What game are you currently playing?

Indiana Jones on the Pro. 4th playtrough since release last week!

I think I'm the only person in the world who can't wait for Days Gone Remastered this Friday.... 😕🤷🏻‍♂️ I love this game so much! Did 246 hours playtime on the ps4 version... Have the day off on Monday so I can play all weekend 😅🙈

The Tenants
Picked this up for a couple of quid on Steam. I haven't played anything like this for a while - I've mainly been playing horror and Soulslike stuff. Perhaps that's why I'm having a blast with it. Fun gameplay loop, and it's very beginner-friendly. I've struggled to get into a lot of sim/management games in the past, but this has been very welcoming.

Got my copy of Clair Obscure today. May give that a whirl later.

Oblivion Remastered on the PS5 Pro
Saga Frontier 2 Remastered on the Switch

Will be playing both for months, parenting/husbanding/jobbing takes up most of my life. One day I'll retire (in 2050) and play RPGs for 8 hours a day like my father in law.

I'm currently doing extra chapter in Xenoblade X DE....

They actually trying connect all numbered Xenoblade games to X.

I'm convinced we are going to get follow up Xenoblade X on switch 2.

I was initially interested in Blue Prince as I love puzzle games, but hearing more about it I doubt it'll be my cup of tea. I really really loathe roguelike elements and that would frustrate me about the game. Maybe I'll wait for a sale.

The Wanted dead ride lasted 2 months. It was amazing. "Better than Stellar Blade" *see below

My stellar blade experience - So I knew I was looking at something good after the second showing of stellar blade, had a nice little guilty pleasure hype cycle going in, I'm blind faith with my $70 and the game over-delivers. And it was looooong so that was like 5 weeks for me. All very enjoyable. It was a cinderella-story of a game an fun as hell and I smile looking at the game on my shelf.

My wanted dead experience - I see this game's name sharpied on the bathroom wall of the internet, picked it up for $7 on stream and settled in to one of the worst reviewed games of 2023 to see if the lunatic youtuber (electric underground) is right about this being a godhand situation. He's right. Boom. Outta nowhere I have this game that hooks me in the best possible way. I went through this like 7 times on the different difficulties and just doing it better every time was fucking addictive. So good. Not good in sellar blade's well-rounded way. Good like some old world rare delicacy that you'd have to pay most modern people to eat like monkey brains or tiger dick or something. At the end of it all, I bought a nib ps5 special edition for my shelf. :>

After that, I'm not even trying to find a game. Just throwing in curiosities and seeing what happens.

Bounce report:

Outcast 2nd Contact:
It was on the ps sub I went into this just intending to see what the game really is after all these years. So I was just intending to put so many hours into it. Turns out I like it a lot. Along the way, I thought I would like to complete the whole game. Ahhhh really don't got time for all that, though. Now I finally know what outcast is like.

Dungeon Siege:
I don't know why I decided to play this but I did. It's like an action rpg that feels like an rts somehow. I'm not sure if I have fully bounced off this one yet. I've put in a few hours and it feels like I'm going to have to play a lot more to get a real feel for it. It's just one of those games in my library I don't remember buying lol. I know the name from back in the day, but never looked at it. I should probably go look at a few minutes of late-game play.

Ion Fury:
Ohhhh I don't know. I really don't know. I have not played much at all but it's a dense genre so I don't need all that much. I'm not condemning the game but there are some issues here. I will play more because I have been looking forward to this but outlook is not good. I got this thing where I have a retro collection and when a revival/spiritual successor game comes out and it feels like a pretender, it kills interest.

I have a bad feeling about that new 2d shinobi game- Okay sure, we all like shinobi 3. I'm not trying to play a game about how much we like shinobi 3 when I could play shinobi 3.

So Ion has a few red flags. First off, there have only been two "delights" after 2-3 hours. One was the text intro accessible from the title screen. It was like a boomer welcome mat. The other is marveling at the build engine and how it holds up. Being in the large, complex levels on that old horse is just great.

