I wasted my last few weeks going back to WH40K Chaosgate Daemonhunters (whew, that was a mouthful) and REALLY getting into it.
There are a few minor issues here and there, but It's arguably one of the best pseudo-XCOM out there.

Too bad all its DLC seems to be terrible value for their money (three at 15 euro each for adding hardly anything of worth).

They could barely afford to put the game together to begin with. I will also say, some of the sidequests make it a point to be the way they are. They suck, purposefully.

For such an excellent RPG, I don't feel like it gets brought up in enough conversations. Easily my #2 FF game, right below 7. I should replay it sometime soon.

It's my second favourite behind VII, too. I love everything about it: the story, music, characters, gameplay, and the wealth of content available. I miss this type of FF game.

Final Fantasy X is my favorite Final Fantasy and one of my favorite overall games period. Just a wonderful adventure full of memorable characters, locations, and setpieces. And a fun turn based battle system, interesting level-up mechanics, all-timer of a soundtrack, and still the best FF minigame in Blitzball. I've played through it start to finish four times -- not recently though, last time was when they brought out the PS3 remaster. Maybe I should pick that up for Switch one of these days... Helps that the main story is a reasonable length too, makes for a nice replay instead of some of the 70+ hour behemoths JRPGs have become these days.

Just completed the story. Love the game and will continue to tackle the open world and keep enjoying the hideout building.

That being said, my slate has been cleared for Indiana Jones next week.

The Last Campfire - Excellent presentation. Mediocre gameplay. I kept waiting for the puzzles to expand on what you've learned before and become more complicated, but they never did. A few of them were randomly more difficult, but that was because if you messed up one move early on, it became unsolvable. Bad design, especially because there's no quick reset. Narrator has a cute accent, though.

Yeah, I got about 2 hours in, then stopped. Very nice presentation, but the gameplay just didn't draw me in.

Having won everything in Master League at Top Player, I switched difficulty to Superstar, and man! The game became hard as hell, but much more addictive and immersive!

No Mercy on my Steam Deck.

I got curious about all the buzz surrounding this game. And now I came to the realization, that the rage around it is just another "i support/oppose the current thing"-moment. That game is so absolutely harmless compared to all the other loli garbage that has been available on Steam and other storefronts for decades. This one's at least a little bit polished and even has controller support. I wouldn't even call it a terrible game. Everything about that "RPG" and it's story is so kitsch, that it's more on the dark humor territory than anything else.

Not sure if I'd recommend it to others, but I also wouldn't stop anyone from trying it out.

Agreed. Especially about the music. I listen to the OST quite often when sat at my desk. I never really played much Blitzball, but I think I might on my current playthrough.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
Been waiting for the DLC to go on sale for a while. Got a notification saying it was now, and so I snapped it up. Completed the first 'main' battlefield, which was stupidly easy, mainly because I'm a bit overleveled.

Finished "As Dusk falls". Didn't think I would like the stop-motion kind of art stuff, but didn't bother me in the end. Story and writing were pretty good and has some replay value. 7/10.
Now Starting Mad Max.
Finished Mad Max – Cool concept with fun combat that gets repetitive over time. Story’s decent but overall had a good time. 7/10.
Next Up: Starting Fallout: New Vegas with the Viva New Vegas mod pack (if it works 😄).

I really need to play that again, from the start. I'm not a FF guy, nor a turn-based guy, but I recall enjoying what I played of it. Does the version playable on PS4 have any QoL stuff like XP boost, money boost, battle speed, etc.? I don't recall if it does.

As for me, I started Dark Souls III. I just took out Iudex Gundyr, first try so not bad. I was impatient though, and all over the place with bad timing on my dodges. Not a good sign, but perhaps just jitters as I acclimate to the game.

Finished Avowed. Playing Path of Exile 2. Took a break from Shadows after 50+ hours. Will go back later. I'm going to go back to Dark and Darker now that it has a PVE only mode.

Finished the uk release of Snackworld last week 46 hours of unhinged RPG fun. Now working my way through the Japanese version as with all the realworld NFC jara stuff it becomes a lot more fun. Plays just like fantasy life with the battle dungeon system which is making it a great stopgap to scratch that itch until Fantasy life releases next month, there's so many items and weapons to find in snackworld that it's addictive going through the randomly generated dungeons adding to my armoury.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Playing this after just having finished Ghost of Tsushima is rough.

Horrible sound design, one of the worst sounding games I've ever played. I don't know how to explain this, but nothing sounds right here. And sound quality is something I never even notice in games. It's that bad.

Poor animation chaining. They're fine on their own, but the way they connect is more often than not bad. Also enemy reactions to some hits are ridiculous. They often go flying after a final hit. And Eivor is glitching on 40% of stomps at least.

Lifeless cutscenes. This is expected, since most games are bad at this, but again, coming here after GoT, and it's hard not to compare. Got's at least have some sense of direction and framing.

Running around the game's world feels so empty. There's no music most of the time, no prominent ambient sounds, no npcs/enemies, just vast nothingness. Feels like running on some dead multiplayer's 64 player map at times, there is just nothing happening.

Best thing about the game is that you can tweak dmg numbers in the options and make the combat somewhat challenging without enemies being too spongy. +200% dmg taken/dished and you get die quickly/kill quickly combat, which can sometime be slightly fun.

I don't get how their earliest rpg entry is the most polished one.
