What are your thoughts on low reviews for a job?

I am applying for new jobs and I see some that have like 3 stars with bad reviews, sometimes with less than 100 reviews or other times much more. What are your thoughts on this and how much should I take them serious? Should I apply anyways or there might legitimately be something there?

Take them seriously but remember people are more likley to be spiteful and leave a negative review if they have been fired. Read what they say, don't just look at the stars.
True that. Most leaving negative reviews on jobs are those who sucked at it and got fired. The new thing had been checking out admin profiles on LinkedIn. Recruiting may not be too interesting but typically a manager will step in for a follow up interview. A manager's resume says words more than a review of the company.

The same thing I think about reviews for restaurants and games. Unreliable. Subjective. Often based on luck and circumstance, personal habit and behaviors. What might bother that person might not bother you at all, and vice versa.

Most places I've worked hover in the large mediocre chunk of the spectrum. Some good, some bad, always tiring as fuck. If you're hard working, well mannered, and keep your head down you'll mostly likely be ok anywhere. I know there are people who think highly of themselves, like to talk shit and gossip, and are petty about the smallest shit. Those people tend to write bad reviews. Truly awful places to work are few and far in between, and the same for truly enjoyable ones. All the advice in this thread is sound: read the reviews, try it out, etc.

Depends on how pervasive the pattern of negativity is and if the problems are consistent in various reviews. If that's the case, then I usually take thier word for it.

This.

Pay attention during the recruitment process, ask to speak with your future team members, not only with your manager.
