I've spoiled myself by gaming on the bed (PS5 Pro + LG OLED CX 65"). It's so comfy and relaxing. It's the main thing makes me hesitate building a PC in the future. I really don't see myself gaming on a desktop unless it's for first person shooters. I could technically plug the PC to the TV but I don't know if it's going to provide the hassle free comfy experience consoles do.

Recliner armchair + PC, but I also like recliner armchair + consoles. It's been a while since I played something on the desktop.

Voting seems to be broken. I like ´desktop with PC. Can't imagine myself playing on couch because i couldn't focus

On the couch with console is the most comfortable.

Something just doesn't feel right playing on a PC while sitting on a couch, otherwise that'd also be an option.

I'd have also selected "on the bed w/ handheld" if that was an option, because that's comfy AF.

Playing consoles on the couch and for point & click adventure games like Ace Attorney or turn based games like Bravely and Octopath I like play handheld on my bed before going to sleep.

Currently on the desktop with pc, but in the past it was on the couch/ comfortable armchair playing consoles, simply now except nintendo mashines we get so crazy few exclusives its not worth it anymore for me to fork up additional cash for ms/sony mashines unfortunately (0 exclusives on xbox series, 2- demons souls and astro bot- both really good and i wanna play them in the future- on ps5).

At my desk, in my home office room, on my 32" monitor with a controller and headphones. I have my monitor on a stand with feet that slide really easily. Being able to pull the monitor up really close gives me a huge presentation.

Couch gaming with a powerful PC is way better than console gaming. Raytracing and locked FPS + way more games and flexibility
With Steam input you can even play mouse games with controller!

I have spent countless hours playing Warhammer Total War 3 on a controller on TV

I do most of my PS5 gaming laying in my bed with some pillows in my back. So confy i tend to fall asleep when playing games with alot of text, like visual novel style games.

And while i have my PC with option to connect it to the same tv, i usually just play it on the desk cuz the ocasional need to use the mouse or keyboard make it incovenient to be standing up and laying back everytime i need to use the windows.

If you play in bed, you're absolutely fucken disgusting. Have some respect and dignity for your body.

You should either be playing on the sofa or at a desk, either way you should be playing sat upright with good posture. Your back is the main determining factor of your quality of life.

When I found out one of my mates plays games laying in bed I told him to get me a drink. Then when he gave it to me I slapped the twat in the face and knocked him on the floor. Haven't spoke to the cunt since. Sort your life out.

Couch in front of tv. Couldn't do it lying in bed or I'd probably fall asleep easily, same reason why I don't use any handhelds to play before sleep.

Funny enough i only had back pains when i sitted upright for long periods of time. Eventually the lombar muscles get strained and back pain kicks in. Since i started playing laying in bed with good cushion for my back, never had back pains again. I guess hospitals adopt the same strategy as i never seen patients sitting upright in gaming chairs.

You are not wrong about the importance of sitting with a good posture though. But if you playing games sitting upright for long periods of time, make sure to do stretches from time to time.

Couch + console, but if it's a game that is more intense or requires extra focus, I will use a chair and sit a little closer to the TV than the couch is.

Sit/stand in front of desktop.
It's better for concentration - couch&TV is for shutting off the brain to watch some series or movie, mostly.

I built a PC specifically for the living room last year, I boot it into Steam's Big Picture mode, for controller only user interface.

99% of the time it has been as hassle free and comfy as consoles.

The last 1% of hassle comes from having to pull out a keyboard with touch pad to navigate a mouse pointer when upgrading Nvidia drivers, when installing mods from Nexusmods, when installing and adding Gamepass games to Steam, and even if rare there are games that lack controller support.

If you can handle the higher cost I'd say it's worth it. Better visuals, better performance, mods, and it can become that one box that does it all. I play Steam, Epic, Gamepass, PlayStation, Xbox games on it.

And that's why I place my vote on:
On the couch w/ PC

I play some games on another regular PC with mouse and keyboard, like first person games and point and click strategy and city builders and also Diablo.

So my #2 choice would be:
On the desktop w/ PC

But in general I hate WASD controls, it's essentially digital 80s arrow keys controls, just awful imo. So for me it's the mouse aiming that's pulling me to the desk, first person aiming with a mouse is ten times better than using an analog stick.
Switch 2 with analog stick movements in left hand and mouse aiming in right hand is going to feel like a revolution for me.

I mainly play in the couch but my preferred way is on the bed no doubt. But Civ VII is not on iPad like Civ VI was, so I don't have anything to play there.

TV in living room, sat back on the couch with feet up, warm summer afternoon-evening, back door open with a breeze coming through, slight sound of hustle and bustle and kids playing in the background echoing in, cold drink to one side. All especially enjoyable after having spent the day getting some big jobs done such as some heavy gardening, everything kinda achy in a nice way, then just relaxing back with a game.

I absolutely cannot sit in a dark room in the middle of the day with curtains closed or a headset on.

I have a home cinema setup with a kick ass HT and an Oled paired with a confy couch .. it dosent get better than this for gaming... well, its does, but my girl has to be involved.
