what do you guys want to know about MLB 2K5

I have a conference call tomorrow afternoon with 2KGames, and was wondering what you...the people!...wanted to know.

Does Minute Maid Park have open and closed models? I ask because whether the roof is open or closed has an effect on the game.

Did they use QA testers on MLB 2K5? And if they answer yes, ask for SSNs and addresses. Check, double check, and triple check!

Will you be able to change in and out of Jeff Bagwell's old/new stance? Can you switch between roided and unroided players?

Ask about the franchise mode, specifically player development in the minor leagues and if they included a fictional league like ESPN 2k3 had, that was a rockin' cool feature.

Can you ask them if they have ever heard of Konex?

This must be asked despite not being releated to mlb.

This question is in relation to DMs.

Could you ask to find out right away what game breaking gameplay glitch is going to ruin the online experience so that we don't have to go through the hassle of figuring it out ourselves. Thanks!

Just MLB.

Please tell them to change that ugly cover....It's crowded and very unappealing

What would their plans be next year to make their games worth getting, since we still have a choice this year, and what would they do if EA came back with generic bsaeball game at $19.99?

How will they replace the ESPN presentations and Joe Morgan commentating?

T2 said they're going to put out more baseball games a year, can they elaborate? Will we see an arcady baseball game or a manager-style game this year?

When will the Cubs win the World Series? :)

Thanks Matlock, Will you post their answers?

The Expos, even if they never have ranked as the worst MLB team for every season they played, were virtually always ranked last as for previsions in every MLB videogame.

So does 2k games plans to make it fair and rank the Nationals last, at least once? ;)

Will this version ship with the multitude of sliders that the last two iterations have had? They are essentially what makes it my favorite sim. And will they be useable online?

Will this game be more like the other sports titles in the line, featuring more unlockable and special content (ie. the crib, etc.)? The baseball titles have always lacked that sort of fan appreciation content.

ask them how it feels to have teabagged over a million sports gaming fans in america who were duped into buying a dead bird (i.e. any VC sports game)

I almost missed who you were because you don't have the Scobee avatar. Anyway ESPN>EA for baseball games with the exception of last year when MVP was better (except for the lefty bug).

Will you be able to shorten the season to say 30-45 games in franchise mode? MVP does not allow that.

(not sure if this has been possible in previous versions)

It's more like 5.2 million sports fans...

They must have done a hell of a job to dupe all of them, especially when VC games reviewed so much worse than EA's games and were selling at such a high premium to the more reasonably-priced, and totally new and revamped offerings from EA Sports...

i always like when jackasses who presumably know next to nothing about sports come and spew bullshit on the boards even though they are never around when real sports gaming discussions take place. i like when they pop up to bash madden or ea. wait, were we still being sarcastic? i was taking your lead

p.s. VC and all their games (except nhl) suck nuts, and are a travesty to their respected sports

Matlock was kind enough to post asking for questions.

There were some very legitimate questions posted above.

Then there are a couple of posts showing a total lack of maturity, and you're calling me a jackass? I joined the board last month, I'll make sure I attend the "real sports gaming discussions" next time, I need to learn more about sports from the pros!!!

They are posts out of frustration of getting spurned by VC sports titles in the past. I don't want to get in this discussion again but if you want to play a sim league ESPN games are not the way to go. Unless it is NHL which seems OK. Kush is developing MLB2K5 as well so this is my only small glimmer of hope for this title.

Just leave it... make a MLB2k5 vs MVP thread... just don't mess with a thread that isn't about opinions... but a QA session with the developers...

ok you want a serious question, here you go matlock:

Will MLB 2k5 contain game-killing flaws like those in ESPN NFL 2k5, ESPN NBA 2k5 and NCAA College Basketball 2k5? Such flaws as sub-par AI logic, lack of a decent sim stat-tracking engine, ridiculous cpu to cpu trades in franchise and arcade-like gameplay. Will you have some type of pitch-meter (like MVP baseball and MLB 2006) to keep the player interested and on his toes? Thank you and good day

Simple question, will the Yanks be better in the game than the Red Sox as they should be? We all agree it was a choke job. :(

FMT is awesome, he's good people, but his refusal to cite the MAJOR bugs in MVP 2005 will never stop bugging me. Double standard for Football/Baseball around here when it comes to looking over errors.

Full article forthcoming, of course, but here's a couple of tidbits:

720p online is a no-go. You can play 480p and widescreen with dolby 5.1, etc etc...but not 720p.

ESPN deal might not make the announcers exclusive to EA.

Kind of a crazy conf call, though. I've never been in one before, but I never expected some of the questioners would be that fast. :lol

Let us know when the article is available.

I'm sure EA will find something in the contract that will prevent Joe and Jon from annoucing MLB 2K6

Did skydome in the past?

Edit: I mean Roger Super Happy Power Dome.

I was in on the call as well, and the strange thing about it was that usually in conf calls all the people are muted and then have to hit a button to be allowed a turn to ask a question, but in this one it was a complete free for all....no direction. So it was just everyone jumping in like, "Hey I have a question!"

It's funny, the two tidbits Matlock posted were the answers to the questions I posed. I gotta say, that 720p thing really annoyed me last year, and I didn't even realize that they were dropping 720p this year. I had gotten so used to that nice hi-res, but I guess I'll just have to live with 480p this time. Anyone know if MVP supports 720p? (I know it did last year)

That guy from OpSports was FAST. He got about six questions in. :lol
