What game are you currently playing?

Booted Cold Fear yesterday evening and... kinda like it. I love it when I discover one of these obscure games I missed from the PS2 gen.
The game is certainly flawed but kinda fun. Like how you have to shoot the infected heads off as they otherwise get up again.

Also, made me remember how much I miss the old era where you had these awesome CGI sequences in between the gameplay. Always felt like a high point in a game when you got to see one.
Man, can I add just how hilarious the German VA for this game is? Coupled with the B-movie plot this is comdey gold. Just laughed myself to tears.
What a fun game. Can recommend!

Arkham origins done thank god.

Trying Assetto Corsa Rally "career" but it just annoys me at the moment, way too easy to just turn round with no way of stopping so that game can fuck off for now. Really want Dirt Rally w or EA WRC to have a decent sale.

Giving Duke Zero Hour a go now and also got GT4 set up with high res packs which looks pretty decent now.

Still playing Shin Megami 5 Vengance. I was frustrated at first because I played the initial release the slight changes in the beginning were messing with my memory (like "was this in the original game or is this a change") but I'm like 50 hours in and once you hit Da'at: Shinjuku the Canon of Vengance route really does become distinct from the original game. Also playing Dragon's Dogma online on a private server off and on.

Put a Bloodborne replay on hold to dive back into the new Elden Ring: Nightreign DLC.

The new content is awesome and I'm a little shocked you got it for free with the deluxe edition. Finished the remembrance for Scholar and will be starting Undertaker now. I loving the new Nightlords and especially the new map stuff. What a win for Junya Ishizaki.

After that I'm back to trotting through the Forbidden Woods in Bloodborne. After playing so many games at 60 FPS I'm surprised at how easy it is to adjust to Bloodbornes framerate. But the game is just so good, it can't really bother me.

Hogwarts Legacy on PS5. I like it. I do wish we knew more about the protagonist though. Would have been more interesting if they started as a first year and then the game works its way up from there. Kind of like how Dragon Age 2 takes place over the span of 10 years and has several time skips. Also, Sirona Ryan can go jump in a lake. I will say this though. At least it is not top scars or pulling a barv, or nonbinary Kunari like in Dragon age 4

On the journey to platinum all old GoW games. Next one is GoW2 and then chain of Olympus.

Damn those games ages so well, better than most nowadays ones I would even say. Tight control, all gameplay no fillers, great pace, basically everything the modern games lack of.

Gotta give it to our man Jaffe, twas his prime.

I just finished Banjo Mumbomania on Dreams. It's awesome and as good as Banjo Kazooie with all the annoying things of this game improved. There are plenty of new game mechanics that are never gimmick and always fun. Game encourages exploration with clever ways of doing it.

It's really the Banjo Kazzoie 2 I always wanted (and never got with Tooie). I highly recommend it!

Well, it's about time but I'm finally clicking with Streets of Rage 4.

And I have Fight N' Herd and Shredder's Revenge on tap if I want to keep the beatemup train a-rollin'.

Played through the demo of Final Fantasy 16. I liked it a lot. Very grim and dark for a Final Fantasy. Lots of R-rated killings. Slit throats. Mutilated bodies. They even killed a chocobo which I thought was rather unnecessary and cruel. They didn't have to show that. I guess SE is aiming for a very adult and mature experience with this one. I liked the setup of the story, it left me wanting more. My only criticism was the long cut scenes and limited gameplay, which often was scripted with cinematic inputs that felt kinda boring. Sometimes I wonder if SE wants to make a movie or a game. Graphically very impressive but I wouldn't expect anything else from them.

I had the same experience and it turned out to be largely the best part of the game. It wasn't a bad game, it just wasted its potential with little to no actual RPG elements.

I bought this for my daugther on the PSN sale for £9.

Never heard of it before, but after a couple of hours we're hooked, it's got some stunning environments and really whimsical / kid friendly to play. Loving it honestly.
It's nice to just buy a random game on a whim without knowing a thing about it only to find out it's great.

Kena is awesome, and looks amazing. I was impressed how engaging the gameplay was, and it was even more difficult than I expected at times. The main story doesn't outstay its welcome unless you are going for 100%.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition had massive improvement to its UI compare to the original Wii release.

As much as I LOVE Xenoblade 2, it's UI one of the big criticism against the game.

