what is a music genre that Rockstar has underrepresented in GTA?

Drum and Bass, had a whole radio station for it in GTA3, then nothing in any of the other games

Liberty City Stories had MSX 98, but that was the last. Shame, it works very well.
Its real music bruv, hopefully we get some Grime and old school UK Garage aswell đź’Ş
Only pre-2012 Grime please

but, it has no place in a game set in fictional Miami, it would be so out of place.
DnB pirate station somehow worked in 3 despite making no sense at all

But you're still probably right, at least for UKG

J-pop & K-pop

Msx was great, random for the setting though. Agree pre 2012, get some Eskibeat classics on there. Like others have said it wouldnt fit with the setting but would be good for a gritty London setting GTA though if they ever go that way again.

Panflute new-age music. I'm not kidding. Just wrapped up Hypnospace outlaw and that would be a kind of curious addition to be honest.

Yup grunge and metal stations should've been up there. Classic rock is a different genre and modern rock is often more like pop, so even further from that.

It's set in Miami, there's going to be a ton of heavy metal and proper techno on the soundtrack. They're basically the main 2 genres people listen to there. Miami's scene for doom, noise and extreme metal always surprised me.
And then the Cuban influence and Latin stations will be big.
Florida rap is mostly dogshit but it'll have a big presence too.
Yacht rock for the Florida keys will be in too I reckon.

Punk Pop.

Were is my Blink 182, Yellowcard, New Found Glory, The Story So Far, etc.

Especially when these Bands were somewhat mainstream and heavily used in EA BIG games like SSX and Burnout. But I guess at the time GTA was playing in different time periods.

Are there any games that have put any 'Shuggah song? If they did I would play it instantly

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel had a couple of songs in it. I mean the game is pretty much schlock but if you turn off your brain it can be entertaining.

Here's Perpetual Black Second blasting during a boss battle.

The game had a ton of metal tracks from other bands such as Slipknot, Skinlab and Chimaira as well.

I think they are going to include "Phonk" music in GTA6. Popularized on social media apps. Brazilian Music. Mumble Rap.

Have you played San Andreas? Radio X is THE grunge and metal station with the outlier being Stone Roses :messenger_tears_of_joy:

There's not a single Korn track in any GTA game.
The closest you get is a sample of No Way during a Liberty Rock Radio ad in GTA IV.
If GTA 6 has a Korn song I'm going to lose my shit.

Nice, I think some albums like Koloss with I am Colossus and Demiurge could fit in a horror scifi action game

Aphex Twin is great he's a genius but it's only one guy, his name is Richard D. James.
Lmfao, everybody falls for it, every time. Well, there are actual people who say that in a serious fashion. It's a running gag at this point. Since we're still here, some breakcore would kick ass as well, there is that guy Venetian Windows, can't remember the name

LMAO i see. Venetian Windows? Or Venetian Snares? Or are you kidding again?

I mean I can get the argument when it comes to Dubstep, but DnB?
yeah the florida breaks and dnb scenes were huge. I have some friends who grew up in that era and we spent many nights comparing what I was listening to in the UK circa 2000-2005 to what they were.
I've realised over the years there's a lot of snobs about raving in england who think they're the only ones that ever did it properly. and then compare their underground to somewhere else's mainstream. I had friends when I was in the early days of going to clubs that would say the US has no culture for house and techno... at the time I didn't know enough to ask them about detroit, but in hindsight it's a fucking ridiculous statement.

Here's some Florida dnb

Brega and his sub genres

Chances are that they will put Anitta or Pablo Vitar, but those are funk, not brega funk
