What the hell, I'm still a Junior Member...

Sorry for the bump of an old topic, but since junior members can't post new topics, I ended up having to find the junior member / member post limit, and found this topic as the closest thing relevant.

Ok, so I'm a junior member who originally joined in June of 2004, and am still a junior member (so apparently it's not a time-unlock procedure). Off the bat, I'm not one of the recent flood of junior members. Still, after searching through the forums to find the post count number that will eventually get me to an official member, I've got nothing.

So, here's the question: when does it normally happen? I ask cause I occasionally post new topics to ask GAF help on things ranging from places to visit in new york to advice/comments on the latest electronics or stuff, and can't do so now cause of these new rules. Not that I have any specific question right now, mind you, but it'll come.

Or, do the people with tags other than "junior member" still get to post new topics (in other words, if I hypothetically act like a fucktard/troll/etc. and get a demeaning tag, do I get to post new topics regardless of post count)?

Yeah...

Yeah...

It's based on your number of posts, not your tag. A demeaning tag will net you no thread-posting benefits.

Tweaked it, some of you lurkers will benefit... specifically people who registered in the month or two after NeoGAF launched.

I can't remember if I changed from J.Mem to Mem at 100 or 200. But I've been on and off these boards for about 4-5 years or so... pretty much with the same name (Used this name now for 3 years).

....What the hell is going on around here? So some Junior Member compares this place to Nazi Germany. To continue with that analogy, if you're Jewish, living in Germany, and haven't been taken away to concentration camp, would make a big deal out of it?

"Hey, you guys said I couldn't make new topics! But I can! Look! I'M MAKING A NEW TOPIC FOR NO REASON. BECAUSE I CAN."

Check the date that the thread was started. It was started by another junior member, but before the new regulations.

I just replied in the most relevant topic I could find in order to ask a question, man.

Why the fuck do people care that much about (temporarily) losing privilages they had before but never found important enough to use when they had the chance?

If you're a lurker why should you fucking care? It's not like you were contributing anything to the forum BEFORE when you were allowed to pin your bullshit up on the front page.

I'm glad to see there's no hard number being posted... I don't think it's good to give new members a "goal." Unless we want a spike in "Post count +1"s

Ok, people get the idea, and again, if you registered when NeoGAF launched then you aren't going to be affected.

FYI, posting just to raise post count will do you far more harm than good.
