What was the most fun/worst time you had getting a platinum trophy?

I posted the most fun and the worst but I just thought about most satisfying. And that would be the game: Bulletstorm.

Its not an amazing game but it took some work to get the platinum due to some multiplayer stuff that was hard to do. In single player, getting all the skillshots done was a bitch. Thank goodness it had stacking difficulty. To this day, it is still my rarest trophy.

I had a lot of fun with Batman Arkham Asylum, Bioshock, Killzone 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and Fallout New Vegas.

The hardest ones, were the ones I could never complete like GTAIV, I only had the one multiplayer trophy left, but I had hated the grind before I got to that point. Lost Planet 2; because it soon became impossible to match global leaderboards in the timetrials.

There were truly tedious ones, like Final Fantasy 13. Or like James Cameron's Avatar the the Game:The movie:the game, where it asks to play the online multi for 8 hours; I loled and played as host in a match and left it overnight.

And oh, there wasn't a platinum, but the horror game Amy was a pain in the ass to get 100%....

I didn't even bother going for the Plat in Shadow of the Colossus because I just didn't want the game being the kind of miserable experience whoever designed the trophies wanted it to be. Going all over the place to get all the fruits, shining lizards and shrines? Really dumb.

I decided to kill all the lizards, so I meticulously kept track with a map of which ones I killed (which took a long freaking time). Killed what I thought was the last one and the trophy didn't pop up. Immediately quit and never looked back.

Most fun? There have been a few...

PS3 - Burnout Paradise, X-Men Origins : Wolverine, The Saboteur
Vita - MOTORSTORM RC, Guacamelee!, Tearaway

Wolverine is rather under rated, and although it is a touch grindy with some skill building, I played through the game 3.5 times back to back to get it and never felt bored by it, it was just dumb fun!

Worst...

PS3 - Tiger Woods 11, game mode that required 24 people to start.
Vita - Plants Vs. Zombies, Ridge Racer

I can't believe I grinded out Ridge Racer, PvZ is also on that list because of the pre-patch trophy to get 3 Diamonds, which I eventually got about a week before the patch was live and they changed it to ANY 3 of a kind... fuckers!

Most Fun: Infamous 1

I loved this title and remember missing only one trophy on the good side my first time through (along with a couple of collectible ones). When I finished it I immediately started again to play the other side. One of my favorite games last gen and one of the only games I have played through twice without a long time gap between.

Least Fun: Sega Genesis Collection

I used a trophy guide to get the plat. Still feel like such a cheater...was not enjoyable at all.

Worst? If it's not fun I stop trying, so I only platinum if its fun.

+1. It's hard to believe for me that there's people who get Platinums in games they don't like. The only way i Platinum a game is if really, REALLY like the game enough to continue playing after i finished the story.

I'm working on my most tedious right now (Star Ocean: The Last Hope International), but as far as platinums that I already have...

1. Most fun was LittleBigPlanet 2. That game is just a joy to play, and creating levels and playing created levels was infinitely more fun.

2. Most tedious was Tales of Graces f. It was either this or FFXIII, but this was much more tedious because it was harder to earn some character's titles. That and the difficulty-related trophies didn't stack (which made no sense), so having to beat the end boss no less than four different times was a pain. And the Eleth Mixer...ugh.

My three most fun platinums are Vanquish, BlazBlue Continuum Shift, and Metal Gear Rising. Shit got so real on Challenge 6 in Vanquish. Chapter 4 lobby Revengence battle, and those damn codecs almost messed up what was otherwise a very enjoyable platinum, but the game was too fun for it to have ruin the experience.

BlazBlue is my most proudest one though. The hours I poured into that training room with Hazama and getting my ass kicked online was worth it.

The worst:

WWE12. Never bought another wrestling game after that one.

I don't go after platinums anymore though. MGR might have been my last one.

Most fun is probably tied between: all 3 infamous games and mini ninjas. (Among those might be the easiest as well or maybe that is Sly Cooper 1). EDIT: Fun now is a tie between Sleeping Dogs, Mini Ninjas, and Infamous 2 due to being less tedious than the other infamous games. Second son follows close as one of the most fun.

