What Movies Reminds Of You Zelda?

I'm trying to figure out what movies, especially classic movies from the 1980s, that reminds me of the Legend of Zelda?

I can't think of too much but Labyrinth might be one of them as well as the Dark Crystal. Legend also has a Zelda vibe somewhat.

By the way, the Dark Crystal just started on Svengoolie now.

Labyrinth and Dark Crystal like you mentioned already but these below would be the others.

Krull - with the hero and princess and even the voice of the main villain gives off the great ganon evil vibe

Hawk the Slayer - main guy is Link with his own version of the Mastersword called the Sword of Mind. His companions reminds me of the Gerudo, Gorons, Deku etc The main bad guy is basically Ganondorf lol.

The Sword and the Sorceress - The hero's version of the Master Sword is his unique 3 bladed sword that could shoot itself. Main enemy is the evil king and sorcerer. Really Zelda like vibes.

Deathstalker - the master sword in this movie is the sword of power. Not too much of a Zelda vibe though.

Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer which you should all know already.

Red Sonja, a remake version of Link that has to face a female version of Ganondorf. A evil empress that wants to conquer the world with a powerful artifact.

I just watched that movie about a year and a half ago. Before that it was a long time ago since I've seen it and it still holds up as a fantastic movie.

Don't know if you've seen this. A.I. is getting crazy.

Man, I fell down the rabbit hole with these things one night. Trailers for The Jetsons, Flintstones, Thundarr, a many others. Some were terrible, and some were really good. There’s just something about the uncanny valley vibe that draws me in. They really nail the announcer voice too.

Now I have to look for Thundarr:messenger_tears_of_joy:

It is interesting that people are comparing it more to fairy tales than sword and sorcery fantasy.

The Harry Potter movies kind of reminded me of Zelda.
with each movie as a dungeon, and Harry finds a magic item in each one, and I imagine him actually keeping them and he just has all the artifacts on himself like an rpg character.

Mad Max, hear me out lol

To me Zelda shows a mesmerizing world, the same way I felt the world building happens in the Mad Max movie. Every second I keep exploring something new about that world same as playing Zelda.

Mononoke is pretty much the Zelda anime adaptation. It even has the unique gameplay gimmick that ties to the story (Ashitaka's poisoned arm).

Legend from 1985 is the main movie that makes me think of Zelda. I’m sure Shigeru Miyamoto took some inspiration from it.

Oh yeah. A Zelda done in an 80s style with practical effects would be great.

It has to be old Zelda. Not the new stuff.
