Zelda games are really famous for their musical instruments that create magical effects. So far we have had a lot of different instruments: flutes, ocarina, drums, guitar, harp, horse grass, wolf howling and even a maestro wand.

What will they do next? There's quite a lot of choices if they want to cover every orchestra instrument. Like a double bass, or a trumpet I guess? What do you think?

The bird-creature Kass in the Game Awards footage had an accordian and was playing the game's main theme. It might be that.

It might be a flute, a woodwind instrument would go well with "breath" of the wild.

It might also have something to do with the runes and the Shiekah Slate.

I don't believe that. Every 3d Zelda game has a musical instrument. I think the sheikah slate is basically like a pokedex to help give you information about quests.

I don't believe that. Every 3d Zelda game has a musical instrument. I think the sheikah slate is basically like a pokedex to help give you information about quests and stuff. The music will definitely be there.

The blue flower re-occurs at a high frequency.

Honestly, I can see them going back to a flute this time to take a guess. It is something that could be made in the wild, very simple to make a reed flute.

But really I suspect we won't see a musical item. I think the Shiekah Slate and its functions will be the main focus in interacting with the world and so something like that has no place.

While I doubt this is something that would happen, the Shiekah Slate being an analog for basically a tablet and digital device could be use to record and generate music itself. Like a magic iPod. They could have some cool mini games where you have to arrange fractured musical arrangements on it in the correct order or new orders to solve some puzzles.

Kind of like MM did with with Song of Time and Inverted Song of Time and stuff like that.
