What was the most fun/worst time you had getting a platinum trophy?

So, I just platinumed infamous second son maybe 20 minutes ago and it was probably one of the best times I have had getting a platinum trophy. Considering the last platinum I got was for Danganronpa and it was one of the most tedious platinums I have ever gotten (fucking school mode). I decided to ask both

1) What was the most fun you had getting a platinum trophy?

and

2)What was the worst/most tedious platinum trophy you earned?

For me the most fun I have had getting a platinum was in Metal Gear Rising, Persona 4 Golden, AC4

My worst are Crysis 2 and GTA V (one of the most tedious, mind numbing platinums I have ever forced myself to get)

My first plat will likely be infamous second son since it's super easy apparently. I can't be bothered otherwise. Second son will be the most fun.

Guacamelee's my first platinum, and I had a damn fun time getting it.
I've only attempted Platinums with this and Hotline Miami, though. Have every trophy for it except Always on Top, which I probably won't get since there's not a good way of tracking progress on it.

1) I had the most fun with Mirror's Edge, even more with the 100% (so including the DLC) because it forced you to get even better ratings in Time Trial mode
2) Most tedious BlazBlue: CT because of the online trophies.

Only have bf4 and Infamous SS. I was mainly 360 last gen and my most enjoyable 1000gs (well and dlc) was fallout 3 when I was ill for a few months.

Most fun: surprisingly it's probably Burnout Paradise

Worst time: Resonance of Fate battle arena grinding was a chore, or Legend rank on Skate 2

Most Fun: Gravity Rush

I didn't like getting trophies before this game, but I loved playing it so much that I wanted to do everything and kind of stumbled on the Platinum trophy. After that I was hooked.

Resogun was also a pretty fun and challenging one.

Least Fun: Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Holy shit, those touch control fights are a bitch, especially when you only get a few tries on the harder difficulties. Farming for the collectibles you're meant to get through Near (which I still don't really understand) was also a real pain in the ass.

I haven't got it yet, but getting the Platinum in Rayman Legends is just awful. Being #1 on a daily challenge is next to impossible.

Sleeping Dogs was the perfect platinum for me, only a little bit grinding but I didn't really mind. Except maybe the cock fights.

Great game.

My favourite was probably MGS2, since I'd never bothered with the VR missions before, and it gave me a reason to. There's hours of really great stealth gameplay in there, my save file for the VR missions alone is over 50 hours.

My least favourite was Metal Gear Rising, since it also required me to bother with the VR missions. The difference being that the VR missions in MGR are fucking horrendous.

Infamous 1 and 2. Would platinum them both again. Oh, and the Sly games. So basically any Sucker Punch game, they're a top studio in terms of gameplay.

As for worst, any Uncharted. Trophies/Achievements just don't work with linear games.

Stick of Truth and Guacamelee would go at it for my favorites, followed by God of War 1 and 2 which presented a good challenge without being grindy.

Worst so far has been Resogun, if only for the fact I'm not huge on Arcade games.

Most fun: Mirros Edge (my first platinum); Snake Eater

Worst: GTA IV (damn online trophies)

I have plats for Last of Us, Red Dead and GTA V but really enjoyed their online modes, so ranking up just came naturally.

Worst time was easily Ultimate Ninja Storm 2.

You had to 100% the game and then fill out the notebook which had 50 or so of its own achievements, one of which was win 50 battles online. The game was barren and the only people left actively cheated.

The platinums I've had the most fun going for have been Skate 2, Skate 3 and more recently Infamous Second Son.

My definite worst has gotta be Resistance 2, mainly because of the 10,000 kills trophy. I had started trying for it by just playing online but I had started late into the game and by the time I had started, everyone was bunny hopping around with the chain gun making the game extremely un-enjoyable.

The only one I have is Arkham City, and it was great to do because I loved the game. Otherwise, I usually don't have the time or inclination to trophy chase, and I don't even bother with anything with a lot of online multiplayer trophies.

Only have 1 platinum and that's Hotline Miami. I love that game but man it can be some BS sometimes.
Well... Maybe there wasn't any BS but I sure did scream a lot trying to get that plat lol.

The most fun I ever had getting a platinum was Saints Row 3. According to PSNProfiles it's also the platinum I got the fastest.

The worst platinum I ever forced myself to get was Tomb Raider (2013). The SP trophies were fine. It was that horrible multiplayer you had to grind through. I only bothered because I already had all 3 plats from the TR Trilogy. I'm not bothering with the plat in the PS4 version.

I also gave up on the Batman: AO plat despite having both the AA and AC plats.

