What are some good beat em up games on Xbox? Last week I played 9 Monkeys of Shaolin with my youngest nephew for the second time we finished it too, great fun.

Later this week my oldest nephew will be here and I’m wondering if any of you know about some (lesser) known beat em up games?

I know about Battletoads, Streets of Rage, Castle Crashers, and a few others. Man I wish Towerborne was out now. Even if I search beat em up in the store some titles won't be found.

I don't know if you have already played TMNT Shredder's Revenge, but it is fantastic, highly recommended.

Scott Pilgrim one was fun. Bud Spencer & Terence Hill: Slaps and Beans is cute if you grew up watching and loving their stupid movies.

Deathrow was a lot of fun. It doesn't qualify as a beat-em-up, but it does feature a lot of beating up. It's an old one, an original Xbox exclusive.

A few older titles : D&D Chronicles of Mystara, Guardian Heroes (bc 360), Capcom beat em up bundle. I think there's a couple double dragon games.

Mother Russia bleeds is a good one but I'm not sure if that ever made its way to Xbox.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Thanks ya'll,

We should be able to find something good there.

I know it recently got de-listed, but if you can get a hold of the Sega Genesis Classics, it has 50~ Genesis era games with a lot of couch co-op beat em ups like all 3 Golden Axe, Streets of Rage etc in them, if you want to show your nephew the classics.

Dungeons and Dragons is pretty great. Similar to Golden Axe but better imo.

If you have the time and know how, i'd install dev mode on your xbox. Install openBoR, and download a bunch of openBoR games.
There's a He-man one that's incredible. https://gamejolt.com/games/he-man/19434

I’d HIGHLY recommend phantom breaker battlegrounds

And of course guardian heroes

The 360 game is gone but I now see there's a demo of a brand new one called Ultimate and it's planned for a February release.
River City Girls

Back when I was a kid I played that game, but that was on a modded SNES, sheesh this takes me back!

I'm gonna check some sites and maybe I get lucky with a key! What a shame such cool stuff gets delisted.

Ahhh I didn’t realise it had been delisted I bought it back in the 360 days. Shame as it’s really good!

Ended up buying River City Girls and River City Girls Zero. Awesome games. Zero was great for nostalgia because I played that in Japanese as a kid with my brother and the new one is especially great because of new moves you can learn and just a lot more depth than most beat em ups, I feel.

Also decided to give Asterix & Obelix : Slap them all 1 and 2 a chance but these are basic and repetitive as hell. Words spoken by Asterix get repeated way, way too often, beyond annoying and there just isn't much else than yeah, slapping suckers around. Also bought Scott Pilgrim for a very nice price. Keeping that for the next time my nephews come over.

Get Fight 'n Rage, TMNT Schreier's Revenge, Mother Russia Bleeds, Scott Pilgrim, and the compilation of classics Capcom Beat 'em up Bundle.

Midnight Fight Express is a very very good game, I wish I had more time to replay all of the levels. There's definitely an incentive for that and it also helps that much like Hotline Miami everything happens without unnecessary delays. You can immediately restart the action if you die or mess something up and the levels aren't very long (minus a few involving mid-boss encounters).

The soundtrack is also superb, anything thing it's doing right like the Miami games.

Too Human, I really don't understand the hate on this game, it's unrealistic imo

The Darkness 2

Mirror's Edge, I'm listing xbox bc games

Doom 64

Metal Gear Rising

The Quarry, but it's incomplete

Duke Nukem Forever, I don't understand the hate, if you're an original fan then the chances you're unbiased are highly unlikely

Crypt of the Serpent King Remastered Edition, too short

Immortals of Aveum, it's one of those games that people will give shit but too late, it doesn't matter for me as long you like it

Godfall Ultimate Edition, new game with new graphics but with old school shmups style, it's special.

Maybe dynasty warriors. That's kinda like a modern 3d take on the old 2d beat em up genre. All the good ones have been mentioned. There's also a couple of cartoon network or adult swim based games but they were mediocre.
