What system do you think will have the best 2k5?

PS2 easily

GC (RE4 and Zelda, thats about it) > Xbox (Conker and Jade Empire)

2004 will always be known as year of the Xbox

IF Xbox2 is released then Xbox 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all (Perfect Dark Zero + next gen hype :D)
 
What system do you think will have the best 2k5?

Sales wise or games wise? But the latter is mostly based on opinions so this topic will eventually lead to no good. :)

PS2 has Suikoden 4, Dragon Warrior VIII, StellaDeus, Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, Ys IV, Final Fantasy XII, Degital Devil Saga 1/2, etc.

Gamecube, as usual, has a very impressive 1st party lineup.

I say PS2, by a hair.
 
I'd say PS2 because of the RPGs, Katamari 2, Genji, FFXII, Tekken 5, RE4(late but still coming), DMC3, Wanda, DQVIII (although I played through most of it already), GT4, and the inevitable sleeper hits and surprises.

PSP could have a nice lineup also, I have a feeling the stuff thats been announced for this year is nothing compared to what we'll see.
 
Although GC has some killer games out (RE4) and coming out (LoZ) I have to go with PS2 because of: DMC3, FFXII, KH2, GT4, Wanda, God of War (looks amazing) Xenosaga ep II (even with the hate) Champions:RTA
 
Who the hell knows, there's bound to be surprises.

I think the PSP is the obvious answer, but this board likes to pretend that it's going to have a blase reaction here...or that the DS is actually exciting.

I honestly think that if there is really really a Mario 128 coming this year for GC that they will have perhaps the top 3 games of the year. Not even including a lot of peripheral titles. That would be pretty amazing considering 2004. I hope it's true.
 
Didn't Capcom say they are going to bring RE4 onto the PS2? Oh well... Whatever system has the best RPGs will be the best for me... and (as shocked as I am to say this) it looks to be the Xbox!
 
It better not be the xbox because i'm selling mine on friday.

I'd want to pick the Gamecube because RE4 is incredible and i'm sure Zelda will rock, but there's what, 15 gamecube games for the whole year or so? Unless they start announcing tons of GCN games, it will be a slow year.

With that having been said, my vote goes for the underdog, gizmondo.. ... ... *tumble weed* ..

You are going to have to BACK THIS UP with a list because there's no way next year's Xbox RPGs are surpassing PS2, even with Phantom Dust and Jade Empire.

That much, at least, I can damn near guarantee.
 
Yea, what are all the RPGs on Xbox? Granted it has the only one I'm really interested in (Jade Empire) but I'm not a whore for the genre.

This year PS2 RPG releases = PS1 like year for RPGs. Meaning godlike.

Seriously Jade Empire + Phantom Dust is not enough to topple what will, again, be a massive year for PS2 RPGs.

I am not saying for everyone..just for me... I am kind of cheating because I am dropping KoTOR II in my 2005 lineup since I have not played it yet. The only game I am looking waiting for on the PS2 is FFXII, already played DQVIII since I live in Japan. This is just my opinion about what I am waiting for... sorry if I didn't produce the list you wanted....

This is like a really shit year for rpgs on ps2. Aside from FFXII and possibly phantom kingdom(because i have never heard of it) the rest are sub par. The good stuff came out last year for the ps2 imo(shadow hearts 2, SMT, SO3).
 
Like I said, I think a lot of Jpn PS2 2005 stuff is just un-announced currently. I went through Amazon Jpn's upcoming list and after about april there's like nothing besides FFXII/KH2 listed. Since the final years of a system tend to be it's strongest, I think around E3 the remaining 2005 stuff will get revealed and hopefully there'll be some big name rpgs in there (new Tales...new XS? :P)

For me personally, Gamecube.

RE4 : SFA : DKJB : DK2 : FE : LoZNext

Great balance, hopefully Killer 7 will be great. I'm sure there's a couple of other titles I'm leaving out.

If I was still interested in the classic RPG system I would say PS2 because this year has its heavy hitters. But after games like Valkyrie Profile, Tales of Symphonia, and especially Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi, turn based RPGs just bore the heck out of me. I find too much of just pressing the confirm button, with little to no strategy. But that's another story.

I'm not into racing either, so GT4 has no effect on me and I think that's it for the PS2 releases.

Aside from Jade Empire, Forza, and Conker, what else does Xbox have coming?
 
With FFXII, KH2, Ookami, DMC3 and much more craziness, I would have to plump for PS2.
Although DS could have a few trump cards with Mario, Animal Crossing and Advance Wars...
 
There is that Square game... Radiant... something something... Looks pretty standard to me..

Wild Arm's new battle system looks pretty good from the trailer I saw in a game store today..

I think it's pretty obvious that PS2 will have the better year.

Xbox and GCN will have their share of AAA stuff, but PS2 will probably end up having as many as both of them combined.

Final Fantasy XII doesn't count as a rehash? There were only 11 games before this new one.. I know it is opinion... but that just made me shake my head...

I would stand by what i said if it wasnt for DQ8 >_<. A collection of sub par rpgs doesnt make it the best year for ps2 rpgs. I still think the previous year was superior if only by a small margin imo.

Xbox does have the weakest year true, but its coming off an absolutly fucking amazing year.

Jade Empire, Conker (Xbox Live killer app), Splinter Cell 3 (Xbox Live killer app) Lesser known titles like Strangers Wrath, DOOM3 (Xbox Live killer app) and Mercenaries
 
AS of now the PS2. Because Sega Rally 2005 is coming. Dunno when in 2005,but I do know its coming,thats all I need to know,this elevates the PS2 to the number one status in my book.
 
XBOX...Jade Empire. Or, perhaps, Xenon. GC's already having a better year, thanks to RE4, than last. PS2...hmmm...solid, I'm sure. Dunno really.
 
2005 is definitely Nintendo's year.

the DS will be much stronger than PSP.

The cube will get the best games- RE4, Starfox, Zelda, Fire Emblem just for starters. Jungle Beat, Kirby. Not to mention Mario 128 if it comes.

And then of course there's revolution.

C'mon, what has Xbox actually got coming out this year? I'm struggling to think on a SINGLE game that would get me excited.

Obviously PS2 has GT4, MGS3 on PAL and a few others (millions of EA games no doubt), but even it's lineup is looking pretty weak.

But the only three to get really excited about are DQ, FF and Kingdom Hearts

God I can't believe Zelda will be out this year. And E3 is in 4 months. 2005 still hasn't sunk in yet. O_o
