I bought Inscryption on Steam. It’s interesting, but it’s also a card game. I bet it’s good and there’s a lot of cool things to figure out. I just don’t think it’s a game I want to play again and again to get my money’s worth. I requested a refund. I want 3rd person action games right now and RPGs. I think people who really liked Slay the Spire will get a kick out of this. I want something a little bit faster at the moment.
I’ve been playing “Moon” on Switch. An RPG from 1997 about a kid who is trapped in a RPG world where they make fun of the typical hero gaining levels and hitting for 9,999 HP. You spend your time doing misc things and gathering “Love”. Love is a huge theme in this. It’s like breaking the mold of a classic JRPG with 4th wall type humor. Nothing like Nox.
About finished with Tormented Souls. It’s not bad, but like I have said before. The game is actually a lot more fun with a guide because it gets to be too obscure for its own good. I love a good classic RE or Silent Hill puzzle, but these aren’t those puzzles at all. They’re just meant to make you read every journal you pick up and question anything you’ve come across up until that point. Back tracking all the way to shut off the power just to get across an area was fine because they let you access a door that’s right across from where you shut it down at. Those kinds of things aren’t told to you, so it does a good job at masking the solution. The voice acting is atrocious, as in the MC’s voice could have been someone’s first gig as a voice actor. There is very little to gain except your typical Stephen King/Silent Hill type story that takes place in a mansion on top an island somewhere in the world. Overall it was worth the $19.99. I think with some minor changes and some time spent on enemies/voice actors, this could definitely make for a good sequel or something. There aren’t a lot of different enemy types, so you’re running into the same type of enemy over and over again.
