Does anyone else sometimes wonder what happens to people who frequently post on a forum just to suddenly stop visiting one day? I know that most people gradually lose interest and then stop posting after awhile, but I sometimes wonder what happens to people that post constantly and then out of nowhere they never sign on again one day.

I have a waning passion for spending time on the game industry. it ebbs and flows, but if you look at the macro it's in an overall decline

Sometimes I'm so overwhelmed by work or other parts of my life that after work I just sit in a chair and try not to think until its time to sleep. Other times I discover some new place on the internet that is interesting and I focus on that for awhile.

I wouldn't consider myself that frequent of a poster, but when life becomes busier (usually girlfriend or work), I post much less.
Also it's not often that this happens, but there are small "exodus" type moments that will see a number of prominent posters leave all at once. I remember when EL announced the deletion of the politics subsection: a number of frequent posters that used to hang out there (and in Off-Topic in general) all left at once, in "protest" or something.

Most of them went to Resetera and relaized quickly is was a joyless no fun allowed forum where you have to vote the right way, have the "Right" group approved opinion on any topic and hate straight white people. Then they stopped posting.
