What game are you currently playing?

Is it still possible to ruin your front lights in one day stage and then end up driving in total darkness in the next stage which is at night? Like in Dirt Rally 2? I can't imagine that the real world WRC rules would prevent repairing the regular and mounting the extra lights for a night stage.
Also funny that turning off your lights might actually be easier on the eyes and offer better visibility sometimes. Blackish everything is sometimes less obnoxious than glaring lights and yellowish everything.

I don't know the answer to your question about busted front lights getting fixed between stages. I haven't played through any multistage events in Championship or Career modes in a very long time.

Just finished Resident Evil 3 OG (PS1) on hard.

04:51:26
Saves - 1
Grade - B

Dropped Nemesis with the knife outside the RPD! Took fucking ages. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Cronos,:New Dawn about to end it then I'll go back to MGS Delta.

Looking forward to Silent Hill F later in September.

Recently bought a 5080 so I'm looking forward to using DLSS4 across all these titles

Just finished Condemned: Criminal Origins

I think nostalgia is doing an insane amount of the heavy lifting on this game's reputation. Or perhaps the greater number of advocates for it played the game on PC. Maybe that version is vastly superior. I played the Xbox 360 version. I played on my One X, but I also tried it on my 360. In short, I didn't enjoy any part of it. I wanted to. A Thomas Harris/David Fincher infused serial killer horror game sounds like a fantastic idea. But the vast majority of this game is just bad (very bad) combat encounters. There's more detective work in the Arkham games.
A huge disappointment for me.

3/10

Started no mans sky for the first time day after the recent update and already put 40+ hours into it. Way better than I thought it would be and so much to do. Im not going to shit on starfield but the comparison is obviously there. After playing Stratfield a while ago, which I couldn't bring myself to finish it, this game feels like starfield just way better for the exploration side and the ships and that's what I'm more interested in the most. Such a good game have and think I've picked it up at the right time

I'm playing Oblivion remastered and I'm having a real blast. Amazing game actually, and perfect for me since I never played the original.

For me it's nowhere near as great as Skyrim but it's a great game in its own and I can understand why it became so beloved. It scratches the Bethesda itch for sure.

Highly recommended!

Forza Motorsport 4 on 360. Peak racing game. I got this adapter to make 8BitDo controller work and now I can shift using back paddles. Huge improvement.

Killed the second boss in Cronos. He was a tough cookie but overall not to difficult. This entire area you went through had great level design, looping in and out of itself, with clever short cuts leading back to the safe room. Kinda like Dark Souls. It was also very cool aesthetically. This game has top notch atmosphere and audiovisual presentation. Really draws you in and makes you immersed.

Finished Earth Defence Force 6, that was peak. Like EDF5 it was decently challenging on Hard, you really need to bring the correct weapons and work out a good strategy to succeed.

Going through Returnal now, just finished Act 1. It's the best game that Sony ported to PC by far, personally I haven't liked a single game from their internal studios in a while. I don't even like roguelikes but this one is fun and feels good to play. It seems a bit easy for now, I died 3-4 times, maybe playing with mouse&keyboard is making things easier. The port is great and runs at >240 FPS with frame gen.

Red Dead Redemption 1. Haven't played since orginal release.

Having an absolute blast. Something I can't say for the sequel, which I'll never touch again. Same with GTA5.

I'm playing an unhealthy and ridiculous amount of Crime Scene Cleaner.

Season 2 Showtime GIF by Dexter

I just finished 007: Agent Under Fire. It was neat. Really short, but levels were quite varied and had some cool ideas

Currently playing Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition. I'm relatively early in the main campaign and just started act 2

Outer Worlds 1 - Been very off and on with it. Ran through the first two areas then took a long break. There's nothing bad about the game, but a lot of blandness that at times makes me pick something else to play instead. I can see how it was a stepping stone to Avowed, and Avowed is definitely significantly better.

Gears 5 - Graphically extremely impressive, but I am noticing major hits to the pacing. I'm almost on Act 3 and I can see why they would try some new stuff like the minimal open world things and a brief city section that was almost like an RPG or something where you walk around. I didn't hate it, but it doesn't really fit the series. So far, it feels like this will land on an 8/10, and be a game I enjoyed but the worst in the series. My ranking so far is probably different from most.

