What is the best MM: Battle Network?

Ok, what is the best Mega Man Battle Network? I liked the first one when I had a normal GBA (never finished though, played like 2 hours), and I really want to get into this serie again. I read that every games is the same thing again and again, but I just want to know which one has the best story? Keep in mind that I'm kind of new to the serie.

I'd like to know, while we're at it, which one of the Zero games is the best?

I skipped MMBN4, but I've heard from people I trust it's a real overhaul and the best in the series. Out of what I've played I'd quickly say MMBN2 > MMBN3 > MMBN1.

For the Zero games, I haven't started 3 yet (hope to soon, working my way through the backlog to it) but I prefered Zero 2 over the first game.

I'm actually getting a little sick of the BN/Zero games though (they are annual after all). I find myself much more excited over the prospect of MMAC for GBA than any other MegaMan.

The only Battle Network game I have is Battle Network 2, and I can't complain. I mean I had my reservations about the series, but seeing as how I got the game for free (my mother found it in the parking lot at her work), it's a lot better than I expected it to be. I've actually been considering picking up one of the Battle Network 3 versions (there's two, I think).

MMBN2 is the best. Great chip combos, nice story and good extended activities.
MMBN4 has the best features but the worst overall design.
MMBN3 feels like a midway production... Pretty meh overall...
MMBN1 is a cute classic journey... an unpolished jewel.

I've spent 70+ hours on all of them to get all stars...