The worst time was probably Sly Cooper 3 or Jak 2. Both games annoyed me. Sly Cooper might be my longest platinum at over a year. It upset me so much I had to stop playing the game for quite some time. (FFXIII was also somewhat of a chore but that was closer to time consuming than frustrating).

Damn, that platinum was also really fun. Cock fighting didn't seem tedious. Relatively easy. You have a 50/50 win rate. So you just have to bet max money and load a save if you do not win. Goes by pretty fast.

It was mostly due to the having to load whenever you lost. It just killed the momentum of a fun and non complex platinum.

Jak 2 was actually my most rewarding, due to how challenging it actually was. Getting golds on the races was so damn satisfying.

Most fun so far was me was KZ: Shadowfall early on playing with GAF. Made the MP grind not an issue at all (except for air drone/buddy drone) as I was having a good time.

I enjoyed The Last of Us. I hated the MP at first, but grew to enjoy it. I did not mind playing the game three times either.

MGS4 was pretty fun too minus the really grindy parts. I think my Big Boss run was a bit easier the second time through. I also discovered hidden things I would have otherwise not seen thanks to the trophy patch.

Despite how the ports turned out, I like having the Silent Hill 2+3 platinum trophies because I love those games so much. Fuck that green hyper spray though.

AvP 2010 was tough and the most grueling because of the horrible multiplayer. As an Aliens fan, I couldn't resist having a platinum titled "not bad for a human". There used to be a xp glitch which made two time-consuming trophies a breeze to obtain, but it was patched. Also, in doing so created a glitch where gained experience could be lost if you didn't quit to the main menu after each match. That coupled with the ridiculous matchmaking made for a very long time commitment. After fifty-one hours I finally finished it. I think I spent more time looking at the menus than playing that game.

Most Fun:

X:COM Enemy Unknown - Ironman run was a nail-biter but super satisfying.

Sly Cooper 1 - Ridiculously easy but in a fun, relaxed sort of way. Platted it over the course of a weekend.

Hotline Miami - Any excuse to play more of this game, it's music hypnotizing you into a joyful murder-rhythm, is ace by me.

Worst:

Just Cause 2 - Getting that Perfectionist trophy (75% completion) was one of the most grindy things I've ever forced myself through. It wasn't hard per se, but it got so old after a while and there were so many locations, etc... that clearing an area would only bring you up a percentage point, if that.

Ni No Kuni - First off, I love this game. If I was to just play it through and not care about the platinum, I probably would've been better off. That Familiarologist trophy (collecting 250 different familiars) was a grindfeszzzzzzzzz. I would still recommend the game but would warn people away from the platinum.

Torn:

Vanquish - Definitely up there with X:COM as having one of those "fuckyoufuckyoufuckyouuuuuu!!!!" platinums to achieve due to Tactical Challenge 6, but so god damn satisfying when it's over.

Most fun? Hmm I dunno, I'm about to get the Dragon's Dogma one which has been really great. Rayman Origins was good too.

Worst was MGS4, minimum of 8 playthroughs to get every emblem? I don't know why I did it.

Most fun: Sly Cooper 1. Took me about 20 hours to get the Platinum and it was great the entire time. Followed by Jak & Daxter 1.

Least fun: BioShock Infinite. 1999 Mode. 'Nuff said.
Resistance 2 - Killing Machine trophy. 10,000 kills in competitive multiplayer. If you haven't started on this now, you're screwed.
Vanquish - I haven't even gotten the Platinum yet for this but....Challenge #6.

I'm profoundly lazy and move onto new games very quickly after finishing the main story of whatever I'm playing.

The worst time I've ever had getting a platinum trophy....Resistance: Burning Skies. That game is hot garbage.

The best time? There is no best time because I have one super-shameful platinum trophy.

Hoping to platinum Infamous: Second Son, though...

Most fun - Sleeping Dogs, BioShock
Least fun - Dark Souls. Obtain all weapons, obtain all miracles, fortify all enchantments to max...
What a list of bullshit.
Honorable Mentions - Nier, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition. I got super close to these, but just gave up. Those last few are soul crushingly brutal. Also Just Cause 2 I swear that low flyer one is glitched

I had fun with Burnout Paradise.

