what jrpg are you playing right now ?

Fire Emblem: Awakening, my first FE game. So amazingly good, easily my top GOTY contender so far. I haven't started it yet, but I just got The Last Story for my birthday.

got nothin guys. pretty much been playing pokemon platinum version after beating heartgold and white . after that it'll be black 2.

may as well do one playthrough of last remnant on PC

Getting into P4G again now that I've got a Vita again, also playing demos of stuff like Ragnarok Odyssey and Soul Sacrifice until I get a bit of money, then I'll most likely get either Muramasa or wait a few weeks for Tales of Xillia and Dragon's Crown.

Fire Emblem: Awakening
Why did Chrom marry HER!?

I know who you are referring to, and I feel bad that I made him marry an inferior waifu. :-(

And I finally started on Xenoblade. After fiddling with my PC and overclocking my CPU, I am enjoying this game on the lovely Dolphin.

After getting used to the gameplay, I am loving this game. I am in the beginning, I just finished a part where I felt some pain, some heartbreaking stuff. :'-('

After this, I may finally start playing Sukioden or Xenogear.

If you really feel that way about Blade, then your in for a fucking once in a life time experience with Gears. Easily better then Blade, well until disk 2:( and ToB platforming.

I mentioned it in the whatcha playing thread, but I picked up Tales of Xillia again. I've had this since the day it came out, but through a series of unfortunate events, I have yet to beat it. I'm 22 hour into my newest play through and I'm determined to get at least one path done before the English version comes out. (I'd really like to plat it, but I've been working a lot this summer, so I don't know how plausible that is...)

I also recently dled Xenogears on my vita and am thinking about starting that up. It's been a long time since I last played it, but I loved it when I was younger.

I'm nearly 40 hours into Ni No Kuni on PS3, and 87 hours into Persona 4 Golden on Vita.

Not anywhere close to beating either of them. I love them both, though. Easily 2 of my favorite JRPGs if the gen.

I just grabbed Rune Factory Tides of Destiny on PSN last night gonna start that tonight. I've also been playing DQX Beta and FFXIV Beta.

Does Final Fantasy XIII count? I've only ever seen FF13 get shat on around GAF; this is also the first JRPG I've ever played, I think. I've wanted to play it since it came out, but I held off until a week ago and...I'm actually really enjoying it.

I've just started the final chapter so I'll hopefully have it finished tomorrow. I think I've around ~44 hours on it right now. I think I'll actually be kinda sad when it's over.

I can see why people dislike it so much, the linearity does bother me, but I accepted it really early on and to be honest, the game looks so stunning to me that I'm happy to take that as a trade off. Those CG cutscenes. God damn.

Started Chrono Trigger on DS while internetless on holidays, got 20 hours in having never played it, got back home, looked up some guides, bad idea dunno whether to continue and beat the game or to restart the entire game :(

i'm just about to enter the black omen and and have done some side-quests and opened the sealed chests before upgrading them :(

so go beat the game blind or reset and do a perfectish run?

Been trying to play Radiant Historia but it's hard to not fall asleep immediately once I start playing.
Will probably get back to Xenoblade soon, which is actually enjoyable.

Beat it. If you're like a lot of people you'll be playing through at least once or twice more to see all the endings.

playing through Chrono Trigger DS, and Star Ocean 3.

i'm aware of the ridiculous twist in SO3, but i refuse to let it bother me this time around, lol.

Persona 4: Golden.

Also, I've always wanted to play Okage: Shadow King, but never had the opportunity to do so. Anyone ever play it? I remember wanting to get it when I was younger but I was given Dark Cloud as a gift instead, which was really hard for me at the time...

Edit: More than 40 hours into P4G and it doesn't feel like it's gonna end anytime soon...haha loving every minute of it, though.

after taking a long break from it I think I'm gonna pick up Xenoblade later on today and try to finish it in the next week,I'm so close to the end that I might as well

Xenosaga is one of my favorite franchises. I feel bad that I haven't played Xenogear simply based on my fondness for Saga.

Edit: I'm getting a little peeved right now. Playing Xenoblade on Dolphin is fun and all but my 360 controller is being extremely sensitive. My character is moving to the right when I am not even guiding him. I finally fix Dolphin to be hit by this major annoyance.

Played about 2 hours of Radiata Stories.
Heard the gameplay isn't all that. It's incredibly linear but the visuals are charming and I find the tone comedic and fun. Hope it's not too long though...

Actually the game was quite enjoyable and INSANELY large cast of characters. The unfortunate bit was how the story falls apart at the end...

But Id say personally its one of my timeless classics. And a damned shame it never got a sequel.

It's funny, I don't care for the battle system, and I don't remember they story, but I know I enjoyed the game. I had a lot of fun following people around the city, learning their routines and figuring out how to recruit them.

However, the save system in place is the worst that I've encountered. Man...

Chrono Trigger DS

I never played the SNES version (I know). I just beat it two weeks ago, and it definitely deserves all the praise it gets. It was kind of easy for the most part, though. I still need to complete the Dimensional Vortex....someday.

Valkyrie Profile 2 for me.

I'm about six hours or so in to it and I'm not all that impressed with it yet. I absolutely adored the original game, but the second one just seems so linear to me. Does this ever change? I love the battle system and music in it, though.

This maybe just me, but it gets WAY WORSE as it goes on. There is a very certain moment and they try to bring in characters from VP1 and it's one of the most awkwardly and poorly handled thing I've ever experienced.

Oh you've gotta play Xenogears - it's amazing. As someone who loves the Xenosaga series (and Xenoblade), Xenogears is one of my favorite games ever.

As for me, I'm currently playing FFXIV: A Realm Reborn Beta. No other JRPG atm. :(

The whole overly happy school life setting I had thought was just plain stupid. Even more so than the usual stuff that goes on in the series.

I haven't had time to touch my JRPGs in a while, so many games sitting at 20 hours in with no end in sight. It's depressing.

You're getting Valkyrie Profile mixed on with Valkyria Chronicles. :p

I liked Valkyrie Profile 2's battle system and sub-systems more than the original, but not how they handled einherjar or the plot in general.

Not sure which game I'd give the overall edge to.

Been playing Chrono Trigger on my 3DS XL for the last couple of days. So good. I even have some Logic speakers and Subwoofer action going on as well. Can't believe I haven't gotten tired of this one after all these years. Is this the best JRPG comfort food or what?

lol oh shit, just noticed that. Sorry bout the mixup!

Hmm I had thought VP2 was actually pretty good. But that perhaps was coming more from a graphical standpoint rather than storyline.

still playing Dragon Quest 4.

I REAAAAAAAAAAAALY hate the fact that I have to constantly remove items from my lead character because items that you pick up dont go straight to the bag. :/

First time playing FF6. I'm growing fairly tired of it though, so I might just drop it and agree with my hunch that it's probably just a bit shit.

Just started Lost Odyssey today, since I beat FE: Awakening yesterday. I quite enjoy it so far, though I just hit the damned
Bogimoray
boss and it's insanely frustrating. Found a guide to help me out on it, and i'll try that tomorrow. After this I might try to pick up Ni No Kuni, been wanting to give that a go.

While you might get roasted over this, have faith you aren't alone.

I don't find the game to be shit, I do however place it as the second least enjoyable game in the series, and the only 1 I couldn't force myself to finish despite playing up to the Opera scene 4 or 5 times.
