What game are you currently playing?

I'm nearing end of Xenoblade 2 and will move to its Torna DLC and hopefully by then Amazon delivers my Sakura Wars copy and will play that until Xenoblade Definitive Edition comes out.
 
Not playing much since I have a bunch of movies to finish watching but I am playing plenty of Predator: Hunting Grounds and Samurai Shodown.
 
Kingdom Come Deliverance and Red Dead Redemption 2. I'm getting sidetracked by similar things in both games: hunting game animals, gathering resources to craft new potions/remedies, selling pelts to make money, patiently gathering herbs, bonking vagabonds in brutal combat, riding my horse across stunning views while listening to the soundtrack, etc.
 
Final Fantasy X. I'm playing it for the first time and voice acting aside, it's pretty great. The combat system is probably the best one in the series. It's so much fun to come up with strats for each encounter. Now I want party member switching in every Final Fantasy.

Just finished the touryst on switch. Nice game but controls and camera sometimes make me hate it.

Now I have planned to start Red dead redemption 2 on PS4 hoping to finish It before the release of tlou2
 
Nearly 20 hours into Borderlands 3. It's fun, more of the same, but wave after wave of enemies can get old. I find myself wishing it would hurry up and end. I'm not bothering with any more sidequests because they just lead to wave after wave of enemies to be slaughtered.
 
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Didn't like White Orchard that much but Velen onwards I've become addicted to it. Since I was coming off Bloodborne, I had a bad first impression with its clunky movements and combat, but after getting used to the controls and getting hooked with the story the game has become spectacular. I just made it to Priscilla's song cutscene which elevated my appreciation of the game.

Just playing through Bloodborne and this game has justified my PS4 purchase, incredible games.

Finished Yakuza 4 yesterday. It was good, but definitely one of the weaker Yakuza's I've played. I was bothered with Saejima and Tanimura not being fun to play (at least not until unlocking their best skills), with the storyline being quite confusing (even for a Yakuza game) and with some annoying story bits
like no one bothering to keep the guns safe so they wouldn't be used by the bad guys - we had 2 fatalities and 1 protagonist getting shot because of that[/spoilers]
 
Code Vein on Xbox One X.

Love it so far. It's not remotely as great as a real Souls game in the game play department but the the story and World are intriguing.
 
Pokemon Shield, my friend gifted it to me on my birthday. I am still not happy after gamefreak tossed out half of the pokemon (mudkip is my favorite and I have a shiny swampert in Sun that I worked hard to breed) but I certainly appreciate the game. Right now I'm in the desert town that contains the fourth gym (I think it's the ghost kid?). I do like regional variants adding new twists to old pokemon, for example, zigzagoon becoming a dark/normal type with a new 3rd evolution is cool. He is going to be a mainstay on my team. The wild area is also interesting as there is a wide variety of pokemon out and about with different levels, sometimes the pokemon are several levels above you, so there is actually some challenge. I don't know how to feel about there being a level cap on the pokemon you can catch based on the badges you get :/. I don't really care for camping, it's probably only good for getting sylveon. I think some of the bizarre ways to evolve pokemon like Runerigous is good, adds some spice to it. Someone described it as one of those "weirdly specific schoolyard rumors" and I like that, it's so weird that you have to make yamask lose 49 health and run to a random place in the desert area (there is no sign or indication that runerigous comes from here).

Animal crossing is also always good as always, but I'm starting to play with it a little less.

Hard mode? I'm not a sadist, I'm here to enjoy the game and story not get punished because I never played a game like this before. Not a shooter gamer so hard mode is not advisable.

Ah that's fair enough. You can totally enjoy it in any mode. I just love the intense combat encounters where you escape by the skin of your teeth 😂.
 
So, I got XCOM 2 in the Humble Choice and after YEARS, I put myself on the task to play the first one... Always loved the presentation of these games, but man, I hate economy-sims and RNG-based shooting. So, yeah, sue me, but I'm playing with cheats. I'm here for the cool shooty shooty bang bang visuals, not for millions of frustrating hours of not hitting the enemy within an arms reach. I also installed the Long War Mod for the extra bit of variety.

Sometimes I wish, I was more into some Genres to really "get" the great games they offer. But nyeah... can't help it :)
 
Best FF7R couple nights ago.

Playing Kingdom Hearts 1.5 now. Mostly enjoying it, other than the Gummi Ship stuff that's confusing as fuck.

Also still aimlessly plugging away at Animal Crossing New Horizons and having a blast vegging out.

That part was pretty dumb. Yakuza 5 is worse when it comes to some sections and playable characters.
 