1) Gears 4
2) Gears 1
3) Gears 2 and 3
4) Gears 5

Nine Sols - Started it up again on Story Mode. Really like the story and art. Combat is mostly pretty fun but so far not the highlight. Even just being able to take the damage taken down to 50% is making it a lot more enjoyable for me so I will now probably play this to the end. The intro really nails that old 90s anime aesthetic when it was much more common to find adult themes in anime with thought provoking content, and darker plotlines.

I was late to the game to play Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. I picked it up the other day and found it to be very enjoyable, though at times it can be tough and not straightforward. I really reminds me of the feel of the Witcher 3 which is only a good thing. Large open world and lots of things to see and do.

The missions are very involved with multiple activities with twists and turns throughout. The writing in it is top-notch and the soundtrack is excellent. It's fun trying all the mechanics and getting hang of the combat system which initially I found very confusing. The world also feels very alive which is a plus for any game.

Overall I would highly recommend it, though it's not been without points where I've had to look things up from time to time. The best word I would use to describe it is rewarding.

The Jason Bourne game on PS3, while not the longest game in the world, the fight scene I am stuck in is super annoying...you have a timer ticking down, all the while you are in a burning structure that is collapsing, and you can't even get out until you've defeated your opponent mixed in with quick time events that help you in no significant way, tried multiple times, but still can't defeat him in time...:pie_eyeroll: Took a break from it, and went onto Virtua Tennis on the PS Vita, more enjoyable experience! Will soon make my way back to Indy to trudge through the snow level

Shit, I didn't know you could do that. I really liked the game but it was a bit too hard for me at a time when I don't have much free time and don't feel like playing the same fights over and over again until I master them.

Anyway, I have been playing the new Dragon Age game for around 30 hours now. Despite a long list of small flaws and annoyances, I am having a blast playing this. It is also funny that EA funds two games (from different developers) that have so much in common aesthetically and otherwise. I'm talking about this and Immortals of Aveum, but DR ages is substantially better or at least more fun. While Taash subplot's writing is indeed full of embarrassing cringe, I don't mind the fact that it is there - just needed more nuanced, adult writers to handle delicate themes like this.

Yeah I didn't know either then saw someone mention. On story mode only you can just adjust it on the fly anytime you want and then put it back to normal later.

I'm looking forward to trying Dragon Age as well. Gotta finish OW1 first!

In act 3 of Trails through daybreak 2, I'm not sure I can finish this before Trails in the Sky FC remake arrives...

Also I started Romancing Saga 2 and er, I opened the map... That's a very big map.

I think I'm good for the rest of 2025!

If you have an opportunity, don't sleep on Hivebusters dlc. I enjoyed it much more than a main campaign and based on your description it might address some gripes you've had as this dlc is kinda going back to basics in a way

Oh yeah, I bought it a while ago. I guess I will have to add that to my final ranking when I get to it! I hear it's pretty much the best of the best.

Also, I've recently been exploring online casinos, and I have to say, some of the games are surprisingly fun. It's not just slots but other games, for example, with live dealers. I understand that you have to be responsible, so I always try to find something useful to read. A few days ago, I came across this guide https://pokiespros.com/banking-option/payid, and it's actually super helpful. It explains the different payment methods, shows which ones are fast, low-fee, and safe, and makes depositing or withdrawing way smoother. Honestly, it made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable because I don't have to worry about hidden charges or waiting forever to get my money back.
Outer Worlds 1- totally agree with you. It's not bad, but it never grabbed me the way I hoped. It feels more like a "warm-up" for what Obsidian really wanted to do with Avowed.

Gears 5 - I had the same reaction. The open-world sections were interesting, but they slowed things down too much for me. I still think it's worth playing for the visuals and some great set pieces, but yeah, it's probably my least favorite in the series too. My ranking is almost the same, except I put Gears 3 above 2 just because of the emotional punch.

Baldur's Gate 3 - Finally got around to sinking time into this and wow, I get why everyone calls it game of the year. The writing is top-tier, every companion feels like they could be the main character, and the amount of freedom in how you approach quests is insane.

not important, might find out myself some day, the yt video thumbnail featuring night race reminded me of that Dirt situation.

