No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
I'm out in CA for business this week, so I got to treat myself to some In-N-Out, which is one of my favorite fast food joints. I don't make a habit of eating fast food, but I was trying to figure out what my favorite was. It's probably between In-N-Out and Taco Bell.

Got me wondering what GAF's favorites are. Apologies if most of these are American-only chains.

What's your favorite?

Whataburger for burgers, Chick-Fil-A for chicken. Sadly many of these places either have horribly slow service now, lame kiosks, or pricey, cold food.

I used to live in Alabama - and I still have wet dreams about eating at Checkers

Nearest location to where I live now is about a 10 hour drive

This aligns to my interest fer sure. Prime Wendy's used to be my number 1 but gotta say now its a toss up between in n out and popeyes. I love fried chicken and popeyes the best fast food fried chicken we got in my area. Don't care for in n outs fries but those burgers are top tier at that price point.

We have a burger chain here called Burger Street that I really like. Giant burgers, curly fries and big shakes. It's always made to order so it takes a few minutes, but it always tastes great.

A few months ago I would've said Culver's no contest. But for whatever reason they, or at least the one I used to eat at, changed their pickles. Dunno if the change was from their own product or their supplier but they're closer to a cucumber than a pickle. And while I don't hate cucumbers, I sure as shit don't want them on my burger or chicken sandwich. That single thing completely ruined it for me.

Sonic is pretty solid.

Culver's makes a slightly better burger than Five Guys though both are really solid at the end of the day, but when it comes to fries, it's no contest, Culver's fries are just good while Five Guys' fries are excellent. So of the available options in my area (no In N Out, Whataburger, etc), Five Guys takes the win.

Popeyes when the food is actually good. Quality is sadly very inconsistent. I don't eat fast food much anymore so it kind of sucks that it's such a crap shoot.

I don't even know more than half of them listed.

McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Subway and if you're lucky Taco Bell & Five Guys are the only ones I see back in NL.
In NL I just go for Burger King if I crave fast food, just because it's the nearest one.

And in Norway there's only McDonalds and Burger King nearby, but it's never on route to my destination, so I never went. There's a Max Burger in Oslo, which is kinda nice. I believe it's Swedish from origin.

Hero Burger has solid burger combos at a reasonable price. You can add an egg on top for $1.

Only problem is they make the food fresh. That's good for quality, but bad for timing. Takes forever to get your food and going out to lunch can be a pain if you need to race back to the office.

If you ever go into one and see there's 4-5 other people milling around waiting for their food, dont bother. Leave and go elsewhere. You'll be waiting 20 min for your combo. The places are always understaffed. Each one I've been in has never more than two people working there. 1 cashier, 1 cook.

Burger King

I don't know about your country but in mine, I can have a very good meal for EUR 10, which doesn't translate well with other chains (especially Five Guys where I need to spend at least 25 to have something decent)

Chick-fil-A has consistently good food and service, I don't think I've ever had a bad meal or experience there.
The owner of the franchise close to my house comes in regularly to eat at my breakfast joint, he says buying into the franchise was the best financial decision he ever made. Dude tips $20 for breakfast every time, I love that guy.

Wendy's. You have to pony up for the "Dave's Single" instead of just the regular burgers, but it's the most consistently good burger I've had in the usual places. Also the Chili is decent if a bit watery, and the ghost pepper ranch sauce is good with the nuggets.

Where most fast food is consolidating their menus, I appreciate that Wendy's has different stuff you can get depending on your mood.

I'm still mad that Jack in the Box got rid of the Mini-Chimi-Bang-Bangs and their Nashville hot stuff, which was amazing.

None. I don't eat anything in the poll. If you put a gun to my head, I guess I'd eat a spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy's or some McDonald's hashbrowns.

I eat fast food a LOT (multiple times a week every week) and my vote is McDonalds. Their consistency and value is above and beyond other chains. My breakfast is under $4 with the app there if I get an Egg McMuffin + Sausage McMuffin. Quality consistency for these is about 97%. Insane.

Likewise, my lunch there is under $6 with fhe app as I'll get a Cheeseburger, McChicken, and a McDouble. Their consistency for lunch is less, at about 89% which is still quite high. Sometimes I get a burnt cheeseburger bun or a mcchicken with too much mayo.

Honorable mention to Arbys. Love getting their roast beef sandwiches and cheese sticks. But they are pricy.

Wendy's for me -- but it wasn't an easy choice. Ultimately, Wendys has a few great different options (baconator? Solid. spicy chicken sandwich? top tier. Frosty? Excellent. Spicy nugs? Best in the game) -- I like certain ITEMS better at other places (except the nugs) -- but all in, Wendy's beats out any other competition in my book

Well when it was around me I would have said Flamer's grill, but we don't have those anymore. These days pretty much either Mooyah or Wayback for burgers and Chick-Fil-A for chicken. Oh and for pizza it'd be Pizzeria Regina. (That's a local one btw.)

Five Guys

Taco Bell is the more convenient alternative

Chick fil A food is massively overrated but their lemonade is the bomb

Out of all these we only have McD, BK, KFC, Subway in my neck of the woods (Eastern Europe) but I rarely visit any them the past decade or so. That said, I still regret I walk past In-N-Out without trying their stuff when I was in SF ten years ago. If it was good enough for Anthony Bordain, it probably would have been good enough for me.

You guys in the US get so many awesome looking fast food joints.

I dont think we get here (unless maybe there's some locations in other provinces):

Carls
Jack in Box
Del Taco
Checkers
White Castle
Sonic
Culvers
Raising Cane
Big Boy
.... and tons of great looking pizza chains Ive seen on the net, and that crazy ass gas station place Buckees.

And as a bonafide pig, all those buffets I've seen on TV or the net too. Always wanted to try Golden Corral. lol

I really like Tezikis and 5 Guys. I would call Tezikis quick service dining. 5 guys overpriced burgers.
