More internal storage.

I'm hoping for 500gb minimum, but knowing Nintendo they'll probably just give us 128gb.

Return of the Virtual Console.

I don’t want to sign up to Nintendo's online service. Give me the option to purchase classic Nintendo games individually!

party chat (best case would be Discord support),

an actually good online service at least on the level of where XBL Gold was on the 360,

a mode to run Switch 1 games in docked quality while in handheld mode, and a toggle to save battery life by running the original portable mode,

VRR!!! I can not emphasize how much of a win this would be. both in docked mode on the TV but also a VRR capable screen on the device itself.

HDR, VRR and Vsync. I think we are going to have those.

256 GB, the NAND chip went public as part of the shipping lists. It's not perfect but at least it can store every game to ever release this gen.

Well the name Switch 2 sounds Like Switch To... So something transforming. Maybe an attachment like a small screen or something else, Nintendo DS again with more power. Perhaps a Amiibo thing, you can shoot with ehh.. like a toy gun per USB. Something wii and wii u revolutionary

Better Joycons that won’t have all sorts of failures, specially the rail/lock system and joystick drift, but also the shoulder buttons. Hands down the worst controller hardware I ever owned and I’ve had all sorts of controllers for almost 4 decades.

OLED screen on launch, an online service that isn't from the year 2000 including built in voice chat, a built in messaging system, achievements, servers for all first party nintendo games etc. They also must have graphics that rival the series S at least because anything under that is a joke especially because this thing will be 400 dollars and lasting till the year 2030 and beyond. 4k tv's are the standard now and no one wants to be playing 1080p or under on a switch 2 at 30fps because nintendo decided to use junk hardware once again.

Steam Deck Oled has spoiled me. Oled screen, hall joysticks for non little folk hands, and an upgrade to 1080p screen would make me interested. Nobody in our house enjoys switch games on the big screen anyhow and all want portable devices.

There are just four things I want out of the second switch, power around a PS4 to PS4 pro level, a real d-pad on the Joycons, an Ethernet connection on the dock from the get go, and backwards compatibility with the OG switch. I feel like most of these are fairly sure fire bets, but I do worry that the D-pad on the Joycons may not be a thing.

I want to see wireless streaming to the dock.

Going even crazier, I want to see wireless streaming to other peripherals, specifically a “dummy” VR headset. Allowing you to keep your Switch 2 in your bag doing all of the processing, and have it wirelessly broadcast the A/V to a headset.

FWIW, I think it miiiight happen.

If they're going to end up shutting it down like all previous iterations of VC why even bother. They should just put the games directly as rentals.

PS4 to PS4 level of graphics is going to happen, the FF7R games is proof o that… D pads on the joycons kills one of the Switch features so not happening, Ethernet port is going to happen and the BC was already confirmed.

I want pointer controls again. Best way to play shooters for the insane amount of accuracy. RE4 on the Wii was made crazy easy even on Professional just because I could pull off nothing but head and knee shots.
I hope RT is not one of then…
If it's using Ampere, won't be a choice. Doesn't have to be used, but it will be capable.

I mostly just want a more powerful Switch, but in a perfect world it would also have:

- Some kind of sensor or camera attachment for the rumored top USB-C port that would allow it to mimic the Wii's sensor bar, so that we can get proper Wii ports (either remasters or just emulated on Switch Online, I don't care). I want to play Sin & Punishment: Star Successor again without having to blow fifteen years of dust out of my Wii. Also, it would be sweet to have a console that could offer a true light gun experience again.

- Overhauled joy-cons with analog triggers and control sticks that don't start drifting after six months. It'd also be great if they tweaked the form factor of the joy-cons slightly so they're less likely to give your hand cramps during extended play.

- I understand why Nintendo won't add a true d-pad to the joy-cons, because they need to be able to function as standalone controllers, but it'd be great if they made a pro controller with a d-pad that wasn't complete shit.

Things we might get: Hall effect sticks, rear buttons that are used for more than just detaching the joycon, and maybe improved tracking for motion controls (maybe even a basic form of inside-out tracking in those joycon windows... but probs not).

I'd honestly like to see something weird and wacky from Nintendo--touch-sensitive scrolling buttons/triggers, a cheap "pro controller" add-on that's just an shell with a d-pad and control stick that are tracked by the built-in IR cameras, head-tracking "3D" in handheld mode, heavy use of streaming to non-Nintendo devices like cell phones, static-driven texture simulation on the thumbsticks... really anything that's off the wall and "wut?" worthy--but I think they'll be playing it pretty safe this time around.

I hope that Nintendo turn that shit off in the devkits, so no one can use that tool. But i know is not going to happen, we are going to have games running at 240p but with “glorious” RT enabled.

I don't need any new features, but would love if they made a version with form factor like Steam Deck.
It's so extremely uncomfortable to hold the Switch after getting used to Steam Deck, Rog Ally etc, and the new one seems to be just like the regular Switch in that regard.

Thankfully there's third party stuff that makes this better, but usually there's some downsides to those (lack of rumble etc)

Edit: DLSS 3 would of course be very nice. And hopefully it's in place.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Good motion tracking would have been nice, enabling things like lightgun games (proper, not vaguely and inaccurately) and realizing the promise of stuff like Wii Sports Resort and Red Steel 2. Not likely to happen sadly, we'll get the same tilt & gyro crap as on the Switch, DualSense etc., oh well...

Some kind of upscaling/performance boost for older games

but that way they can't sell you a re-re-remaster so it might not happen

Maybe not a return of the VC, but just put their classic games up for sale individually on the online store.

Voice chat
Achievements
Functioning online store
Actual useful filters to find games in this endless pile of trash
A UI that doesn't suck
Actual third party app support one can take seriously
Internal storage that can hold more than one game
OLED
A body that doesn't bend from overheating
Analogue sticks that aren't shit
An actual dpad
Grips that people taller than Bilbo Baggins can use without breaking their hands

Be able to have your own online ID like you could on Wii U, I'll never understand why they went back to codes for Switch

A console and not a fucking PC.
No install.
Close to no updates, and very small ones.
Cartridges.
Starting the console and a game takes a few seconds.
A proper controller with a good Dpad.
A home-console SKU.
No AI bullshit.
No wasted power on useless effects or features such as Ray Tracing.

Considering it's an Nvidia SoC, it's very likely it will have RT and Tensor Cores for DLSS, or a Nintendo made temporal upscaler with AI.
