The Zombies 'Odessey and Oracle' is most certainly one of pop music's greater peaks. Have you checked out The Zombies Singles A's and B's Cool? That would make a great companion piece.

Corn Mo - "The Magic Is You!"

Think of an absurdist Meat Loaf with an accordion and you've got Corn Mo. I saw him open for They Might Be Giants Monday, purchased his CD at the show, and have been listening to him compulsively since then. Check out "Lollipop" if you don't believe me.

I've also been wallowing in this particular old school double feature:

Yeah, I know this isn't healthy. But I just can't help it.

No, I haven't, I guess I should. I'm just really overwhelmed with Oddesey and Oracle. I honestly sometimes feel that it is a better album than both Pet Sounds or Abbey Road or really anything the Beatles have done. Like, so, I mean maybe THEE best album of all time.

I pretty much listen to any music when I'm studying or working on an essay. It can be anything from Sim City 3000 sountrack, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Chemical Brothers, Lost in Translation soundtrack, or Classic Yo-Yo.

Classic Yo-Yo is a favourite when I really need to concentrate.

This is the 22-minute version of the song SFA has been closing their shows off with for a couple years. It's intense, it's fun, and it's long. I really love listening to this because it's just really nice.

Yeah, not much else right now. I want to check out the Brian Wilson album soon, as well as the new Interpol.

Awesome, I saw TMBG on Tuesday at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC. Corn Mo did kick a serious amount of ass. His cover of "We Are The Champions" with the motivational speech in the middle was brilliant. We were thinking he was a mix of Meat Loaf and Jack Black who talked a lot like Towlie.

As for what I'm listening to -

Neil Young - Decade
Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News (radio version, not the album version *grrrr*)
Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People
Morrissey - You Are The Quarry

That would work, too. I saw him at the Lincoln in Raleigh, NC Monday and was completely blown away. He did "We Are The Champions" there as well and people were rioting in the aisles. Corn Mo is truth.

Edit: Corn Mo's website is back up.

you fuckin' rock. nice selections...though I don't like that Used cd all that much.
It's thanks to you I discovered the awesomeness that is Atreyu. :) I was then recommended From Autumn to Ashes by a friend when she found out I liked Atreyu.

I haven't gone through the new The Used album more than twice, but I do know that the first couple of tracks are pretty rockin'. I can't say whether or not I am going to enjoy it as much as their previous CD, but it's all good as I get to see them live with Taking Back Sunday and Fallout Boy here at my school in two weeks. :D

The Prodigy--Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned

-1 for losing the guy who yells I'M A FIRESTARTER! TWISTED FIRESTARTER! But +1 for Juliette Lewis on several tracks, sounding like Mallory Knox--I've never liked her much as an actress, but somehow her presence on this album works. And +1 for guest appearances by Princess Superstar and Kool Keith.

The best album I've bought in the past year. Absolutely brilliant from beginning to end.

I bought this back when it came out and didn't listen to it much, but for the past two weeks it's been my morning commute CD.