Sleeping Dogs probably counts as both for me.
Enjoyed doing the story, 100% and whatnot, but, the cock fighting trophy was tedious as hell.

Most Fun
Not quite a Platinum as I was a 360 geezer before the PS4 came out, but my favourite 100% cheevo score was on Oblivion. They were all a simple "finish every guild" and "finish the main quest", and I loved it.
I didn't have to play in any novelty fashion that took away from the game, I didn't have to restrict myself, I just had to play and enjoy, and it was great.

Most Tedious
Any multi-player achievements anyday. I cannot stand multi-player achievements. They are always a grind, and the fact that one day, you will never be able to unlock them as the servers have been shut down / the game is empty really puts me off them.

I only platted one, and that was the original Crysis, and the last one i got was for killing guys with thrown objects. so i think that was my fav when you toss a random propane tank at a guy and he dies.

Most fun is probably tied between: all 3 infamous games and mini ninjas. (Among those might be the easiest as well or maybe that is Sly Cooper 1). EDIT: Fun now is a tie between Sleeping Dogs, Mini Ninjas, and Infamous 2 due to being less tedious than the other infamous games. Second son follows close as one of the most fun.

The worst time was probably Sly Cooper 3 or Jak 2. Both games annoyed me. Sly Cooper might be my longest platinum at over a year. It upset me so much I had to stop playing the game for quite some time. (FFXIII was also somewhat of a chore but that was closer to time consuming than frustrating).

Sleeping Dogs probably counts as both for me.
Enjoyed doing the story, 100% and whatnot, but, the cock fighting trophy was tedious as hell.

Damn, that platinum was also really fun. Cock fighting didn't seem tedious. Relatively easy. You have a 50/50 win rate. So you just have to bet max money and load a save if you do not win. Goes by pretty fast.

*checks trophy list *

Ok let's see :

The most tedious was probably either infamous 1 ( the shards dammit the shards ) or ar tonelico qoga ( i had to finsh the game 11 times ) but i love rpgs and the tonelico world

The most fun are everything else. if i have a platinium trophy , it means i was having fun .
So if i have to choose the most fun it would be either dragon dogma dark arisen or project diva f

Wait ... burnout paradise it is
The one Most fun is certainly this one

Going for the platinum in Just Cause 2 really does expose that game as the colossal piece of shit game it is. Yeah you've got a huge sandbox to explore and cause carnage in, but what a shame that after about three or four hours, you've seen practically everything that huge sandbox has to offer. Want the platinum? Prepare to do the same shit over and over again ad nauseam for 50+ hours. And that hijacking the helicopter QTE can go straight to hell.

Most fun would have to be something like Mirror's Edge or LittleBigPlanet. Trophy lists that don't require you to repeat the same objectives or tasks over and over again, but instead mix things up and keep it diverse. Mirror's Edge had you completing the game without firing a gun, speedrunning the chapters and completing the time trials in order to get the platinum. Challenging, but immensely satisfying.

Most tedious I haven't earned is persona 4. Namely the risette trophy and its easy to mess up the book trophy and the all social links trophy. Tedious because if you mess up you have to start the game over and you lose hours of progress.

Only plats I actually have are infamous 2 and resogun. I didn't think they were very hard to get.

I'm pretty much a newcomer to PSN with my PS4.

But so far Infamous is the worst time I've had attempting to get a platinum trophy.

I didn't even hate the game, I enjoyed it for the most part but the idea of replaying it as Evil and doing it all again makes me cringe.

That game is just uber repetitive.

Most fun: Mirro's Edge.

mirrors-edge-iphone-packshot.jpg

Worst? If it's not fun I stop trying, so I only platinum if its fun.

Probably Kilkzone 2. That top 10% of all multiplayer players was one thing, but fuck you Col Radec.

Runner up might be Battlefield BC2. Stab a friend 5 times in a match on PS3 where it's almost impossible to start a match with a friend on the other team.

Currently trying to platinum Infamous 1 and it is pretty tedious. The stunt list is really annoying in that it is easy to kind of screw yourself by the end of the game if you have completed all of the districts and enemy spawns are minimal. If you require something like 'knock three enemies off a rooftop at once" left, then you are mostly shit out of luck. Some side missions make the stunts easy to pull off, but they are a one and done deal and generally you can't reference the list to see what's left.

Same problem occurs with XP gain for earning all powers. With few enemies and no more sidequests, it is very easy to finish the game and have a huge number of needed XP leftover to buy all abilities. So tedious to grind the pitiful few enemies that randomly spawn. Playing on Hard also limits how much XP you earn compared to lower difficulties making that playthrough a pain unless you plan ahead to ignore sidequests and activities until post-game when you can safely switch back to easy.

