And why is it The 2000 remake of Gone in 60 seconds?

Fast Five was the culmination of the fast and the furious franchise. Just enough of the F&F cinematic universe was established, they finally figured out the Heist movie formula.

It was the first time the series nailed it and also before it went off the rails.

This is my pick. The last of the series that was focused on racing cars and not being an action movie.

I get why they shifted away since the audience had to expand past car enthusiasts and once you do fucking drifting in Japan you've basically covered everything in the street racing lineage.

Actual "street racing" now is the straight line stuff from the first movie except on backroads in the countryside Mexico now.

Plus this song SLAPS:

Yeah, I agree. Fast Five is my favorite in the entire series, but I’ll always love the original. It was straight fire and blew my mind when I first saw it.

I’d also like to say 2000’s Gone in 60 Seconds was a fucking awesome movie. It was the first DVD I ever watched and in my PS2 nonetheless. So cool, man.

If Fury Road counts, its that. Its my fave movie of this decade probably.

Ronin and Drive are good picks, though Drive actually doesn't even have that much driving. Baby Driver is another great movie.

Fast Five is another one that should be mentioned. Its an excellent movie that I could watch over and over, and I didn't even like the franchise in particular. But Fast Five had the right vibe, it was an excellent heist movie. In retrospect I also like the first Fast and Furious movie a lot. In cinema I didn't care for it and the whole tuning culture it spawned, but its actually a really good undercover movie. Its very similar to Point Break (cop goes undercover in extreme sports, befriends mastermind). Its very level headed actually, if you compare it to the latest installments.