But that's about it, so far. I get this feeling of playing with weak weapons and very low hp enemies. Whatever that is, it doesn't feel right. It took awhile to see a pretty cool enemy and by then I was already getting a little annoyed by small pest enemies. I could go on for a bit with what sounds like nit-picking but big picture here, I'm talking about the lack of real highlights when you are inviting comparison to the best games of a peak period for whatever sub-sub-genre. I played power slave for the first time last year. I'm sure my impressions are somewhere in this thread and they would be positive.

So maybe I'm trying to say is that it's a lot easier to make a game about an old masterpiece than it is to make another masterpiece. Haha. Where's my nobel prize?

All that said, I'm going to play some more because I want to like it and I've played very little. Just have a bumpy start. A lot of what I'm worried about could get better in a few hours so I want to give it that chance.

Finally beaten Sand Land after 35 hours or so. Still have some sidequests left. Dont know why I kept going because the game literally is a dusty sandbox. Guess I just liked the laid back vibe. And Im a sucker for these Mad Max settings.

  • DRG Survivors (yes, even after 100% achievements. Freakin' time-hogging nightmare! I can't stop)
  • Claire Obscure: Expedition 33 (so refreshing!)

In Skyrim, Fjord the horny Nord is off to kill an Ice Wraith in order to prove himself worthy of joining the Stormcloak Rebellion.

In PGA 2K25, I am steamrolling the CPU on the PGA Tour.

In Forza Horizon 5 on PS5, I am still very early on. I failed to get 3 stars on a drag strip speed challenge. Now I think I'm off to take a picture in a sandstorm.

I have NiOh 2 and Dark Souls 3 both started for the second time, respectively. I am just so over stamina-based combat systems in action games. I am dying for the next crop of action games that seem to not rely on stamina. I am eagerly awaiting said titles.

The Last of Us 2. Even though I think the story could be better and despite my hatred for Abby, I think this game is a masterpiece.
The visuals, animations and gameplay are absolutely perfect. I've played this game a few times on PS4/PS5. But now on PC I'm noticing small details I've never noticed before.

Playing Atomfall and absolutely love it. It is so much my kind of game in a way that I just explore and discover things on my own instead of following quest markers.

After seeing Oblivion (Parched grass and Woodland, frightened of colour edition) remastered, I thought I'd try again with Starfield.
It's dull, bureaucratic, lacking in character, and generally a plodding affair so far.
But, oddly enough I find it strangely engrossing.

Beat the main story for gta v a couple days ago on ps5 pro. took me more or less 43 hours. Been wanting to beat it before gta vi dropped and I enjoyed it there's a lot I didn't do but I might pick up s9mething else to play before switch 2 and Mario kart world drops. Maybe doom eternal since a new dooms coming out. only played it a little bit when I first got it

Trine 5 - A Clockwork Conspiracy

Still on this one. For the most part, the puzzles aren't giving me too much grief, but I had to look up a couple of them. The combat is absolutely atrocious, though..! I think this time around its geared far more towards multiplayer. It's a great game, though, and I'm really enjoying it. Tougher than the previous games, and quite a bit longer than I was expecting (closing in on 19 hours for my first playthrough).

Assuming you have a 120hz+ display, lock in that 120fps performance mode and rip & tear, brother. Should run like butter on the Pro. I'm replaying Eternal's Ancient Gods campaign rn and it's

Pure flow state fps bliss. Bring on The Dark Ages.

Played through Jusant. Fantastic game that doesn't overstay its welcome. Beautiful artstyle and vibe that hit the same notes as Ueda games. Would recommend everyone plays it.

Gonna jump into Blue Prince now after hearing so many good things. Will be going on holiday in a weeks time so will be playing some Swtich then. Got Super Mario Wonder and Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door lined up!

Cyberpunk 2077

Not really impressed so far. The story quests are pretty good and it was an exciting first few hours leading up to Johnny Silverhands introduction. But everything else feels like a glorified GTA. Nothing revolutionary. The gunplay and melee combat is also weak. Maybe it gets better when you have a more focused build and exciting cyberware attached to you.