Road 96

Weird game. It kinda has an interesting structure to it, how almost random every run is, but the overall world building and the supposed Mr Evil president left me confused. Kids flee the country because of a dictator, but all the evil he does is seemingly lock these kids up and sent them to some gulag, cause reasons? Protesting might not be allowed? Free Press does not exist, maybe? Second candidate is at least on posters all over the place, but the election might be fixed, which iirc was not said. Truth about a failed assassination attack, was turned into a much bigger terrorist attack with a lot of casualties, which the terrorist group did not actually do, but no one seems to know this outside of a few protagonists. So hating the blamed guys would be natural while his involvement is unknown and the people have no reason to doubt his innocence? Maybe I am just dumb and missed it, but fleeing that made up Petria country, the reasoning for it, was not really explained well or not at all, while being the core story element of the game.
Sonya is an intersting character, a little over the top obnoxious but in some scenes then surprisingly human and open. Her biggest fans, the chaotic robber duo, are just goofy. The taxi driver is flipping between cartoon and plausible revenge evil. The policewoman makes almost no sense; in one scene where she sends a kid around to do investigative work. wtf? The terrorists/rebells are all over the place too. Just weird mixture of tones. Writing credits was "entire team", which might explain it a bit, but god damn it felt weird, jumping back and forth between comically, goofy and then proper May Payne thick trauma and seriousness.
Great music in any case.

Only played an hour so far but it's very good. I absolutely love FMV games!
Have you played Contradiction: spot the liar? It's a very fresh and fun fmv detective poin n'click game. Also, from Contradiction developer and if you don't mind a stalker style first person horror game, At Dead of Night is a fmv game blending perfectly live action with 3D graphics. And a sequel is in the works.

Haven't played either of these. I've added them to my Steam wishlist. I'll definitely pick both up when on sale. Thank you very much.

I have my eye on this one:

Also really want to play Night Trap.

Just finished Returnal (12 hours, 5 deaths). I confirm the good impressions from before, the game is great. Not sure if I would have enjoyed it as much if I had to repeat the same biomes a lot of times, but experienced this way I didn't feel any roguelike fatigue. I'm not bothering with the true ending, no need to sour me on the game when the experience was positive.

Now I need to find something short to play since I want to play Trails 1st Chapter next, and that is coming out in a couple of days.

Currently juggling three games, which is very rare for me:
- Silksong on PC
- Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster on Switch
- Dragon Quest 11 S on PS5

The focus is currently on FF6 to make room for FFT Remaster at the end of the month, but the others are getting played as time permits.

Borderlands 4 and I'm having a great time. Strong contender for GOTY. I've always been a BL fan but I've been enjoying this more than I expected.

Right now playing through Hogwarts Legacy on my Switch 2. Is it the ideal way to play? No. But god damn it, I don't think I would ever be able to finish this if I couldn't play it handheld. Wish it had cross saves, though.

I am back and forth across a few games at the moment.

I am interested in trying Cyberpunk 2077 again on PS5. (I wish it had mods for Cyberpunk!)

I've tried Cyberpunk twice now so I have some experience with it.

I'm interested in a build around shotguns, pistols, and swords.

Are there any good guides or other references out there for shotguns and pistols, and especially shotguns? I'm looking for info on the types, the best ones, their locations/requirements, builds, etc.

I also like the light roleplay aspect of the game and world so anything that connects that to shotguns is welcome advice and flavor. Thanks for your help!

I'm currently hooked on Genshin Impact—the graphics and storyline are just amazing!
My students keep talking about this game... I might have to install it and give it a shot.

I've been playing Silksong. Love and hate relationship with that game. The difficulty is just frustrating and punishing at times. Getting rather good at it though.

I tried Star Ocean Second Story R again, last week, didn't click but I want to give it another go.

Pre-ordered Dying Light The Beast and reached 200hrs on Nightreign. Oh and BF2042 with my friends has been real fun, I hate that they got rid of Rush. But Breakthrough isn't too bad. The higher player count makes it harder to truly make a difference though.

I also got MGS Delta and haven't had time to play that, never played the original.
