I finally completed FFVI Advance along with the exclusive Dragon's Den dungeon. It's been a while with Xenogears and Etrian Odyssey IV to a lesser extend. I still need to finish those before starting on another rpg.
Just started Etrian Odyssey 2. Beat the 1st one around the same time last year so I think I am going to make this a yearly event.
I am not sure yet how to progress. Old tactics don't seem to work anymore and the first F.O.E. is already way to hard for me... not sure if I can beat it as easily as the 1st one.
I'm playing the PS3 version of Star Ocean 4, taking a break from the Bioshock games. And holy hell, the story is so bad. tri-Ace pls.
Game is fun, but the story is so bad I think they did this to troll people. The PS3 version also has more framerate drops during field exploration than I remember the 360 version having. But the lack of disk swapping shenanigans is worth a few framerate dips here and there.
It felt way to boring and tedious. I lost interest, something that's incredibly hard for make me do.
I felt as if it wasn't going to get any better. I did invest a large amount of time into it though so I did give it a fair shot. Maybe DQ just isn't for me.
Iv even made it the very last boss in DQ9 and just did not care to complete the game. I remember liking 8 though, before my save file was damaged.
Just ordered Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl off amazon, swiped it for $27 an hour ago (looks like its gone at that price already?), never touched an EO game before but heard theyre pretty good.
Currently playing Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift and I'm surprised how fun it is. I was itching to play an SRPG but the lighter tone and colourfulness of the screenshots put me off, considering how great FFT and Tactics Ogre were, which I enjoyed thoroughly due to their more mature turn.
Learning abilities seems to take a bit longer than I expected and I find myself rotating jobs just to make use of the AP and not let it go to waste rather than having a well thought out team build. Hopefully this'll resolve itself as I get more clan members and start to specialize I guess. The story is also a bit hit-and-miss too but that doesn't bother me too much, I adore Ivalice and it's lore and it just makes me want FFXII IZJS HD so much more!
I honestly prefer FFTA2 gameplay over FFT's, just flows a lot better. Could be the slowdown issues as well ha ha. Doesn't hold a candle to it story wise though! But count me in for FF12 HD too !
I'm currently going through Bravely Default (got the town finished at last!) and Persona 4 Golden just now. Bit of a binge.
I'm actually fairly new to the DQ / DW series. I only just started when I found the DS remakes of IV, V and VI on Amazon, individually, and for good prices.
I knew VIr on DS was the first time VI had been released outside Japan.
I wanted to also play the original 16-Bit version so I looked for an English translation and have been playing it in bSNES. I've actually wanted to play Dragon Quest VI for nearly two decades.
Here's some wonderful Super Fami DQVI material to pour over thanks to Chris Covell and others.
And just today I started on PS2 DQVIII which is, amazing to say the least.
It seems that what happened with the first version of Final Fantasy 14 and A Realm Reborn (which is still happening) is also now happening with Dragon Quest X, originally on Wii, then Wii U, and now there is a X version 2 for PC overseas (and also Wii U ??)
I really do hope DQXI will NOT be an online game / MMORPG, or on a handheld.
single player, turn-based Dragon Quest 11 exclusively on PlayStation 4 in the same vein as 8, please!

As for DQ4, I'm really enjoying the DS remake. Never played Dragon Warrior IV on NES, and the western world didn't get the remake the DS version is based on, the one for PS1
I've seen this before but forgotten about it, will show it to my daughter tomorrow, she'll get a kick out of it. I work in the industry and she's already spending lots of time building dungeons and characters and game systems, but I'm a low level systems/render programmer so my office life isn't very interesting ("Daddy stares at the monitor for a week in the hope that he can make something go 350us faster.").
YS Celceta....and so far it's my favorite game on the Vita. In fact it is the best game on the Vita to me.
Looking forward to Bravely Default too. I played the demo a bit and was pleased with what I saw but couldn't put time into it. I want actual game in hand to gradually learn the mechanics and enjoy it more.

just finished ff13 yesterday. Game was pretty fun for me up until gran pulse where the pacing just come to a halt and everything became so boring. The last 2 chapters picked up the story again but it just so meh, some of the logic going on at the end really make me want to shut down the ps3 lol. Also the trash mob in chapter 13 are somehow harder than the final boss. I died a bunch of time to trash mob and beat the final boss basically holding down auto. Some really strange design choice to me.
Started and gave up on neptunia mk2. I rented it from gamefly and played for about 3 hrs. Cool little game but the graphic is butt ugly and the story is just too typical annoying moe anime for me to care. good thing it's a rental.
half way through asura's wrath now even though it's not a JRPG but i thought it's worth a mention due to the sheer craziness, it's really awesome.
I haven't been playing many this gen, was only able to complete Valkyria Chronicles 1, 2 and Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Looking to finish this before getting onto my copies of Resonance of Fate and Ni no Kuni. So far it's been good, considering that it's my very first Tales game.
I am playing Golden Sun. I'm only three hours in at the moment, but the style of the 'cutscenes' is already starting to annoy me greatly. A character will say something, then the sprite will often have some small inane animation - like shaking their head, making a frowning face speech bubble thing, or what resembles a gasp - and then the next character speaks. It really drags outs conversations.
Djinn/class systems seem interesting enough but I haven't had much time to tinker around with it.
Bravely Default Demo. This game is so fun. I should be breeding on Pokemon, but this game has a right amount of charm and technical skill that I can't turn away.
I'm around 8 hours into Persona 4 Golden and I'm loving it. Want to pick up Bravely Default but I'm worried it will halt my progress in Persona, so I'm going to wait a bit before getting it.

Golden Sun is one of those series that seemed amazing at the time (when I was in elementary school), but in retrospect was a pretty bland and broken game. Have fun!
Suikoden 3 - Got all the characters' Chapter 3's done... now on to Thomas' chapter. This broke me the last time I tried playing, but back then I was much more picky with my RPGs and less accustomed to the longer, slower-paced, more linear RPGs of the PS2 era. Now I'll take most anything int he genre... though Suikoden 3 is honestly a bit lacking in the battle system/dungeon exploration parts of the genre
Persona 4 Golden and Bravely Default demo. I was having a hard time getting into P4G as was just not enjoying the characters or story as much as P3P, but it is finally starting to click for me. Not really into the Bravely Default demo, but feel obligated to play it to carry over what I can before the release of the full game.
Also occasionally playing Disgaea 3 Absence of Detention... what a ridiculous game!
After finishing P4G I needed more, but man I've been slow to go on this one. I've only clocked 7 hours (May 23rd in game), and it hasn't gripped me at all like P4G did. The characters don't do much for me, and the story is a little too ambiguous at the moment.
I'm going to finish it, but it's taking me a while.

FFX-2. Obtained 100% in the main game a few days ago, and now I'm slowly making my way through the hell that is Last Mission. Ugh, I have no idea what Square was smoking when they made this.
Bravely Default and loving it, only thing turning me off in the game are the strange StreetPass village building system and the S points :-|
I'm also waiting for SMT4 to come to Europe so i can play that, Soul Hackers didn't click with me... sadly and i'd love to play Persona 4 but emulating it felt weird...
On a sidenote, can't wait to receive my copy of Sengoku Basara 4 in two weeks :^)
Just started Eternal Sonata at the moment. Never got around to it and was craving an JRPG to hold me over until Chronicles of Symphonia next month.
What a great game, the music and world are so vibrant and fun. Only thing that caught me off guard is how hard the game can be. Random fights can sometimes get dangerous!
