What game are you currently playing?

Just a minor update on Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.

The more I play it, the more I start to really enjoy its system and grow an appreciation for the game. For a while I heard about how almost inexcusably "awful" the game was which gave the impression that it was completely technically broken or something. Far from it. It has a really strict learning curve and punches you "right in the gut" from the get-go until you learn how to play orderly/master it. Seriously. My first playthrough felt like it was set to "Hard" mode by mistake.

Now I'm on Nightmare mode (second highest difficulty) at chapter 4 and its been pretty smooth once it "clicks". This game will likely become one of those that gain a cult following down the line.

Has anyone played the recent release of Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana on console? I'm interested in how it is from users' perspectives. I watched a review but I also like to hear regular players' thoughts.

AC: Shadows
Managed to get past the cutscene which made my game crash. Played around fifteen hours now and having so much fun. Just started playing as Yasuke. Started clearing some of the castle areas, killing those Daimyo guys and picking up scrolls. Got myself some nice legendary armor for Naoe, too.

Going to spend my Sunday afternoon playing some retro games. Probably some Megadrive games.

I'm in the last stretch of Trails from Azure and already want the game to end. The last chapter is too damn long with too many bosses with high HP to plow trough

Started up Neva tonight. Not sure whether I'll stick with it. Although I like the aesthetic, the gameplay itself isn't very engaging. It's a 2-D side-scrolling platformer with some basic combat. I enjoyed Gris from the same developer, but so far this isn't doing much for me. I suppose platformers were never really my genre, though.

I've put Kingdome Come Deliverance 2 aside for now. I really need to be in the right mindset to fully enjoy the game and I'm not there right now.

I'm playing a 2nd playthrough of FF7 Rebirth. This time on PC. Such a great game and almost done with Chapter 9.
Really enjoying it more the 2nd time around knowing how the systems work from the get go.

I'm working on 100%'ing Black Ops 6 on XSX(achievement earning). Multiplayer is so much fun with the Elite Series 2, campaign is good too. Couldn't find the training course for the associated achievement for a while after quitting it early, but eventually found it. Getting back into the achievement/trophy winning mindset! Bought the BlackCell battlepass... reminds me I have to get in some Apex Legends and Halo Infinite multi. So fun.

Ok, complaint time. I'm seeing marijuana themed events, tracer packs and bundles which could send naive people the wrong message. Personally, I hate pot, disagree with everything it's proponents advocate, and don't want to be an ugly, gross pizza eating amphibian with a huge mutated head and a grin that is 1.5 feet wide(a high polygon 3d model of a ninja turtle with realistic lighting is shockingly weird), nor do I want to fire a gun that has a glowing green weed symbol as my reticle. On the other hand, it is inclusive to a certain demographic I want to lay the beat down on with fake virtual Call of Duty BB pea shooters. So I guess I'm happy. Alleluia!(not/s)

Got my emulators working on my Mac now after my series x refused to recognise the drive anymore so gonna go through the original Silent Hill 2 and 3.

Played the remake recently and liked it so want to try the original too

Also going through Astro bot which is cool and Space Marine 2 which is ok but a bit boring.

About one third in on Suikoden. Terrific remaster so far. Subtle graphical and gameplay changes makes it feel modern while it still retains the charm of the original. It's such a good game. Love it so much.

I'm planning on getting around it soon so will post my impressions here. It looks fun. The consensus among the fanbase is that it is one of the best entries in the franchise 😃

Persona 5 Royal joker only on merciless.
Wanted to experience the story again with a challenge.

.. Except that it's actually kinda easy. Joker is way overpowered, and hassou tobi is basically a cheat. Only madarame was hard as it relies on rng.

Still a fantastic story. I might try team mates only next.

I'm currently downloading Jedi Survivor from Gamepass, (off the back of only lastnight playing some Force Unleashed) so let's see how this is....(never regretted not buying Fallen Order..)

I'm juggling between Kingdom come 2, Witchfire and Tomb Raider remastered. Currently on Chronicles after finishing Last Revelation. All great games.

I spent the weekend playing mostly Starfield (XSX). I can see some of the complaints but I've still had a good time so far. Tonight I'll be starting Khazan: First Berserker (PS5). VERY hyped for that one!

I want to be done with wanted dead but it keeps calling me back. I'm going through the Japanese hard mode and making just enough progress to think I can be at it.

Last nite to wind down, I tried robo-pit on my Saturn after wanting to play it since 1995 lol. I can adjust my expectations just fine and while it's just a curiosity now, it would have been quite alright back when it launched. The 100-opponent ladder is all there is, but the alternative then was often really short games.

