But when I can play I do. I used to play while I was doing in door bike. Spending time here and gaming all day everyday is insane.

We are way too involved with our kids. Just have your kids in the room while you are playing. no need to wait for them to go to sleep.

If they are making too much noise, kick them out and tell them to go in their rooms.

I understand kids can be very attention hungry, but they should be glad we are in the house. They will be alright if we arent constantly hanging out with them.

Same to be honest.

I'm addicted to GAF. I do stupid things like check the forum while in line at the checkout, and because in that moment I don't have time to do a serious post, I'll just shitpost something stupid and laugh to/at myself.

It's because we are all chasing our youthful joy of videogames, blaming everything and everyone except ourselves for not enjoying games as much. It can't be our fault and we find community to affirm it.

Welcome to the club. Soon you'll grow more cynical and develop a perverse enjoyment of talking shit about games. Outrage and scandals will become your soul food. Holding an actual controller will be a distant memory.

Should I send you my paypal address so that you can give me the old Steam treatment for the endless entertainment I provide you?

I can only play a couple of hours at night but i post on gaf from work so i'm never gonna be able to play more vg than shittalk on gaf if i physically try in a 24 hours span.

All jokes aside, children are only small once, then they grow up and don't want to hang around with you. I'm enjoying the reciprocal attention while it lasts.

I lurk and post here while at work. Can't do the same with videogames unfortunately.

My problem is that as of late I've been developing this ADHD shit where I can't stay focused in a game for more than an hour without having a look at the phone, which usually leads me to GAF. It sucks, and it's something I'm trying to fix but it ain't easy.

In any case, I've been spending way more time working on my game than actually playing games. Shit's just too fun, and feels like less of a waste of time.

I'm 38, have a family, and I'm playing more than I ever have. Now that my kid is 11, we play a lot of games together too.

So far this year I've played through:

  • God of War Ragnarok
  • Control
  • Spider-Man 2
  • Split Fiction
  • The Plucky Squire
  • Resistance: Fall of Man
  • The Last of Us: Part II

Making my way through South of Midnight now.

Best hobby ever!

I can relate. I started leaving my phone in the kitchen or just far away when playing games, and that helped. If it's in arm's reach, it's hopeless.
