Currently playing/reading Baldrs Sky. Its a very interesting visual novel so far with some padding here and there. I'm just about finished the first route so will have to see how the rest plays out.

Playing Ghost of Tsushima. It’s kind of been a roller coaster for me. At first I wasn’t sure how much I was going to like it because it felt mechanically like every other open world game, but now after just starting Act III I get what all the fuss was about. Game is gud. After ending Chapter II with Kage it’s clear the game has a lot of thought put into the story, and it’s got a few of those quiet reflective moments that remind me a little of the giraffe sequence from The Last of Us.

I also like the duality between trying to remain samurai or playing as The Ghost. It feels like there could’ve been a good chance to implement a light/dark system with regard to character development, but maybe they felt it was going to punish players for going a certain route. I still like how it affects the story, with Jin being a realist with regard to fighting the Mongols and using their own tactics against them and becoming a hero of the people while all the existing power structure feels he is a loose cannon and no better than the Mongols in many ways.

It’s damn fine looking too. I remember when I was a kid there was an arcade game called The Legend of Kage, where you ran through forests sometimes in the dark during a lightning storm killing fools with katana and throwing stars and I used to play that level over and over because of how atmospheric it was. This game’s entire world is like that. It’s simply stunning.

Played about an hour of RE7 last night, player movent is painfully slow, a real pet hate of mine in games, particularly first person games. Probably won't bother returning.

I was playing Blair Witch, intrigued by the plot and setting, even if the graphics engine is obsolete. I will make it short : I was looking around for traces and clues, night time, and I accidentally left the game map due to a glitch, I passed through some trees and I finished in a area, apparently the same forest but with different colors, a path, after that I arrived in front of an immense wall covered with terrible very low res textures, I crossed the wall as if it was a ghost wall and I found myself in a flat forest of trees, appearing and disappearing ...it was very interesting :D

I quited the game and disinstalled immediately after. What a disappointment.

I also stopped playing The Evil Within. I played it the first time on PS4, and at that time graphics still looked "acceptable " and I enjoyed the Game.
But now, really, I was shocked about "our memories"; they can be so different from reality. I didn't remeber the graphics looked so obsolete, and controls so "clumsy". I could barely look at the screen without getting a headache, not kidding.
How is The Evil Within 2 graphically ?? Someone can tell me ?

Don' have too much to play until Returnal and Resident Evil Village come out so I've gone back to the PS2 era. Played and finished the firs two Onimusha games which I absolutely love; I really hope Capcom do something with this IP in the future but I doubt they will.

Now I'm sat here playing a game I always wanted to try but never got around to until today: Haunting Ground. I haven't progressed too far really as I've just got Hewie (the doggo) and I've been searching around the moody castle with him looking for items.

Just finished playing through the "shock" series in order of System Shock EE, System Shock 2, Bioshock, Bioshock 2 + DLC, Bioshock infinite. I haven't started the DLC for infinite yet and I'm hesitant to do so. This is because Bioshock Infinite wasn't nearly as good as the first time I played it. Especially after just playing the previous games. The settings and graphics are wonderful, but the story is just so...awful. The last 30 minutes were so cringe-inducing that I was scared of eye-rolling so hard that I would accidentally slip into a coma.

I'm thinking about playing Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens after sucking it up and finishing Infinite's DLC.

Disclaimer: Before playing all these games back-to-back, the only ones I hadn't already played were the System Shock Games. I have played Prey at least a dozen times. Prey Mooncrash was equally phenomenal.

OG Far Cry.

I've never played a Far Cry game before. Figured I'd start with the first one.

It's been interesting modding it and trying to get it running properly with ancient mod guides.
If i can just say, the orig Far Cry game is quite different to the sequels under Ubisoft, especially compared to the recent Far Cry games. So if you dont like the orig game, dont let it put you off the sequels. some of them are fantastic.

I'm in Chapter 6 in Yakuza 0. Originally wanted to just skimp thru the main storyline since I already played Original Ryu Ga Gotoku 1 and 2 on PS2, and 3 on PS3... but got really sucked in the whole 80s thing.

Being 80s kid, it's a nice throwback. But out of all, every time I play one of these games, I have severe craving for some Japanese street food - like Takoyaki and High Ball cocktail, or hundreds of different kinds of Soba, Ramen, and all types of Sushi... Yakisoba, and especially Yakitori. It's my dream to fill my belly with different types of Yakitoris - they are all so bite sizes, so I never ever had them to fill my stomach, ever.... and ones here in U.S. are quite expensive unless you make yourself. :(

I pretty much have enough money to max out all stats for both Kiryu and Majima, and pretty much did all the side quets available - so looking forward to breeze thru the story. Only big one that I can think of is Majima's business part. So far the story has been slowly building up, so very much excited for it... and looking forward how and why Majima really goes full psycho later on. (He's so normal on this one!)

