He once said playing Metal Gear Solid 5 would be '60 hours of humiliation,' but Snake actor David Hayter finally played the game: 'All is forgiven'

who needs him, MGSV was the only good one in the entire series.
Dude, you don't understand what an absolute cosmic mindfuck it was going from a Sega Genesis playing your little 2D platformers straight into Metal Gear Solid on PlayStation. It was pure military grade magic. The older titles might not seem like much but man they blew the fucking doors off.

MGSV is also awesome, though.

Had no idea David Hayter was such a bitch

I like Hayter a lot in the old games but the swap didn't really bother me. MGSV is still my favorite in the series. That being said, if I were Hayter, I'd be fucking pissed and I totally get it.

David Hayter is awesome, but he reminds me of my uncle that thinks because he plays the guitar at local shows he's some sort of rockstar. Like loves his own brand when he lets one rip in public.

P.S. - A little ego death goes a long way.

he's glad he was not a part of the mess that is mgsv.

Non sensical story. Repetitive missions. Awful gunplay. Stupid AI. Also fox engine can't handle more than 12 enemies at once.

Hot take: Keifer would have worked if they had simply let David Hayter voice the spoiler character that you find out about around the end of the game.

This was the end of the saga anyway so there was no need to fully cut him out for a couple of voice lines.

Didn't care much for him after mgs2. His voice began to grate and sound more camp as the series went on.

Wish they used Keith properly but mgs5 turned out to be a terrible game.

And David turned into a bitch.

I don't know, for me he always comes across as very passionate about the role of Snake. He is a fan of the games and he knows that many players love him in that role. And he cares for that character.
It's like Troy Baker. He often starts crying when talking about his characters, especially Joel.
On the other hand, when you hear Hollywood actors talk about a role in a videogame, it's usually just a job for them.
Yeah but the company is not obligated to hire him, it's not a betrayal, should stop with this dramas queen attitude.

So what you're saying is he likes to get high off his own farts? Did he pick that up from kojima or did kojima out fart him.

It was kinda nice hearing snake talking in a regular voice. It was also refreshing to have the game not talk much at all. The game was great because it was a blast to play. Interesting way to have the series go out. Though technically it's delta now

love Kojima but making that selfish decision it's something that i will never forgive. ok i get it why Venom is not the real Big Boss but why mantain the JP voice?

I am 38 years old. I was indeed amazed by the game when it first came out from a technical standpoint, but i play games for an interactive experience not to watch a movie or read a novel

Somehow reading this Im justified in my thinking that is a utterly dogshitgame and by very very far the worst game in the series... because if anyone truly thinks this is the only "good one" it means its really different from the others.
If you want to watch a movie then watch a movie, if you want to play a video game play a video game. This is something that Hideo Kojima, kneal druckman, and 1000 other pretenders in the gaming industry sadly don't understand.