Winning and losing arms keeps it spicy. The game is played in first person and superficially looks like jumping flash. Too bad it doesn't have that game's flair or nuance in control becaise I bet this game would be well regarded if it did.

Back then the reviews basically said "you could do worse'. Alternatives at the time iirc being Krazy Ivan, assault rigs, cybersled. But soon there was twisted metal which shot the standard for these 3d combat games sky-high.

I'm currently 82 hours into the first Kingdome Come Deliverance game on the PS5 Pro. For a PS4 game it still looks and plays great, although a 60fps patch would have been awesome.

I bought this game and all the DLC on the Aussie PSN store for like $12. What a bargain.

Robocop Rogue City.

Kinda meh at the moment. Shooting is very very basic, not a lot of variety in weapons. Very slow.

The 'some objects are physics based but most are not' results in a very inconsistent environment.

Graphics are decent but image quality not great in performance mode.

Will probably complete.

Wife might start up rdr2. :pie_thinking:

Weird because she's averse to shooting gameplay. It seems the historical angle has her interested. Will still be weird to see her gunning people down. Thing is, she's a creature of habit so was never willing to try anything with primarily shooting. Maybe she'll like it. She used to avoid anything that was hard and not turn-based, then she wanted to play dark souls out of the blue on day and it's one of her favorites.

It's short.

I wasn't expecting what it was, which is largely sort of walking around and talking. Almost walking-sim level. The shooting parts are well de-emphasized as you really do roll along at a snails paste and waste punks en masse without much difficulty. Tru to the movie, that way. I though it was really cool but with the gameplay being thin and the story not really blowing you away, it's hard to call it GREAT.

Maybe its the horses ha. Ask her.

AC: Shadows and Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive. A little daunting to start two ginormous open world games at the same time but whatever. Both are excellent.

Yoo I also have an Elite V2. Best controller in the business ^^
I got it through gamepass ylt on PC, after my last proper CoD being MW3 (2011). I was addicted to it and enjoyed the heck out of it in november/december. Had to stop playing because of two things:
1- the fast paced gameplay was starting to mess with my head and hands
2- the absurd fortnite skins took me out of the game. once I saw the shark sliding around that was my last day i think.

I got my enjoyment out of it and will probably go back to play the campaign at some point but I'm in no hurry.

Maybe its the horses ha. Ask her.

She might have ended up talking to a client about it, too. She never showed that girly love of horses.

She does nails and ends up talking game with probably a third of her clients. (nearly all women, of course). I think it would surprise a lot of people. The common thread seems to be fantasy rpgs but it often deviates from that. Never hear about fighting games and racing games other than mario kart. But fantasy rpgs -especially topical ones with big online communities) seem popular with the ladies. She has talked to several disappointed with veilguard. 😂

Just beat Final Fantasy XVI (Loved it) just in time for Assassins Creed Shadows. So im currently playing Shadows and juggling in some MLB 2025 in between when i need a break.

Started up Dishonored 2. I'm enjoying the combat and environmental options. The storytelling suffers from a common flaw - asking us to resolve a character's predicament without getting us connected to the character. Emily loses her throne, and I must avenge her and restore her power. But why do I care what happened to this Emily princess? She doesn't seem like a real person to me, just a cardboard cutout. I go along with it, but I'm not invested.

The gameplay is good enough to keep me engaged for now, though. Yesterday, I chopped a guy's head off and put it on a serving platter. That was fun.

Got really close to quitting that last Hollow Knight pantheon after spending 2 hours getting to Absolute Radiance only to perform fairly poorly...

An hour of practise later and I was able to beat Absolute Radiance 6 times in a row (though fairly close calls each time). I've still got some hope left in me, giving it a break and will try again later!

Playing Vampire Survivors DLC to cool down after each rough defeat 😅

I went from being a whiny little bitch about nothing to play to having paralysis of choice from some recent releases and also sales purchases.

So I chose the Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon demo on PS5 for now. I think there is still a bit of it to go, or at least I hope there is.

I have a lot on deck once I am done with that. And the Nintendo Direct today added three future games as well.

I've had a passing interest giving drone flying a try. So I picked up Liftoff over the last steam sale and it's been pretty much the only thing i've been playing since.

Absolutely love just flying around. After 10 hours (mostly on steam deck), I've gotten to the point that I want I proper radio controller. Which I hope to have tomorrow.

I fucking did it, must've taken at least 20 hours of failed attempts, practise, and sweating bullets, but I finally beat the fifth pantheon and ascended Hallownest :messenger_loudly_crying:

Never going to something so stupidly hard ever again, muahabahah.