Fell Seal. A copy of Final Final Tactics on Steam.

Now, I initially bought this and didn't pay much attention. Recently they updated it to add optional AI for auto-battles, so I dove in. It's remarkably good, very faithful to FFT, challenging and a ton of classes.

Definitely the best FFT clone I've ever seen.
 
Finished Blasphemous yesterday. I can safely say, that I haven't seen anything quite like it when it comes to the visual design. Its 2D art of surreal religious and twisted iconography is disturbing and upsetting, even for me as a non believer. Its environments and character designs are very memorable, mired in equal amounts of beauty and grotesque.

Blasphemous takes a lot of inspiration from Dark Souls, with its fragmented story telling and unique approach to lore, but also in its combat with heavy focus on parrying, tense enemy encounters and gruesome bosses. The level design is excellent, and forms a interconnected world with lots of hidden pathways and secrets to explore. The land of Cvostodia is a dangerous place, but also filled with somber moments and beautiful landscapes, and the backdrops on some of the places you visit is almost as grand as a painting from masterclass painters in the surreal art.

The story about guilt and repentance and the ravaged lands of Cvostodia is sure to raise some eyebrows. If you delve deep enough into the intricate lore you will find horrifying revelations on some of the characters and events in the game. It's like a good novel, only that it is hard to read sometimes because of how fucked up much of the content is. Best are the little stories you get from the collectibles. Some of them are downright insane. The writing is so good in this game.

Another memorable aspect of Blasphemous is the music. The OST is melancholic and sad and conveys the right emotions that accompany the Penitent One on his journey. It's haunting and stays with you even after a play session. Good music is key in this sort of game as it does so much for the atmosphere, and the composer has certainly delivered on that front.

I love Metroidvanias and Blasphemous is one of the true highlights of this genre. Even if the gameplay and overall execution is familiar, the visual imagery and music makes it a standout and left a long lasting impression on me. I'd rank this among the best of the best, together with the likes of Symphony of the Night, Super Metroid and Hollow Knight.

Bloodborne.... finally.

I've spent the last several years avoiding Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Sekiro because of the perception of them being too difficult.

I decided to give them a try recently and I'm hooked. Totally hooked. I can't get enough of the gameplay loop.
So far I've purchased (or in some cases already owned but never played): Dark Souls 1, 2, 3, Sekiro, Bloodborne, Nioh, Nioh 2, The Surge, The Surge 2, and Revenant: From the Ashes. Am I missing any really good souls-like games?
 
I just finished resident evil 7 and the ending is such a letdown, it reminded me the ugly ass ending Boss of devil cry 2. Disgusting. I will play the additional tapes. Coming next i will play horizon zero d or death stranding. Those will take a lot of time. Do those game take a lot of time to finish?

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch on Switch. One of those games I always wanted to play not owning a PlayStation 3.
What can be said? It is a funny, charming and gorgeous-looking JRPG that's easy to get into. I'm just past King Hickory XVII. lol
 
Battlefield 1. Already done 672 hours in it! Damn I can't stop playing it even after few years passed since it's release and they haven't fixed cheating. Played BF 5 only for 50-60 hours though!
 
Playing a RTS called Ancestors: Legacy. I'm only about a third of the way through the single player campaign, but it's really fun. I definitely think it deserves a high score than what most critics gave it.
 
I got subnautica for ps4. Besides the atrocious frame rate from time to time, this is an incredible game. The music and visuals just suck you in immediately.

Sounds like you have the best Soulsborne games ;)
 
I'm currently replaying Resident Evil 5 (for the first time since its launch) and it's really not fun to play with the AI - it uses way too much ammo and sometimes dies from stupid deaths (like the oil refinery area with the chainsaw guys or the temple where you avoid the sun beams). It really makes the whole experience a lot worse even if Sheva still is quite a looker. ;)
 
I finished my 3rd and 4th rin with infamous second son, really the smallest and shorter open world of this gen but still a a lot of fun with the combat and traversal.

Maybe i'm gonna buy rdr2 on pc for a second run at 60 frames and without the blurryness of the ps4 pro version.

I reinstalled ac odissey on pc to give it a second chance but everytime i think about the bloat, the combat and the shitty plot, i don't feel like i want to replay this fucking game.

Maneater on may 22 can't come soon enough.

Finished Watch Dogs and started Watch Dogs 2, a few hours in and WD1 has proved to be the vastly superior game so far.
WD2 performs worse while not looking that much better and for some who knows why reason doesn't support the Xbox Elite 2 controller over Bluetooth. The game made some nice improvements gameplay wise but the main story and all the characters are pretty lame and uninteresting to say the least.
