Especially with the wind.Thats cold for us brits
I was literally waiting to ambush them when the door opened, shotgun at the ready with buckshot. My dog likely saved his life.
(not mixed together, obviously)
Woke up, started my usual morning news podcast, got the Kuerig going for a cup of joe, while that went I decided to put away a pot from the dishwasher, and two of the cheap plastic shelf supports in my cabinet broke, causing the shelf to tilt and spill a bunch of pots and pans out. I just stood there in glum silence as they clattered to the floor. Calmly finished making my cup of coffee, took a sip, and yelled FUUUUUUUUCK!
Post your story's of what happened today, just to vent.
I will start with mine.
Avoided death today.
Riding on a road with a trailer and a bobcat on it. Minding my own business, suddently car infront of me, brakes lightly then moves abrubly to the right, ghostrider came at me at full speed. I can tell you this, that guy was FAST in front of my car holy shit, janked my car to the right as fast as i could, digged into the car infront of me which was not standing still on the right side, and the clown hitted me on the side where i sit, luckely he deflected at the very end so no damage on me. but the car is pretty bad hit.
White one is the ghostrider.
My little fan.
Pretty sad to see however, feels like my little car is like exhausted sad panda.
Any mister douchebag that tried to delete me in a few seconds from this world, had a real attitude of not wanting to work with me. The cops got a little bit upset as he didn't realized thow he just financially fucked me entirely as i am completely depended on the car and the car isn't worth much through insurance money as its a bit older now but has lots of emotional value to me as i got it from my dad which always drove it when he passed earlier this year. As i basically was telling my life story to this cop. So they facepalmed him in the ground and sended him off to a day in jail which they basically can do. Also he basically drove on the wrong side of the road so yea its kinda you know attempt at murder at this point.
Anyway, that was mine Saturday.
DAMN gelukkig leef je nog, wat een verhaal en wat een malloot. Ik moest wel erg lachen om de letterlijke vertaling van "spookrijder" (ik weet eigenlijk niet wat de engelse term is, wrong-way driver?)
I don't drive cars as I have autism and in my case it's just far too easy for me to get mired in thoughts and forget what is going on around me completely. I once drove frontally into a city bus when I was a kid because I failed to notice it coming right at me down a straight road, to illustrate. What really amazes me about the times I've been in a near accident (some occasions in thailand driving a motorbike come to mind) is how time slows right down when you are in danger, it literally felt kind of like bullet time to me. I always also remain pretty calm in the moment, like "hmmm, it appears that I might die if I don't act, so I suppose, all things considered, that I aught to steer this way" and then the stress and heart racing only comes after danger has passed. I wonder, do other people experience the same thing?
Yea no idea what the english term for it is. So that's why i explained it next towards it.
I think what u talk about is some survival instinct in order to record the situation in your deep memory or something, that's also why people with PTSD and that are abused are permanently scared by it as it also records it in there.
I must say, for me it didn't do anything in this situation because for some reason i never freak out even in high dangerous situations, i just accept it and do the best to survive it. I was complete calm when i got out of it. The only problems in my mind where financially as i would get completely fucked by it.
Luckily it worked out financially at the end of the day tho for the situation i am in, i halted my company for now, cancelled the job offer from the other company as financially it wasn't doable as the salary was simple to low at the end and basically will move to spain for a while to recover and rethink my life stretagy as i am mentally on the ground ( entire family got whiped out last year ) So having some more money on my bank works wonderful and i probably going to reboot my life over there in some form, or atleast start seeing a future forwards.
So it worked well out for me at the end.
Yeah, for me it's such a crazy experience each time I do remember each instance quite well. I experienced it a couple of times in traffic (motorbiking in thailand and philippines) once during a big fire at my job, once when a client (I work with psychiatric patients) TBS'er (kenpachii will know what this is, dunno how to translate it) threatened my life, and once during snowboarding in france when I went flying off piste out of control.Yea no idea what the english term for it is. So that's why i explained it next towards it.

Yeah it's kind of the same for me, except I do get a stress reaction later. But in the moment, I am strangely calm, extremely clear-headed and don't really feel fear, just the sense that I need to pay really close attention to what is happening. For example in the fire situation a fireman really got pissed at me later because I had apparently put myself in a lot of danger putting it out, but I was pretty much oblivious to it, I just acted.I must say, for me it didn't do anything in this situation because for some reason i never freak out even in high dangerous situations, i just accept it and do the best to survive it. Been daydreaming my entire life O.Owow, so I'm not the only one who does this?
QSD I also have autism but still want to get my licence seeing my dads getting older and stuff. Fingers crossed

I never looked into it but lots of people with autism have a drivers license I think. It's kinda different for everybody. For myself, I'm sure if I focused on it I could get the license. It's just that I too easily slip into a state where I am completely unfocused and caught up in mental processing of stuff and I lose almost all awareness of my physical surroundings in the process. So I just figured it's probably better if I don't operate any heavy machinery LOL.
I wish you luck though, I'm sure you'll get it