Having only played XC:DE, but I own 2 and 3 (and will buy X:DE), what order do you think would be the best experience?

Original release order: X --> 2 --> 3
Release order: 2 --> 3 --> X
QoL/improvements: 2 --> X --> 3

Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep
I haven't played anything Borderlands since the third game released. Was getting a little bored of the series. I fancied jumping back in and heard this was a lot shorter than the other games, so decided to give it a bash. I really like the setting and the whole tabletop thing. Fighting skeletons and dragons and other monstrosities is great fun. I've gone with Axton as my character.

Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep - Finished - 8/10
Really enjoyed that. Was quite short and didn't outstay its welcome. Had a few sidequests left over but they were 'trivial' difficulty and I decided not to do 'em. I was going to try the other classes out but remembered I have Tiny Tina Wonderland on Epic so I'll play that instead.

It's one of my favorite DLCs ever, Gearbox did an incredible job with it. Top tier content, gameplay, and humor. Most of the BL2 DLC is excellent, but AoDK stands above the rest.

You want to play numbered series first before playing XCX DE because it's extra chapter it might spoil some story parts from numbered games.

Finished my second run of RE2 Remake. What a fantastic and immersive designed game, I wasn't bored for a single minute.

Now I'm going to take a clean shot to RE4 Remake and I will be fully ready before the Requiem.

Tomb Raider Remastered
Watching the Tomb Raider reveal last night made me want to go and play the older games. I have Tomb Raider 1-3 remastered on Steam, so I have been playing the first game for the last hour. I had this on the Playsation 1, but I really don't remember much about it outside a couple of early moments. Enjoying it, though.

Megabonk
Unlocked a few new characters: the orc fella, the skeleton on a skateboard, and some sniper who hides in a little bush.

30 Hours into Tales of Graces f and I'm surprised by how good this game is. When it comes to Tales games, most of the time I'm not that heavily invested. There's only been a couple of games I loved from that franchise. The battle system and the use of Titles is what makes this game so good

I just got my new PC so... nothing really. Being away from PC gaming for so long I keep jumping back and forth between games. I both love and hate this. Will take some time to get settled.

What kinda blew me away so far is replaying RE4 Remake with all settings cracked up to the max with 144 fps on a 42" OLED as monitor. Wild... Straight up. Still can't believe I fullfilled meself my childhood dream of having a top of the line rig. Not sure if it was worth the price but it sure is damn impressive.

Near the end game of Indy Jones and the Great circle (finally!) Definitely not a title revisiting for the 2nd time..it was okish for what it was but the Thailand section/or Vietnam? dragged on waaaay too long..especially the annoying puzzles, after this it is either finally starting and getting into Mad Max or Deliver Us Mars, which I got at an absolute cut price sale on Xbox...

At somepoint I'll watch the DLC for Indy Jones via a walkthrough...but yeah, just as I felt with the Fate of Atlantis, this is not a title worth a revisit even though this game absolutely nailed the vibe more than any other in the franchise..from a presentational point of view, and should have been a real movie..

Had the very same experaince. Loved the Vatican from beginning to the end, then felt like the game had ran it's course by the end of Egypt and when yet another big area was introduced I sighed.... Barely did anything in Thailand. The games biggest problem was its length.

I started Cyberpunk 2077 a few days ago. I'm playing it at the highest settings possible, path tracing, Ultra, etc.. The game looks incredible, easily the most visually impressive game I've played so far. With HDR and an OLED screen, it looks perfect.

That said, I feel like some things don't quite match that same level of quality. The small details, you know? Cars don't have reflections in the side mirrors, there's no windshield wiper animation when it rains, convertibles don't let you raise or lower the roof, NPCs can be a bit buggy, and so on. Overall, I'm having a lot of fun. Hopefully, in the next game they'll polish these aspects a bit more.

Did the same to stress test my PC (not sure if I'll replay it since I already finished it on PS5). Putting aside that the intro of this game is such a pain in the ass, it didn't blew me away that much visually. Perhaps I need to play a bit further but at least from the point of character models other games do a much better job by now.

Cronos - The New Dawn. Doing hard mode for the final trophy for the platinum.