Most tedious was God of War games... I didn't like them that much, but I wanted those easy Plats.

This will be easy, as I've only platinumed two games.

Most fun: Dead Space 1
That game came out of nowhere and knocked me flat, I fell madly in love with it and replayed it over and over. Platinuming it basically took no particular effort. I don't recall ever doing anything specifically just to get a trophy, I got them all in the course of simply playing the game a lot. (I'm pretty sure it's on record as one of the easier games to platinum.)

Least fun: Assassins Creed 2
Don't get me wrong, this too is one of my favorite games of all time. But platinuming it required finding 100 feathers strewn around the cities, and I insisted on finding them completely on my own. It wasn't the hardest thing I've ever done, but I remember the last few were a major bitch.

The first plat I earned was God of War 3. Enjoyed every bit of that game. The only trophy that gave me problems was the one where you had to survive this part of the labyrinth without dying. Other than that, it was the most fun I've had getting a plat.

Currently I'm still trying to get the Dyad plat. As much fun as I've had, the last three levels are pissing me off. I just can't get the trophy for them. No matter what I do. If I do ever get the platinum for Dyad, it'll be a mix of both.

Worst/Most Tedious Platinum

Final Fantasy XIII.

Most Fun (by default)

Final Fantasy XIII.

Only have one platinum trophy. I decided that I had to experience 100% of FFXIII to fairly confirm that I hated it, because my initial thoughts regarding the game just had to improve after delving into what must've been a deep, enjoyable game that lived up to its namesake. They didn't. Not even after the 1000th turtle fell beneath Vanille's orgasming eidolon. I really, truly wanted to give it a chance.

Turns out I was right all along!

Best time

Hannah Montana The Movie Game - everything was so happy and cheerful

Worst time

Warhawk, because no matter how much I played, I could never get close to getting the platinum.

It was mostly due to the having to load whenever you lost. It just killed the momentum of a fun and non complex platinum.

Jak 2 was actually my most rewarding, due to how challenging it actually was. Getting golds on the races was so damn satisfying.

Oh, I see what you mean. It was one of my last trophies and besides that, I only had to load twice so I guess it was better for me.

Coming off of Jak 1, I just couldn't stand Jak 2 but I knew it was something I could accomplish if I tried. I wanted to overcome the challenge. I thought Jak 3 was superior to 3 and glad I ended on that one.

Most fun: Killzone 2. Warzone was something else. So rewarding.

Worst time: Can't think of any. Probably Assassin's Creed 3. Getting 100% completion was not fun.

Just got a vita, so im just platinum my two first games.

Persona Golden, even if its a long road, is a fun one, the trophies are basically beating the game doing everything two times, and that already what I wanted to do so Im having fun.

Gravity Rush, is really easy to platinum (only 3 days) the thing is.... is not fun. The game is good but oh boy, who ever thought it was a good idea not putting a retry button in the side missions (I mean if you fuck up at the beggining and you want to retry inmediatly, not beat the mission so the button appears) needs to step down from game designer. Same with the programmer who thought it was passable to have 20 seconds of loading when you want to retry a mission. Its funny because the game takes less time loading exiting the mission to the normal map, than actually reseting the event to try again. So when you are trying to do all this sidemissions is actually not fun to play. And at least the first problem was so easy to fix (with simple testings of the game) it just baffles me they didnt add a pause and retry button.

Shadows of the Damned was probably the most fun. Certainly the most memorable since it was my first.

Most tedious (yet still oddly enjoyable) has to be South Park. Damn missable collectibles without using a guide...

Most fun getting a platinum? probably Infamous 2 , it is easy to plat and also fun to replay with a different karma

Also Hotline Miami , although it was kind of hard to get A+ on every chapter it was extremely satisfactory

Worst one? Mafia 2 , there were too much posters to collect

Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is my most fun platinum.
Such a great game, and it didn't have any grindy trophies, as my other platinums do.

Most Challenging: Thor: God of Thunder - The final boss on the hardest setting took me 3-4 hours alone. Rest of the game was a cake walk.
Most Fun: Bionic Commando (2009) - Because I'm the king of the swingers Oh, the Bionic VIP, I reached the top,and didn't stop and crushed the old VIP. (
Joseph "Super Joe" Gibson
)
Worst: Borderlands 2 - Now I loved the game, but the trophies, omg them challenges, stupid Jimmy J3NKN5. You all know what I am talking about.

