Im almost at the ending, but Tokyo Mirage Seasons has been a pleasant surprise
Its honestly the best rpg on the Wii U slightly above Xenoblade X, but you have to be somewhat tolerant of the not too original characters/plot and the music idol! themes, its really bizarre.
Now, this is not a Fire Emblem or Shin Megami Tensei game, the best way to describe it is a japanese entertainment RPG from Atlus with elements from both series, but its above all its own thing.
The graphics and presentation are quite impressive, lots of care was put into this from the battle stages to the attack animations, the sessions, dual arts, different magic and weapons, skills, etc. and how they affect enemies.
the scenarios all have little details and varied textures, shibuya looks like shibuya, the palace were you met Tiki is a beautiful green garden, sets are limited but look pretty.
dungeons have a lot of detail too, especially the third one and last two, one is a strange, night time Shibuya, with weird lights, eyes, cameras, model photos and shooting stars that honestly looks very nice.
Monster design is very SMT (i guess, im not familiar with it) but all are very cool looking monsters and enemies.
Sideques are kinda mandatory but if you take a liking to the characters you will enjoy them, there are like three for each character you can do anytime, and have special cutscenes, backstories and give you powerful attacks.
The worse things are, loading times get annoying and are too frequent, nothing game breaking but they are always there, weapon system is repetitive so you will get a bit confused at first, and then have to return to Tiki many, many times for new weapons/skills.as said before the plot and characteers are very anime so if you not have stomach you may get angry.
But yes. despite some problems its definetly worthy of the Fire Emblem name and i wish this wont be the last of the series on HD consoles. Atlus did a very good job its a shame Nintendo had to ruin the reveal
8.5/10
