Now, the latter usually wouldn't matter, as we can't realistically know about all cultures, but as you've tried using it as a justification for your opinions... yeah, your ignorance should be called out.

Japanese these days very often just use the English (or occasionally other language) word as is, though sometimes bastardising it a bit. Initialisms and acronyms are usually just written as is, while words and phrases are usually written in katakana (their script usually used for foreign words).

I think that the problem is that Sony is running PlayStation like it is Sony Music lately and that is going to backfire sooner than later… And i don’t think that they don’t care about Japan anymore, because that doesn’t make any sense. BTW a big % and growing fast of western audience is not OK with this kind of behavior too. Like i said a few times, i think that Sony is going to make some changes soon.

Joanna Dark, Lara Croft, Samus Aran, Bayonetta, Amecia De Rune, Kena, 2B & Jill Valentine are all beloved protagonists.

Not to mention the cultural damage. I was just watching Wolf Hall, a Tudor drama, and they've only gone and done 'colour-blind' casting. It's a mockery of our history and heritage.

Disagree. TLOU 2 was divisive, certainly, but the "woke" aspects were blown up by a loud minority. TLOU 2 sales were great on their own even if they did not outsell the first game. It sold over 10 million copies. That's great either way.

Maybe the millions sales lost can constitute a "loud minority"... but now we have this "million minority" + the people that bought the game and will never touch anything ND again ... so with 10-11 mil being the new ceiling .. well.. as hard as it is to believe we really could be looking for the first Sony major studio single player game flop considering the budget + expectations for this game.

I dont think a concord type of flop .. but a flop for this particular game pedigree.

It will be really interesting to see the next 2/3 years until this game cames out.

How many "woke" games will flop ? Will this cultural war really lead to a new cultural shift ? Will Sony Japan have more reasons to intervene in California ? ...

I'm not seeing millions of sales lost for TLOU 2. TLOU was released in 2013 and sold 37 million as of 2022. TLOU 2 was released in 2020 and sold 10 million as of 2022. So that is 4 million sold per year for TLOU vs 5 million per year sold for TLOU 2.

If ND goes full woke with Intergalactic (don't see that they have as of yet) and the consumers reject it then so be it. Can't say that would be a bad thing if it sends the right message that folks are tired of the messaging.

Again,TLOU2 did the numbers it did based on a marketing lie.

No I don't. It is a new character introduced that you play as. The core gameplay is the same. And the part playing as Abby turned out to be pretty damn good. It would make no sense to market the game with Abby when no one knew who she was at the time.

Its the brutal truth, think logically how many women nowadays, in western civilisation even prioritise being mothers and wifes, they spend single most of their 20s and sometimes even early 30s too, only want to settle at later age when its too late, while that time should be used on having/rising children, not focusing on career.

Its not a matter of economy nor culture, just female mindset changed substantially in last 50years, we as humans live easier lifes yet we decide to not reproduce.
We all can agree Palestine is terrible place to live in and was for many years, even before that awful bombing, economically, politically and coz of all kinds of danger, yet it still had over 3,3 birthrate in 2023, roughly 2x higher from basically all safe, rich and progressive af western countries.