I’m playing Wizardry 1. I started on the NES version which I like a lot, but I can’t deal with the lack of an auto map in this day and age, so I switched to the PSX remake version which has a built in auto map.

Suikoden II.

I would recommend it after playing the first one. Still I ain't as impressed as the people who'd put this one in their top RPGs/games. One thing I wasn't expecting is that I often want to mute the sound while playing because I dislike the music very often. Meanwhile the first game's soundtrack was very much to my liking.

This game has the worst input latency I've ever experienced. Combine that with an unconventional ADS system and combat is really unpleasant.
It feels like the retarded cousin of it's older predecessor, Black.

I feel the same. I much prefer the first game

I've also been more quickly replaying the first game. And it really makes me wish they had implemented some of the quality of life aspects to the first game like innate ability to dash, party inventory, etc. It also is more animated (more sprites for animation frames). Still, first game is still my favourite of the two so far.

I started playing some Thumper and it's surprisingly more fun that I expected. I'm only on the 4th level now and expect it to get really difficult, but so far so good. Haven't tried it with VR yet either.

Also installed that Enlisted MMO WW2 shooter so I can try it out over the weekend.

The second game also has a lot of filler, from back when having a longer gameplay time on the box meant it was a better value to people

Yakuza Zero. Seeing all the threads here made me want to finally jump in a try the series. Only a couple hours in and loving the story. The combat leaves something to be desired, but its serviceable. The heavy use of QTE does also taking some getting use to (especially training your eye to look in the upper right corner for the icon...missed a lot in early on). In the beginning I though the world was cramped due to the early path restrictions. But once that opens up and you have free reign its a lot to take in. Have probably spent an hour bowling. The side quests are....interesting. One last night had me confronting a school over her selling he used panties. But damn the story is good.

Gaf was right on this one. Would recommend.

Just started my first NG+ in Sekiro and I have to say it's an awesome game, but sometimes it's unfair. The git good is strong with this one, as some bosses can easily 1-hit kill you...

I just took the dust cover off my second-gen PS4 and plugged it in. It's time for some PS4 action this weekend GAF! :messenger_beermugs:

...And, apparently, I haven't touched my PS4 since 2019 (damn you Xbox One X). I'm still on system firmware 5.05. LOL.

On the itinerary for this weekend is some scotch,

l1zxkjk.gif

revisting some Uncharted

ttmdm6S.gif

And powering through the last of the Wipeout Omega Collection (I still have 2048 to finish).

Nioh 2 (PS4). I managed to beat all the DLC missions on Dream of the Demon, so all I have to do now is find all the collectibles and I'll have all the trophies. Aiming to finish that tonight, finally, after 200+ hours of play lol. Shouldn't take me long, so I'll probably jump into Sekiro (PS4) right after.

Finished Ghost of Tsushima. Credits are rolling. Fantastic game. The ending was so powerful and touching. The writing and story was excellent, and made you invest in Jins journey, and all the characters he met on the way.

Gameplay was equally great, with lots of variety in terms of combat. A couple of epic bosses wouldn't have hurt though. The exploration was solid with some amazing environments. Played it on PS5 and it ran buttery smooth. It could be mistaken for a early next gen title given how incredible it looked sometime.

Ghost of Tsushima is Sucker Punch finest work so far. It is a huge jump in quality from their previous games and it deserves all the success it's getting. It's also probably the best exclusive from Sony I've played since Bloodborne and the best open world game they've put out so far.

The PS4 generation was absolutely nuts in terms of first party quality from Sony and ending it with GoT is probably the best way you can close an already great generation.

Started Days Gone.
I really belly laughed when Deacon muttered to himself about "getting some ointment/meds(?) for Boozers arm".
His voice broke at the end of the dialogue, and it sounded like he was about to burst into laughter or tears.
I can't describe it, it just sounded so comical. I had to pause the game while I composed myself.
Enemy AI is as dumb as a bag of rocks.
I'm liking it so far though :)

Yea im giving this game a chance after last night. I’ve had zombies spawn and disappear in front of me. And yea some of the dialogue is a bit strange. Especially the bit you talked about.

The Touryst. Going to try finishing it off this week. Half done. Good indie game. Not a long game either. Frustrating gameplay parts and a half shitty camera system, but overall worth a try just for the graphics alone. Very relaxed game, infinite lives, cant even get killed I dont think except for falling off ledges in the handful of dungeons.