On to Shadow Of The Erdtree!

The First Beserker: Khazan
Played about five hours. It's decent so far. Still haven't settled on a particular weapon; I think I'm leaning towards spear, but also like the dual weapons.

Assassin's Creed: Shadow
Making my way towards Omi to do some of Yasuke's story stuff. Mainly been wandering around as Naoe, killing bandits and other side stuff.

Just Setup a bunch of stuff for the year. R&C and Infamous are my chillaxing games for destressing so no timeline for them, the other two will play through within the next month, plus a few games playing with friends.

I didn't know there was such a thing. Thank you. Downloading now.

I am interested to hear your impressions! I don't think I've finished the demo yet.

If you are interested in some analysis of the PC version, check out this video. The devs are listening to his feedback and the community, and blatantly encourage content creators to present the game in whatever light the creator chooses. I cannot wait for the full release of this!

Let AC shadows go. Been on Khazan and it's growing on me but I had another crash in ps5 pro today wiping 20 minutes of progress. Very frustrating.

Also been on 33 immortals with a buddy. I want this game concept as modes in more games. Fucking great fun but lacking the mechanical depth/satisfying combat.

Edit: Oh and completed Onimusha 1 again to be ready for Oni 2 remaster. Oni 1 being 3 hours to beat was pure bliss. We need more 3-6 hour games with tight focus gameplay and narrative with high replay value.

I love the NieR games, Replicant far more so than Automata and I love the OSTs from both of them. I came across this random music review clip of Drakengard 3's music and this literally convinced me to play the game. I don't know nothing else about it except its also from our lovable genius psychopath Yoko Taro, and its some sort of prequel. Nothing else.

Just finished Giza section of Indiana Jones (PC/Xbox) and started the Himalaya section. Still enjoying it, but taking a short break (well got distracted by spring sales) - and bought RE 2, 3 and 4 remake bundle on Steam.
I have RE2 and 3 on PS5, but decided to keep my RE collection going on Steam.

One thing I noticed about RE series on PC was the all the shimmering and over sharpening... running everything pretty maxed out at 4k with 4080 Super, and 4070 Super - but not liking the image quality. Then I discovered that I can install DLSS mod - and it has made things a lot better! RE2 and 3, I just tested and set up the environment as I like - and moved onto RE4. I kinda miss that old one-liner Leon - this Leon is little too sulky! (LOL) - at least they kept the "Bingo" line, but it didn't deliver as funny and timely like OG Leon. Still, I like new mechanics such as parry and ducking etc. Looking forward to play more.

Also installed RE4 on Steam Deck OG LCD model... but alas, I don't think I can play the game as is. Rather blurry mess. :( Perhaps I will look up some optimized setting for it, but I think I will stick with older games with Steam Deck.

What are your thoughts on Second Son? I picked it up really cheap a couple years ago but haven't booted it up.

Pretty game, smoother gameplay for sure, though I think the originals were cooler; electric powers>smoke/neon/vid, Cole>Delsin, Zeeck>Delsin's brother.
The story in the first two games was awesome. It had real weight and bite to it with its gnarly comic book presentation. With Second Son I had a hard time taking anything that seriously and investing in the story.

Overall the gameplay is cool (though a bit repetitive) so its adequate for that but a bit milquetoast as a sequel in my opinion. I think they should started another timeline in a different place instead of going with distant future and nuking one of the player choice endings from inf2

I should give a try one of these days. Electricity is definitely cooler than fire though, you're right about that.

There's another one right? About a girl with light powers or something? Or is that just part of Second Son?

Stand alone expansion. I never played it myself, was done with it after platinuming Second Son.

And it's cozy and can provide some catharsis moments. I dont just dont get it they say its all about walking. The world building concept feels that you are in control to fix a world and provides cerebral and challenging activities. Not all games has to be hack and slash and shoot all the time.

The combat was by far the worst part of the game. I had so much fun just running packages and figuring out the logistics to most efficiently make deliveries and maintain roads/ziplines. Exploring and learning what the hell happened to the world. Excellent game with incredible atmosphere.

Finished Dead Space and Dead Space remake back to back. The original holds up surprisingly well but the remake feels like the much better game here, mainly because the atmosphere is so incredibly well done. The horror is amplified tenfold in the remake, especially the necromorphs with its detailed look and new animations. The Ishimura as well is revamped a great deal and I feel the level design is much more coherent and thought out. It feels like an organic ship where you can go anywhere whereas in the original it gets a little video gamey with its distinct levels and split up chapters. Motive did a hell of a job with the remake. I would give my left nut for a remake of DS2 made with this high level of quality.