After that it's the dreaded "what to play next" issue I have. I do have The Last Faith on my shortlist

Ok, I take that back. Cranking up the settings and enabling path tracking and DLSS for frames and resolution makes the game look effing increbile without tanking the frames. I've been away from PC gaming for too long... What is this wizadry? Without DLSS on res and frames I'm at like 30 fps and when enabling both this jumps to 200+ fps and I really can't tell the difference with PQ. Amazing....

I mean I don't know if this game could be classed as being longer than the Uncharted games. but at least those didn't have annoying sections like having to fight off the scorpions with barely anything but your breath, or that mega titanaboa snake battle, which I was relieved to have passed, but it was that Thailand section alone that made me take my time longer than I thought it would to complete the game...puzzles for the most part weren't enjoyable to solve either...

Finished Robocop last night - was pretty good but got fed up of all the walking around slowly and talking to people .

The shooting was really good and satisfying though, just dragged down by the other bits.

I have Alan Wake to finish now and going through the Gran Turismo 4 licence tests, these are why harder than Sport or 7's tests....just getting bronze with the odd silver!

So much in my backlog as well plus bought Soma today and have another £25 in my GOG basket....these damn sales keep getting me.

Part of my backlog- (Robocop) I think this is the first Robocop I have ever brought in the history of the franchise, and I guess just like Indiana Jones it'll probably nail the vibe of the movie, as it you are in an alternate Robocop 3 from 1991/1992

Got my platinum trophy for Cronos: The New Dawn. I'll give it a 9/10, I really enjoyed it and it was a fantastic game though I wish Hard Mode was a bit more challenging. Now on to the next game and I dread having to look at my collection on what to play at platinum next.

Tiny Tina's Wonderland
Just met up with Queen Butt Stallion and I'm on my way to find some sort of fancy soul sword. Really enjoying this so far. I've always enjoyed the Borderlands games but the setting was getting a bit stale. The fantasy theme is really refreshing. I've also got my little spore companion who keeps farting on enemies.

Megabonk
Unlocked the bandit and ninja characters

Tomb raider Remastered
Still incredibly early into the game. I'm in the underground city of Vicacabr...Vicamabr...I'm in a cave.

Kingdom Come Deliverance II
First part is my favourite rpg I've ever played. Second part is very very good too, but I prefer first one.
Over 50h in.

Playing Lost Planet atm. No review yet. I'm only about halfway through.
Just had to comment on something.

I bet the combat designers had a good laugh during development when they decided to time the cycling rate of the enemies' rocket attacks to be exactly the same as the time it takes you to recover from stun-lock after getting hit by a rocket.

Still playing Quake maps from Arcane Dimensions.

Love the game, the new enemies are very cool and a welcome addition. Also this game will forever be fun, the "cling cling" when picking an armor or the "glooorrhghgh" when killing a zombie with the grenade launcher, that shit never gets old. :lollipop_content:

Switched from PS5 to the PC version of Kingdom Come 2 yesterday. I was hesitant because I didn't buy it that long ago for PS5 so shoving out another 40 EUR was nagging on me but.... a few hours in, I don't regret it. Putting aside the graphics, this game is so much better to play on PC. Doesn't even bother me that I have to replay the first 20 hours now.

The QoL mods alone make it worth it to play on PC

Is there anything mandatory? I'm playing un-modded as of yet. If it's not necessary I want to end up doing the same as in Skyrim... meaning, more modding and no playing...
Instant Herb picking
Unlimited saving
More Carry Weight

Are the only three I've used.

I'd consider the first one mandatory, and the other two nice to have.

Still absolutely hooked on Tears of the Kingdom. Im close to having the entire depths map lit up

I'm such a sucker for this exploration loop in the sepths: spot a new Lightroot glowing in the distance → fight through whatever is in the way (while grabbing materials obviously) → activate it and repeat

Just played the Pragmata demo

S8IeGw9MFFM5KOXy.png

A few thoughts:

pros:

1- Game looks gorgeous technically
2- The hacking sound effect and the following disruption/shooting are pretty cool
3- The hacking mini game is fun and intuitive, as long as it stays fresh.

cons:

1- The VA is...just kind of corny. The guy sounds like a doofus, and the kid sounds unnatural and annoying.
2- The pistol is a peashooter. I hated it.
3- The MC's suit makes him look fat and clumsy, and the movement is a bit floaty too.

All in all, decent demo, cool ideas, took me 12 minutes. Don't think I'll buy the game unless the story is mind blowing or something.
