It reminded me of Dandadan

Our hobby is under attack as usual.

It was the same when I was a child 30 years ago and everyone hated videogames and gamers. Now they try to destroy games from within game development.

They will fail because they understand nothing.

This studio has made some of the most acclaimed games of all time, some of the most polished and incredibly successful ones

What about this trailer indicates a hatred of video games, players or anything else exactly?

I dont get this mindset.

Well all those comments are on point. I think gamers have had enough of unattractive women acting like tough men in video games. You don't have to make a woman ugly or bald to make them look tough or have them be lesbian. You can have a straight attractive tough woman in video game. These woke developers do not seem to understand that and gamers will reject such obvious agendas. We don't want to play as ugly bald woman.

all u guys need to chill ur asses.

We dont know anything about the game yet. take it for what it is, if you want to not give a shit about it, thats fine as well.

But hating a product that nobody is forcing u to consume, really isnt worth it.
Play something else, i have alot of fun with PoE2 right now :)

Wish u all the best, the mental state of some people in here seems to have taken a big hit with that game.

That’s not how people think about their hobby.

People also bought a console for a specific type of games or even to play games from specific studios.

It’s as if Nintendo suddenly stoped making Zelda games appeal to Zelda fans by making it an ego shooter. People won’t just not talk about it. They’ll express their worries and anger.

I See your point. And what u say is right and even good.
But some are loosing it. Thats not healthy, its a Videogame that has only a cinematic Trailer. Theres a Limit of how much negative Emotion that should be able to envoke.

Its just good practise to do this and makes life better.

I'll be curious how they address the cultural appropriation as they ramp up marketing. Druckmann decided he could do Anime, but the Japanese don't seem to take kindly to people fucking with their culture.
Gtfo cultural appropriation. Please. Akira is insanely derivative of American culture, and Ghost in the Shell (the other ZOMG best movie of all time) might actually just be a Bladerunner ripoff.

I have more grounds in being tired of the constant Akira glazing the Japanese do for "cultural appropriation" of anime.

I'm not suddenly going to take that phrase seriously because it's aimed at the other side now.

What?

I would rather ignore anything I don't like than advocate for this.
To be frank, the Naughty Dog situation is one case where an intervention would be in order. The Youtube ratios and reactions reflect that people aren't giving them a free pass anymore.

I don't like the idea of Naughty Dog losing their creative autonomy either, but if they do, then the fault will squarely land on Dr.Uckmann for letting it happen.

Burger munching, star spangled banner waving, FREEDOM™️ loving, blinding white teeth having chads and cadettes.

America has one of the most stark and even infective cultures. There absolutely is a culture to integrate into, not some diverse soup.

The good ol' ND... I facepalm whenever I see people saying "no one wants Uncharted/Amy Hennig back".

To my surprise and in my opinion this trailer did better job capturing Cowboy Bebop vibe than new ND game ever did.

My cousin used to play this first game on original Xbox.
I not even a fan of this franchise to be honest, but I remember liking this trailer.

It was obvious that people would try to shut down conversation by defaulting to baseless accusations of sexism and racism.

Joanna Dark, Lara Croft, Samus Aran, Bayonetta, Amecia De Rune, Kena, 2B & Jill Valentine are all beloved protagonists.

There’s plenty of strong well written black characters too. Lee Everret and Clementine, Jax, CJ, Franklin, Dom and Cole - the list goes on and on.

We can’t even get in to secondary characters as I’d be here all day.

No one complained, because they were all well written believable characters.

I have lowered myself by even addressing the point, however I think it’s really important that people don’t feel bullied.

Extremely underrated VA performance that deserved recognition, That dude had soul in his lines I genuinely felt sad when Lee died.

The name is not catchy at all. Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet? Sounds a bit convoluted and having a subtitle is unnecessary too. The Heretic Prophet by itself would sound better.
Intergalactic is probably the real name of the IP that the following sequels will iterate on. The Heretic Prophet is the protagonist/ central avvenimenti of this particular game, but it will probably be completely irrelevant to a sequel, so ...

A Japanese prophecy. The game will bomb in Japan.
A very successful Sony game in Japan sell about what ? 300 thousand copies? I'm pretty sure the Japanese are one of the last demographics that any developer that doesn't publish on a Nintendo console should try to cater to

Hard disagree. We, here in the west and the Japanese have fundamental differences in how we define masculinity. Which is why you’ve essentially identified there boybands as being effeminate or emasculated. I think our perception of what masculinity even means is so skewed that one of our most premier development studios is out here developing characters like these:

I like that they can articulate that strong women do not need to be like men. Women are strong and feminine at the same time.

Imagine have a beautiful protagonist and also confident and caring and kind yet willing to fight for what was right.
This kind of comment will get you banned in the purple forum 🤣

In the trailer she's shaving her head because of some sort of illness it looks like 'she has a giant scar on her neck and has hair in a photo shown with the crew'. On top of that i feel like we need to see more of the game before we lay the hammer down on it and nail it into oblivion.

200w.gif

She is a warrior\fighter so that is probably a battle scar, bounty hunters get scars from time to time.

The indian dude probably betrayed the old team and that's why he has a red circle on his head in the group pic, maybe he was the dude who gave her the scar when he betrayed the team so she has this constant memory of the motherfucker that did that to her.

Not sure why people are going with the illness stuff when just a battle scar is way more probable.
She is already bald and ugly, does she need an illness aswell? :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

She probably cut her hairs to tough up her image like it happen in other forms of media and modern writers can't write a feminine looking fighter to save their lives.

It speaks volumes, that the most feminine characters in TLOU2 were just damsels in distress, and Lev could only be a hero unlike his sister because he became a boy. Apparently, women with feminine qualities can't save the day, and such men don't even exist in their stories, eventhough they're supposed to be inclusive.

And why is nobody talking about how women still shave themselves in post-apocalyptic worlds of TLOU/TWD? Apparently there's razors aplenty for them, but men can't seem to find one.

It’s like they watched Aliens and thought the Vasquez character is how every tough woman should look.

Meanwhile in the real world women in law enforcement and the military look nothing like that. Even the ones who bloody each other up in MMA don’t strive to look like that.

It's kinda mind-boggling that ND spent so many resources to replicate plastic straw/lips physics, let alone for an undesirable character...

When game devs cry about AAAA crunch and rising dev costs, they should always remember they did this to themselves.

Personally, I'd be happy having Uncharted 2-quality graphics at 60 fps and a new ND game every 2 years (just like in the PS3 era).

If there is no changes in the game, especially with new political climate next year in USA. This will be another concord and DA:VG.

Trump won in that universe and female shaving ritual passed over generations :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Funny thing is Lara Croft is feminine, shoots enemies, climbs walls and does massive jumps and everyone is fine with it. And Tomb Raider came out almost 30 years ago. In TR1, Lara shoots down a T-rex!

You dont even have to make the character that obvious and skimpy like a DND sorceress with boobs hanging out or Lara Croft with garters and giant pointy tits like it's 1996. You can still have kickass female characters without mashing their face in the dirt and cutting off their hair like they are prisoners of war. And then adding in possibility she's also a lesbian to boot.

But with modern day politics and studios who hate good looking women (but hunky guys are still ok of course), you got to uglify the female cast in hopes gamers start to prefer frumpy women, instead of good looking ones.
