Doesn't change the fact that it's borderline unplayable sometimes. The biggest complaints that I had regarding SoTC was the controls and camera, and they are still the same, two generations later. The horse riding is straight up awful and makes me hesitant to continue.
 
I'm almost done with Hitman 2. I just have the final mission in The Maldives left. My proudest moment was getting a Silent Assassin rating in Mumbai, I played that mission flawlessly. My only Silent Assassin rating beside the tutorial. Can't wait for Hitman 3.
 
Current playing: Death Stranding - actually really enjoying it....the story is so bizarre and the gameplay might seem boring at first but i guess you need to be in the right mood for it...i find it really relaxing.

Finished this week: Persona 5 Royal + Pokemon Sword - Loved P5R but can't see my self replaying it any time soon. I only "finished" Pokemon as in became Champion. Not done any post game stuff. Not sure if I am gonna get the expansion pass yet.

Gave up on: Persona 5 Dancing - just wasn't feeling it at all. Found it incredibly frustrating. Also, I downloaded the Persona 5 Scramble demo on Switch but since I can't read a word of japanese I gave up lol. I wish they'd hurry and announce a western release.

Once I finish Death Stranding then I will have finally got rid of my backlog and will start playing games 1 at a time. I don't plan on buying any other games until September so I can take my time and focus on Death Stranding over the next couple months. If I finish it before September then I might play some games on my PS2.

Third colossus down in Shadow of the Colossus. No matter how much I try I cannot get myself to like this game. I love the world, the overall concept and design, the breathtaking visuals, but it's so goddamn boring to play. Half the time you are just dangling like a ragdoll from the ballsack of a gigantic colossus and the other is spent cussing out your horse for running amok. SoTC is disgustingly overrated.
 
Yesterday I babysat my nieces and the 10yo has a Wii and was playing Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It looked very cool some 3rd person gaming mixed with potion crafting and the battles were really cool with motion controls. She was getting real into the wizard battles. Seemed like a really good game for kids to play.

i loved that game. well, assuming the Wii version is same as PS3. Order of the Phoenix + Half Blood Prince actually let you explore Hogwarts quite a bit (can't remember which one had more freedom...HBP maybe). I really wish I could replay them again. I still have PS1/PS2 copies of the Philosopher's Stone + Chamber of Secrets + Quidditch World Cup. I might go buy Prisoner of Azkaban + Goblet of Fire....

The fifth colossi is amazing. There is no question about it. It has always been my favorite and in this remake it's even better, much thanks to the incredible graphics and the immersion it brings to the table. Pure adrenaline rush.
 
DragonSky Mobile. Yes, I still consider myself a gamer, eventhough the genre literally has the word "idle" in it. Idle & Merge is the working man's genre, baby!
 
Split/second. Those detonator time trials were pretty intense. Beat some by litterally a few milliseconds.

Spelunker HD. If the gaming media thinks Crash bandicoot is the Dark souls of platformers then they haven't seen anything yet.
 
Yakuza Kiwami - Had it sitting around for a couple years now and finally got around to it.

Gran Turismo Sport - Bought it for $9 and at that price it's been a great value, if not a steal. =P
 
GTA IV - Never finished it in 2008, hated the driving and it was so dark looking on my PS3. Started playing it on Xbox One X, driving isn't so bad. I wish I gave it more of a change back then, its been a fun game. I think GTA V dialed down the F word usage, the radio has the F word used all the time in IV, ads are so funny too.
 
I just beat FF7R and am replaying it on hard mode. I don't know how I feel about it. I was pretty let down towards the end, but the ending was pretty good which brought me back up to enthralled. Sort of thing that I guess I have to see where it goes from there.
 
I can't stop playing Shadow of the Colossus. I fucking hate it, but at the same time I love it. It's so beautiful, seriously Bluepoint is flexing their muscles here. It's breathtaking at every turn despite the landscape being desolate and barren for the most part. And the forest was probably one of the top ten forests I've seen in terms of atmosphere.