The game takes a while to get going. I myself shared your sentiments until the side quests started becoming intertwined. Ended up loving it because of that.

Oblivion Oblivion Oblivion and only that, over 20 hours since release, can't stop playing, probably my favorite game this generation at this point.

Still AC Shadows. It's been over a month, over 100 hours, it's definitely overstayed its welcome. Without a proper "main quest" list, I've just been doing whatever, always assuming in the back of my mind that the "revenge against the masked bad guys from the beginning of the game" quest circle is probably the closest thing to a main quest list. Still enjoying it. Normally I would have burned out by now, but I did something I normally never do when I'm on the first playthrough of a new game- took breaks to play other stuff, old comfort food games like Mario or GTA IV or whatever.

Finished Haven. It's a weird one. It feels almost AI-generated in its random blend of JRPG combat, social sim elements, open-world exploration, narrative RPG choices, indie survival, romance sim aspects, and indie platformer movement.

Think I'm ready for a retro streak. Just got to pop a few things in and tour. Spent last night setting up a fun-looking stream so I could hang with some friends as I go. Some games I want to try solo, though.

Finished Dantes Inferno. A cool take on the God of War formula. It's adapted from Dante Alighieris "The Divine Comedy". You travel through the nine circles of hell, battling hell spawns and demons, in a quest to save your betrothed love Beatrice. Holds up well graphically with some sick art direction and the combat is a lot of fun. You can change between absolve or punish your enemies You can use a Holy cross and just crush literally everyone by spamming holy magic. Lots of fun.

Put Oblivion back in the backlog, waiting for some patches.

Playing Clair Obscur instead. Still in act 1 but so far it's a very, very good game.

Enjoy. Such a fantastic game.
I'm really enjoying my time with it (around 7.5 hours in, longer than most platformers I played)

There's a bit more backtracking than I'd like but they did a great job introducing new challenges along the way to keep it fresh

Really taking my time with Death Stranding directors cut ps5. Delivery, exploration, collecting materials and lost package, building roads and bridges, sneaking or beating in battle the BT's and infiltrating and stealing from mule camps are really rewarding.

Started playing Blacktail. Decided to play a random game in my steam library and picked this. Game feels like it's somewhere in between Far Cry Primal and Hellblade, just not as depressing. Combat is archery based, you run around and collect materials to craft different arrows. There's also some magic you can use. Story is well done, better than some AA games. It's about being a witch getting kicked out of your home, and you talk with your alternate personality. The art direction is incredible and so are the characters. Been playing it for about 12hrs now and nowhere near done. So far it's been bug free and it's decently optimized. Also had a mushroom tell me to kill myself in a boss fight. 8/10

Just finished Trails through Daybreak last night. What a great game!

Now I'm trying to close off some in progress stuff:
* Syberia (PS5)
* The Pale Beyond (PC)
* Labyrinth of Galleria (PS5) <- not gonna finish this anytime soon!

Clair Obscur physical is arriving in June (apparently) so I have some time to clear out some backlog before that arrives and I need a break from turn-based right now. I am side-eyeing No Rest for the Wicked (on sale) as another hit of arpg for my unfortunate addiction.

Struggling to find what to play next. Jumped back to p4golden, some 35 hours in, and even though I still like the story and the characters, it can get boring at times. I need something more involved.

Looking for something similar to the experience ghost of tsushima gave me. Excellent gameplay, engaging story, oozes with atmosphere.

Tried rdr2 again, but it still feels too clunky, even more so now after GoT. AC Valhalla was miserable. I like Dying Light, but it's so stressful, and having most of my playtime after 10 pm doesn't help.

I've had YS 8 for some time on my wishlist. For someone who only played a few jrpgs in his life, is it worth it? I am worried I'm going to be spending too much time in menus, which I am not In the mood for right now.
