Watched some Metro PC footage yesterday, and I know what you meanThese have been PC showcase titles for 5+ years at this point, and still are:
Cyberpunk
Control
Metro Exodus
Is Witcher 3 that much different on PC, because I'm playing it on Series X, now, and it already looks good (graphical mode) aside from 30fps framerate - but since I use Ultra Motion, it doesn't matter it too muchI second RDR2 - I completed it on Xbox one X and I thought that looked amazing, but the PC version is leagues ahead of the console versions.
Also the usuals, anything Remedy, Cyberpunk, Witcher 3, Metro Exodus, Wukong, Indiana jones.
Shit, almost everything.
For me it's shadow qualityTextures is the main reason, imo.
Returnal is one of the best high-end peripheral showcases. That game was built for 32:9 Ultrawide monitors, high refresh rates and 8000Hz polling mice.
Let's see how good will GTA6 will look on a consoleRDR2 does look better than on console, and the way Rockstar designed an entire open world where it's like Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon in that every frame where you're looking out at the landscape could be a painting is impressive. And Rockstar were lighting masters before realtime ray/path tracing were a thing.
Having said that, on a raw technical level, Assassin's Creed Shadows has surpassed it.