Most Fun: South Park Stick of Truth, Heavy Rain, Resogun
Not Fun: Burnout Paradise (MP), Uncharted 1-3, The Last of Us (again, MP bullshit)
VILE: Dead Space 3 (had to play the game 5 times to get it. Such a bullshit), Bioshock Infinite (3 playthroughs - UGH)

Infamous 1 and 2. Would platinum them both again. Oh, and the Sly games. So basically any Sucker Punch game, they're a top studio in terms of gameplay.

Ditto, amigo. Got inFAMOUS 1 & 2 plats and just finished good play though on SS. Got all trophies except story based ones for evil play though. Will have it by this weekend. Woot.

I loathe whoever thought it was a good idea to have that Hardcore Risette Fan trophy.
Got it on my first playthrough. Just grind each dungeon with different teammates, get hit by status effects and specials, and use teammates knock down and crits. I wasn't even expecting it so it was a pleasant suprise on the
Izanagami section, I think first mini-boss.
My favorite platinum so far, because I adore the game faults and all.

Most fun:
Tekken Tag Tournament 2: This is how you do online trophies in fighting games, Capcom

Tales of Graces f: Same here for RPGs. Instead of having you play the whole game on 3 difficulty grades you can reload your save, change difficulty and replay certain boss fights.

Heavy Rain

Most tedious:
Dead or Alive 5/Plus/Ultimate: Atrocious online mode devoid of any fun. Suffering through 100 online fights was enough for me so that I didn't even bother starting the other two.

Street Fighter X Tekken:
PS3 version: 500 online fights, activating Pandora 500 times, activating several other things 500 times - are you kidding me?
Vita version: Much easier and less time-consuming but comes with an ad-hoc trophy effetively killing any chance of earning the platinum for me.

I don't try to platinum games since at that point they are not fun anymore. But the closest I ever was to get one was with Dead Space, didn't even realized when I got around 90%. Also got close with Tomb Raider, but I don't even try online trophies, so it never was going to happen. I might try with Second Son since I'm having a lot of fun. I was going to do an evil run anyways, and I wouldn't mind the challenge of finishing the game on expert.

Most fun: Catherine, every trophy is a unique, worthwhile challenge.

Most tedious: Demon's Souls. Stupid rare drops.

Vanquish - I haven't even gotten the Platinum yet for this but....Challenge #6.

Challenge #6 is so much fun once you get the hang of it. Just takes forever.

Most fun: Catherine, every trophy is a unique, worthwhile challenge.

Challenge #6 is so much fun once you get the hang of it. Just takes forever.

Man, Catherine is a lot of fun, but just imagining trying to do some of those puzzles in hard mode gives me nightmares.

Most Fun: Tough choice between Vanquish and Arkham Asylum. Asylum might take the cake because it wasn't as frustrating, but the satisfaction I got from vanquish has been unmatched by any game since.

Most Tedious: The Last of Us
Still one of my favorite games ever, it's just I replayed the game like 5 times straight and followed video guides to do it. The game is freakin amazing, I just played it wrong.

For the record, and I'm sure you all agree, an ad-hoc trophy is a supreme dick move. I love my Vita but I have only met one other person in person who not only owned a Vita but had it on him at the time.

Sadly we had different games in our systems. -_-

Most fun was Burnout Paradise
Least fun was Bioshock, trying to complete game on impossible without vita chambers..

The platinums I've had the most fun going for have been Skate 2, Skate 3 and more recently Infamous Second Son.

My definite worst has gotta be Resistance 2, mainly because of the 10,000 kills trophy. I had started trying for it by just playing online but I had started late into the game and by the time I had started, everyone was bunny hopping around with the chain gun making the game extremely un-enjoyable.

Most enjoyable - I only have one, fallout 3 but it's a beauty and easy if you make a smart character and start hacking every terminal you find.

Kudos to you though, I was sure I'd get that R2 one but I just couldn't stay. It was a good game though I still have ps friends from that coop