The last couple of Colossis has been stunners as well. Just took down the eel and the water effects made my jaw drop. The fur on the beasts looks almost like photorealism. I can't imagine how good Demon's Souls must look on PS5 with a proper 4K TV. Shit's gonna be fire.
 
I'm currently playing Life is Strange Before the Storm while waiting for Ghost of Tsushima to be released on PS4. I already played through the main game that I bought during this years summer sale on Steam.

On my Nintendo Switch I play either Pokémon Sword or Super Smash Bros.
 
Not in such a big gaming mood but I have just been chilling out with Skate 3 a bit lately. Just getting ready for Skater XL to hit Xbox later this month.
 
Just wrapped up the FF7 remake and holy shit, what a game. I haven't been so caught up in a game in such a long time. Can't stop thinking about it - the characters, The story, the world...man.
 
Just Dragon Quest V and Jurassic World Evolution. Only a few hours into DQ V since I stopped to finish Majora's Mask on 3DS. JWE though sucked up all my time in the last few days, slow down on consoles is baaaaaaad once you get the ball rolling.
 
Got around to testing NHL 20 on EA Access.

Ewwww..... no surprise it's the same gameplay as I'd say since NHL 12 or 13. Slightly revamped presentation graphics and a new play by play guy who is just as bad as Emerick.

The same cheating AI on All-Star is still around since I think NHL 09. Then you dumb it down to Pro and the game is way too easy. Again, same AI logic since then.

I don't know about other EA Sports on All Star difficulty, but for NHL what happens is the CPU AI gets insane speed, checking and turning boosts which your players can't do. Even their 4th liner can outskate and out turn your Crosby or Ovechkin. And this goes for any skill level when the CPU gets into your zone. Its passing accuracy becomes 100% and it is literally impossible to get the puck off them. The best you can do is just slowly black the shooting lanes and look for a rebound.

The second you get a rebound or break out, the CPU logic changes from "god mode" to "normal dude" to give you a breather and space to work with.

This has been going for at least 10 NHL games in a row and some reason those numbnuts at EA can't or won't re-do the game logic since the 360/PS3 days. There are times I think the entire EA NHL team is made up of 3 employees. One to do roster updates, one to help record new audio lines and one to make a new cover.

I have no problem paying $30 for EA Access to dabble with a mix of EA games, but no way I'm paying $80+tax for a new hockey game until it changes.

Overwatch and Halo: MCC. I'm kind of out of shit to play so I keep falling back on those when I feel the need to murder idiots.
 
Started AM2R this evening. It's a really impressive fan remake of Metroid 2 on Gameboy. The music and atmosphere are superb. It feels like it has a faster pace than Super Metroid or Fusion, which I enjoy. You're getting upgrades more rapidly. The only area where it falls short is the controls. If feels slightly off in comparison to other 2D Metroid titles. It's otherwise a perfect remake that modernizes and improves on what I've always considered a mediocre game.

For those who have played Samus Returns and AM2R, how do they compare?

I'm about 7-8 hours into Doom (2016), and it's SO good. I think I'm having more joy playing this game than any other game I've played this year. No issues getting ultra settings, it runs superbly, it's tons of fun, and the music is incredible. Doom: Eternal is a must-buy at this point.
 
Normally you couldn't pay me to play an EA game but as Dice & Criterion handled it I took a shot at Need For Speed Hot Pursuit (PC, 2010) and it's been a blast.

Burnout DNA is all over it of course, controlling the cops is thrilling departure from the norm. I love hunting down the racers in a 200mph super powered patrol car at night in the rain, lights flashing and sirens blaring and then calling in a chopper to swoop down from above, spotlights lighting up the area and mist splashing all over the place.

Then of course you get distracted and plough into a truck and are launched 30 foot into the air and 300 yards down the road.

Mindless, brainless fun.

 
After sitting in my backlog for about 3 months, I decided to fire up Greedfall this weekend. While a bit clunky/janky, it is a pretty solid effort by Spiders. I would recommend it if you are looking for a decent action/rpg to play. The side quests are a little tedious, but overall, a pretty solid 7/10, maybe a 7.5.
