What game are you currently playing?

Beat Avowed over the weekend then jumped into Veilguard. Avowed was much better than I expected after reading all the negative comments online. Next is Atomfall whenever that comes out. Gamepass/PSplus for the win!
Yeah, at this point I'm of the mind that Avowed is "excellent". Loved it. Definitely also will be playing Atomfall in 10 days!

Currently 100 hours into Bolatra but haven't made much progress also playing Mineral Defense and The Crew Motorfest.

I might fire up some console Minecraft and mess around in Creative Mode.

I might try Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty again.

I will be picking up MLB The Show 25 when it releases.

Fired up the recently acquired Robocop just to get a feel for what it's like, seems pretty awesome to me. Love the whole feel and look. I think they did good focusing on having a lot o destructible stuff around, should have had even more! I don't plan to play through the game at this very second, but seems like something I will like a lot. I just wanted something that was era-accurate and made you feel like Robocop, seems perfect. Kind of in the same way Alien Isolation is slow, creeping along, but it's amazingly perfect in terms of Alien experience, visually, etc.

Playing Death Stranding and damn, this game is becoming addicting. I'm only 6 or so hours in but I really wasn't expecting to be having this much fun delivering stuff.

Sad that people call this a "walking simulator".

And it's cozy and can provide some catharsis moments. I dont just dont get it they say its all about walking. The world building concept feels that you are in control to fix a world and provides cerebral and challenging activities. Not all games has to be hack and slash and shoot all the time.

Yaiba: Ninja gaiden Z

Game is challenging. Learning how to parry is very crucial to getting headway. The visual presentation holds up pretty well honestly. I can see how some NG fans wouldn't be overall enthused about it. But, As a spin-off, its solid in its own way imo. Clearly, very western marked. A "West meets East" kind of deal. On the 5th chapter atm.

Still on wanted:dead. Addicted....

Wife went to play undertale this weekend. Almost got all the way through it. This is a momentous occasion for me, because for the first time in 18 months she's playing something other than BG3. Jesus christ that theme ringing in my head. She's going to go for KCD2 but wanted to see undertale as a pallette cleanser. Just watching, seems to me... a little overrated?
Nice. This might actually be the next game in my rotation.

Death Stranding being about catharsis is a good way to describe it.

Dragon's Dogma Online, came out of nowhere and I'm having the time of my life with it.

It's just as good as DD1, but it has more of everything. Best of all is having 11 vocations and the pawns being able to use them all, making party composition way more fun than in the other games.

Finished Alien Isolation. Still holds up as a stellar survival horror games. One of the finest. Being chased by the Xenomorph is terrifying, at least in the beginning. By the end it does get a little annoying because he pops up at very inconvenient times, like when you welding a door or pressing the security tuner. It gets frustrating when you have to replay same section multiple times.

The story, graphics and sound design is amazing, and is true to the 1979 classic movie. It follows the event from there and it could be considered a true sequel. Lots of cool Easter eggs throughout, paying homage to the Alien franchise. Isolation is probably the best game when it comes to Alien, it's so well made with an amazing attention to detail, great level design, tense stealth and survival gameplay and awesome voice acting by the cast. The fact that Creative Assembly is finally doing a sequel makes me all jittery inside. They've should've done it a long time ago instead of wasting their precious time with the that abomination Hyenas.

About to wrap up FFXVI since i want to beat it prior to moving onto new releases this week (Shadows/MLB)
FFXVI started off strong- really dragged mid way, so much i had trouble continuing - to a really awesome final act thus far.

Really looking forward to Alien Isolation 2 or whatever it'll be called. If they fix a few things I didn't like from the first, then it could be a masterpiece.

Started tony hawk pro skater 1+2. Took me a little bit to get used to the controls, but once it clicks it's very fun. Just finished all the objectives in the first game, moving to the second game.

Man that just unlocked a memory of getting actual blisters on my fingers from that game lol

I thought they shut that down like 5 years ago. Are there private servers or something?

Yeah, fan translated and fan revived. There's even a server, Dogma Rising, that tunes progression so it's less of a grind and more single-player friendly.

Any fans of Trails Through Daybreak? I am looking them up. I have never played any Trails saga games.

I am interested in how true it is that combat can be Real Time and then Turn Based on the fly.
I am interested in how robust or varied the difficulty options are.

I went from nothing to play to adding Assassin's Creed: Shadows and also Xenoblade Chronicles X: DE. I never played it originally so it looks like I am in for a treat. And then I may add Trails Through Daybreak, depending on my research. Huzzah!

Finished RoboCop.

Enjoyed it. As a RoboCop game, it's a 9/10. Otherwise, it's a good 7/10. It's clunky, but the since it's a small dev team they get a pass. Better than Terminator (which was pretty decent).

Pharaoh

Just got leveled by the Pharaoh because I didn't sent him anything. Never knew this could happen. Haha

Cyberpunk

Love it more with every minute. Start was rough until I understood the world and everything. But now that I do and both the main story and the questlines got going… this game is rad. Super high production values for an RPG.

Dantes Inferno.

I have forgotten how much this game slaps. Very fun and creative take on the GoW formula. Fast paced combat against hordes of hell spawns will never get old. Sick art direction, cool action packed levels and crazy boss fights. Visceral was at the top of their game here.

Sega Ages Outrun [Sega Saturn]
As good as videogames get. 60fps 'smooth' mode on this port is too good to be true. Best port of all time?
Something about that super scaling still looks impressive and gives you that sense of speed - even today.
The endgame 'cutscenes' still crack me up - the crowd dropping you distracted by the bikini bimbo.
Tuneage? Its all about 'Last Wave'.

