What was your luckiest day ever in gaming?

In the summer of '96, I reserved an N64 at Toys R Us for $30. I walk in on launch day and they just handed me the system at the check out window and didn't ask for any money. In hindsight, it wasn't the most ethical thing to do to just walk out of the store, but being 14 years old, I wasn't thinking on that level. Turns out years later, the financial consequences of my actions would rock the very core of this beloved retailer as they would file for bankruptcy and shut down all locations. It still pains me to think about the damage I've done, but yeah, an N64 for $30.
You were the straw that broke the camels (toys 'r us) back.

That some rock to be carrying on your back. 😅

Not so much luck, but I used to work at Blockbuster Video 2000-2002 and got to play the games a day or two before they were released and then return them for people to rent on launch day. I never told anyone, no harm done.

probably last year, the day major nelson announced retirement, there was a "glitch" in the MS rewards system that gave people who tried to redeem 1 month gamepass 3 months instead. i was able to pad out my subscription to the max 3 years using 1/3 of the points. i was lucky enough to catch it during the 3-4 hours before they brought it down.

other than that back when i was a kid somehow i managed to rent an import / pirated super mario's bros 3 from japan months before it released here in the US. no clue how it was at my local video rental store. somehow it worked on the US NES as well.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
i once managed to fuck a chick from WoW AND score all the lucky aces:

* she was an actual female and not a guy pretending being a female
* she was hot as fuck
* i didn't get any stds

I dunno, probably the two times I got Kos-Mos in Xenoblade 2 in the early game. I hear some people had a very bad time getting her. I guess it kinda balances the horrible grind I had to endure to get the Pure Bladestone in Demon’s Souls (my cousin got that one like, on his second try).

Playing the UC3 MP summer beta early back in June 2011 (with a HK account). And then getting a Subway beta code from GAF later on.

Good times...

When PlayStation used to have their fan conventions, I went to the one in San Francisco prior to Bloodborne's release and went to the panel where Miyazaki spoke. During that panel, I shouted out "Praise the Moon!" While pointing out the Moon displayed on the screen that was the cover art for the game. Miyazaki immediately froze for a second and looked at me as if I knew something about the context of the moon being a major part of the games' story.

So, yes it was me who coined the phrase (or at least that's what I give myself credit for)!

Edit: or wait maybe it was the one in Vegas, I forget.

My friend (former bartender and current landlord) met her husband on WoW. Great people that I'm very fortunate to have in my life. I rent out a beautiful 1 bedroom back house from them for a very good price.

Was working for a video game store a long time ago and wanted to try out what we all thought was a Blue Stinger demo for the new Dreamcast in the back room. Since we were able to take games and stuff home, I asked the boss can I try it out for a few days and they said you can have it because it’s just been sitting in the back for awhile. Ok cool.

Got the “demo” home and realized after over 2 hours that this is a very long demo. I’m thinking, this couldn’t be the full game, could it? Turns out it’s was the full game. Nice.

Must've been when finishing Shenmue for the first time. I had some kind of feeling of gratitude for what I had experienced.
