I didn't even have a Nintendo64 let alone the game at the time, but it didn't stop me from listening to this a lot. To be frank my tastes in music overlap with my mothers so I borrowed a lot of her stuff when I was young. That and I listened to a lot of VG midis. Free music yay!

Metallica The Black Album. I also bought ride the lightning, Master of Puppets, justice for all shortly thereafter. I got hooked as my nick might suggest :P

This post ages me in so many ways. I can remember buying 3 45's (does anyone here even know what I'm talking about?) in 1978 when I was 12. Life's Been Good by Joe Walsh wasn't too bad of a choice, I still enjoy the occasional listen when it crops up on classic rock radio. But, I also bought YMCA by the Village People and Copacabana by Barry Manilow. And yet, I am NOT gay.

Just so you don't feel alone, I had a stack of 45s including YMCA, and had another Barry Manilow. Also had some Bee Gees, Queen, and even Linda Rondstadt. And I'm not gay either.

I remember buying Bat Out of Hell on tape from the local market when I was pretty young - the guy was 100% sure I wouldn't like it, but my mum knew better! haha.

First CD I got too! I don't remember what I did, but my dad was like hey I'll give the money or take you to get the Hammer CD for something. I was INSANELY hyped at the time. LOLOL

Hell yeah. Invisible Touch holds up.

ha ha, it does i think. i dont even remember why i got them.im watching the freaky land of confusion video. man that was creepy as a kid.

I listened exclusively to film music until I was 13. Then I bought Kid A after I saw the video for "Just" on MTV2 and thought it was the single.

My life was never the same.

Bought it when I was about 10, 1995ish, on cd, with my first ever allowance. I remember playing it at my grandparent's house, and my grandma actually loved it. She asked me to play it for her many times after that, to the despair of my grandfather.

I always listened to this with a girl down the street, so I never bought it.

Mainly because I downloaded everything before and after. This remains the only Album I actually bought.
A last physical album you bought thread would be good actually, I'm sure lots of gaffers have jumped ship.

Def Leppard-On through the Night and Hysteria (I remember OTTN was in the bargain bin)
Michael Jackson- Bad
Beach Boys- ? Don't remember but it was a greatest hits album.

I bought all of these cassettes at a drug store back in 87-88. I believe it was a few weeks after Bad hit the street.

Edit: Most of you probably never had a cassette tape. I remember in school we were trading them like drugs. I had to get a copy (Piracy!!!) of NWA through friends so my parents did not find out.

Still listen to it to this day. Not ashamed of it at all.

Ha! This was mine as well. I haven't listened to it in ages though as I bought it on cassette. I think I threw it out quite a while ago. I wish I still had or was able to play all my old cassettes. I had quite a few shockers!

I'm 21 so in theory I should have bought an album when I was younger but I missed the whole "paying for music bandwagon". Spotify is making me rethink that though.

Bought it a couple of months after it came out, so vinyl obviously. I spent a few weeks doing chores about the parents house to earn the money to pay for it. I was 9 years old. I replaced it with the cd version years ago. Haven't listened to it for ages, so I might just put it on right now!

After years and years of listening to my parent's records, this was the first CD I bought (93) with my own money when I was 8

First cd I remember was The Real McCoy, lol. Bought it at a Blockbuster Music way back in the day. I think my second was a little better choice with Offspring's Smash.

Oh I had tapes because of of my mother who'd love to copy stuff. I'd later get a mini disc and borrow CDs from friends to copy. Once left THPS2 on pause and recorded the whole soundtrack.

Now vinyl is something I definitely did miss and I'll never understand why people have such a boner for them. I suppose the large cover art is nice.

Motley-Crue-Dr-Feelgood-412610.jpg

Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood on cassette. Must've been about 1990 I think, I was 10. Still love Kickstart my Heart. All cassettes have been thrown out years ago though.

First cd was Nirvana - Nevermind

Well, my first Audio Cassettes where fairy tales, H. C. Andersen, Grimm, Disney etc. First a little story, then a cool song :D

My first real album on Compact Disc that i bought myself was this...

Damn, how embarrassing. Luckily i didn't like it, and i was having way too much fun with my dads Deep Purple LP's and my own Pet Shop Boy Cassettes. Must have been around the age of 8-9 :)

The first I ever bought was What's the Story Morning Glory by Oasis like a few others.

In sixth grade, I brought it with me to France, and I accidently left it there, with the family that was hosting me for the foreign exchange program. Before leaving it, though, I listened to it through the only CD player I owned at the time... my Sega Saturn.

Soungarden- Superunkown
Jimi Hendrix- The Ulitmate Experience
And thridly...

Saturday Morning Shows 50 Greatest Hits

Mind you, these were all purchased within about a week of each other when I was 13 or so and I'm still not sure which one was the best.

Before CD's were around so obviously on vinyl, it was probably Sheer Heart Attack by Queen.
First CD was Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits.