Batsugun - Boosted S-tribute [Xbox Series X]
The birth of bullethell - it all started here.
Even with the input lag of this port, I was finally able to learn the game and 1cc'd it!
I even did the 4 loops of the special version - talk about sheer insanity with all those suicide death bullets. Humans made this?
Colorful varied stages (dont see many vert shmups with underwater levels), awesome ship and enemy designs (your ships firepower is basically like a boss in itself), fun gameplay, lots of room for skill flexing - and even quite a few hidden secrets to add to the mystery.
Yeah this game is incredible. A true classic.

Finished Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 (8.5/10) after finishing the second one (10/10)
Going with Black Ops 6 and Red Dead Redemption 2 now. All PS5 and owned.
Tried to play Veilgard but is too generic.
Tried Cyberpunk but… I don't know…
MH Wilds sitting there waiting

Stick with Cyberpunk at least until you see the title card. It has a long tutorial section but it really gets good after that.

Welp, I went from nothing to play to:

Assassin's Creed Shadows (PS5)
Tales of Graces f Remastered (PS5)
Baldur's Gate 3 (I didn't know it had console mod support!) (PS5)
Xenoblade Chronicles X: DE (it will be my first time playing!) (Switch)
Super Mario RPG (Switch)

Now I am so overwhelmed lol.

And DOOM: The Dark Ages is coming, as well as Lost Soul Aside.

Finished Yuppie Psycho on Switch. That was a wild ride with major Severance vibes. It nails that eerie, oppressive corporate dystopia, blending dark humor and psychological horror. The pixel art is stylish, the office setting is creepy, and the multiple endings range from funny to downright disturbing. If you loved Severance's unsettling take on workplace horror, you'll vibe with this twisted, surreal gem.

It's a HUGE ask though, because will it be like the first game, and a finished product on arrival, or will it have to be patched out, and on top of that is there any paywalls associated to it....

I can call myself Trails fanboy. I don't quite understand what you meant by "how true Daybreak's realtime or turn based combat are" but it is new breath compare to old games. You don't have go in full turn based combat mode for weaker enemies and it accelerate the gameplay in "dungeon maps". But when you encounter strong enemies on the map you should return turn based combat by pressing X (Xbox layout) or square (PS) to beat them much more quickly. You cannot do bosses real time, game doesn't allow that. But even if you could you wouldn't have wanted that because it would be really really hard.

For the difficulty I always play Trails games on Normal. Even if they are gaining popularity and getting a little bit mainstreamed difficulty (which is getting easier), Hard difficulty on JRPG's is too annoying for me. Even on normal difficulties JRPGs kinda cheat on combat so I don't wanna get too angry on higher difficulties. But if you want, the option is there. Just know that it will be really difficult.

playing some older games since my pc is showing its age, currently going through gta sa def. edition since its better now compared to release, i cant believe this was a ps2 game. massive jump from gta 3/vc.

Assassins Creed: Shadow
Absolutely loving this; Love the story, setting, combat, characters, and music. Only downside is that I've just got a certain part of the story and the game keeps crashing during a cutscene :(

I've clocked over 1K hours in Pathfinder - Wrath of the Righteous, with no end in sight. Just one more run, but this time as a dual-wielding, crit-fishing, wizard. Slaying demons with copious amount of chain lightning. Send help.

After finishing Avowed I kind of distanced myself from gaming a little bit, but did play a few games here and there.

Still playing Split Fiction with my daughter. Side content is a bit too hard for her, but we are making slow progress. I still think It Takes Two was a bit more imaginative and more fun, but this is cool too.

Checked out Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown while it was free on xbox for a few days. I'm kind of feel sad for all these games trying to recapture Forza Horizon glory and failing. If not for FH I would probably have fun for a few days.

Trover Saves the Universe - Roiland's obnoxious loud humour is probably even more out there than in High on Life, but I enjoy it so I will continue when I have more free time.

Mullet Madjack is fun. It is not something I want to play for a long time and perfect but it is a good for a few runs here and there before going to bed.

Unknown 9: The Awakening was also free on xbox last weekend. Never got far enough to form an opinion but, yeah, I wasn't into it.

Shadows, kingdom come deliverance 2, platinumed the tmnt collections for ps4 and 5, gonna start xenoblade shortly, and I'll probably start atomfall day one.

Still Cyberpunk.

Damn, this game just keep getting better with time as you open up all the intertwining quest lines. Amazing, so good. Nearing the 30 hours mark and no end in sight. Sorry Takemura, you'll just have to keep waiting.

Monster Hunter Wilds.

And having a fantastic time with it.

Minus the fact it has a lot less content than MH World did when I picked that one up.

After a meager 30 hours besides collecting all weapons, armors, etc (which isnt really my jam) there is little left to do.

After Tempered Arkveld is there any new-ish monster to hunt at all before updates?

I beat Ape Escape. It's very enjoyable but you have to put it in the context of its' time which means adjusting to archaic camera system and controls.

That was the game that introduced dual analog sticks if I remember right. I'm sure they hadn't quite nailed it down yet.

That's correct and that portion is mostly fine. Modern 3D cameras have come a long way as it utilizes a button tap to center the camera behind you in scenes without forced perspective which can lead to some frustrating moments.

Played and finished Evil West a couple of days ago before it left Game Pass. Outside of one level where I had insane stuttering, the game was actually a big Surprise to me because I didn't expect such a good game.
Now I started playing Dead Space 2 and Crisis 2 since EA Play is part of Game Pass and I only got 1 Week left.

Still playing Dungeon Keeper 1. It really is a genius game. Now i understand all the hype about Peter Molyneux. Too bad Black and White didn't live up to his hype.
The game still looks great today like i already said an indie title from today.
It's really much fun With KeeperFX the game really shines even today.