Finally the 350 blast shards...even with a guide they are a pain since they only ping to the small radius of the minimap, meaning LOTS of wandering and checklists to find the last few remaining.

Infamous 2 fixes a LOT of these issues though. Very simple Platinum to earn that is less tedious. Haven't played the vampire DLC or Second Son yet to compare. But I can't wait to get Infamous 1 out of the way with my final evil run.
game is still kind of fun though, but buggy and not close to being as optimized or pretty as the sequels

Resistance 3 was fun to get,

Ascension's was annoying because of the difficulty of the pre-patch trials, and overall that game's fights were annoying. Too much enemy spam.

I've only attempted Platinums with this and Hotline Miami, though. Have every trophy for it except Always on Top, which I probably won't get since there's not a good way of tracking progress on it.

That was the last trophy I had to grab and I got it yesterday, if it helps you want to go on chapter 5 as there are two rooms with respawning weapons on the first floor.

I hated the trophy art for JC2. Personally I loved the whole total carnage thing all the time or just finding different ways to mess around. (Like tossing a grenade at a car and wiring two people together so they land on the hood of the car as it explodes) Messing around in different ways is what made it fun for me. Different types of enemy bases was okay too. It is repetitive. You have to really like the premise behind it to handle it and even then it can be a chore

Pure blade stone - Demon's souls

Still haven't gotten it :(

Yes. I farmed for about 30 hours and never got one, so I sold the game out of rage.

More than two years later, I bought the game again, farmed for another 20 hours and finally got it.

Most pure fun for me was The Last Of Us. I LOVE the multiplayer, so getting those trophies was a breeze, and by the time I finished my survivor playthrough I'd already collected almost all of the other stuff required for the trophies. Basically a stress-free platinum.

Most fun? Maybe Arkham Asylum, though the one Shock & Awe challenge was fucking annoying I really enjoyed the rest of them, and the riddler stuff was nice and manageable there. Went kinda out of control in the sequels.

Worst, Assassin's Creed 1 achievements. Requires collecting 400 of those fucking flags, on top of killing 60 or so templars, and one for hitting every dialog with Lucy. I actually have no idea why I did this, I just returned to the game around 2 years after playing it out of boredom and just hit a guide and went to work. Even then, there is no way to track anything in the game itself. The giant kingdom area had 100 flags, when I had 99/100 the 100th spot I checked didn't have the flag...so I had to recheck every single spot. And you don't even get anything for doing this, there is not even a line of text acknowledging this whatsoever. Actually, this was before trophies on PS3 so on that version it is even more pointless.

I had a ton of fun getting the Big Boss ranking on MGS4. And though I was doing it more for the in-game rewards than the actual trophy, it was after trophies got implemented. Then I figured maybe I would go for them all since I had the toughest one. After seeing the requirements for the Chicken emblem and killing enemies on easy mode for about an hour I gave up on that one.

I got the Stick of Truth platinum yesterday. Very easy platinum to get and very fun too.

Jak & Daxter The Precursor Legacy is a joy to platinum too, I love getting all the collectables in that game. I thoroughly enjoyed completing Sly 1 and Sly 2 as well.

In fact all 15 games that I have platinumed have been really enjoyable. I guess the worst might have been Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus due to having to purchase the last armor which costs 1.5 million bolts. I thought I would be able to do it in two playthroughs but it took just under three to save up enough bolts.

I dunno which I had the most fun doing, as most end up having something that's really annoying and bog the experience down, but the bad ones are easy to recall.

The challenge modes and trials in Street Fighter 4 were terrible.

The Souls games have some surprisingly bad trophies, doing the checklists of getting all weapons/armour/magic/upgrades aren't interesting, fun, or challenging.

I didn't even bother going for the Plat in Shadow of the Colossus because I just didn't want the game being the kind of miserable experience whoever designed the trophies wanted it to be. Going all over the place to get all the fruits, shining lizards and shrines? Really dumb.

Most fun: Silent Hill Downpour
It's a quick game if you just run through it. Also, the platinum trophy wasn't hard at all. It's mostly collecting, beating the game on different difficulties, and getting different endings.

Worst: South Park The Stick of Truth
Lots of missable trophies, that I actually missed. I had to replay the game 3 times, and each time having to do all the sidequests over again. It's a fun game, but having to replay the game over and over again. Wasn't. It was pretty long, unlike Downpour.
