What will be the first problems with Xbox 360 ?

No damage control here... You're probably just in denial that you suffer from an ailment such as tinnitus, causing you to hear a constant roaring noise in your ears. Ouch. Maybe you should have turned down the volume knob on the stereo when you were younger. Anyway, I'd have that looked at next time you're at the doctor's office.

Next!
Silly xbots.

Actually, the joke's on you. I'm not an Xbot. In fact, my life has been dedicated to seeking vengeance for my dear departed grandfather.

Do you remember this infamous mugshot?

bill-gates.jpg

That was taken after being arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico for driving while under the influence. He may not remember or even care anymore, but on that fateful night, his wild, drunken antics caused him to lose control of his vehicle and blindside my grandfather, causing him to lose control and plummet to his death over the side of a cliff.

It is a secret I've held close to my vest for far too long, but soon I will extract my revenge upon Mr. William H. Gates.

Yes, and when you turn it on, infants will die, women will be raped, and villages will burn.

Summary of your post: "I'm not buying an X360."

Thank you for your contribution.

I'm not. But those are three things that I see as potential concerns.

Go back to being a faux mod. :D

Hey now, I take my job very seriously.

As serious as my posts in this thread.
I was about to say... how can you take that job seriously.
That's like being a cop in the ghetto and given a fucking squirtgun dude :lol

xbot dmg control to the max right here, that would explain me alone in the store (seeing how i manage) and how i have all my systems turned up and can hear the xbox360 fan over the gamecube + ps2 + xbox regular game menu music playing from demos..
We need to buy one of these to verify his claims:

And don't forget, he has to use it on the PS2, GameCube and XBox as well so that you, great savior of console statistics, can compare the average noise generated by the three current-gen consoles to the next-gen fan blowing giant that is the XBox 360.

Well, I do plan on shrink wrapping each of the consoles (with their power blocks), and dipping them in water to acurately measure thier volume.

Seriously though, that power block is waaaay too big.

I dont remember my GBA SP having one of those.

You know how Sony is including the PSP system holder in the Giga Pack? MS should have a powerbrick holder. Something that will keep the block floating an inch above thr ground as to not hurt the carpet.

We spoke a lot about the list of BC titles, and the launch games, etc...

What I'm thinking about right now, is what the first problems will be for the Xbox 360.

I think the first problem we will run into, at retail, are people getting the Premium Pack, and they will see a component cable mixed with a composite cable for the first time.

Imagine you don't even know what component is, and you get a cable with 6 endings. I'm pretty sure a lot of people will plug the red component output in the right speaker input and they will wonder why the sound is weird.

Second problem will be, I think, people who don't understand why some Xbox games work on the machine and some don't. They will call stores, thinking their 360s are broken.

Hellraizah....to be completely honest with you, the answer is quite the nobrainer....

Two high profile racing games available at launch and NO STEERING WHEEL AT ALL!!!

isamu, this answer will not be accepted until you post a pic of your gold Samurai Showdown 2 cart. Don't think I'll forget.

LOLOLOLOL. Man, you really wanna see a pic dont'cha? Well unfortunately it's at my aunt's house in Georgia and buried in her garage somehwhere. She looked but can't find it :(

I'll go down there next summer and see if I can find it and take a pic for ya :p

All I know is I;m going to buy the first third party cooling solution that becomes available. I have absolutly zero doubt that this thing is going to be prone to meltdown.

The first real problem? or the first problem that gets posted on one blog, picked up on by several more blogs and then claimed to be an epidemic when everyone is referencing the same one story?

The First X360 Problem: 22 Trampled in Line at Local Toys'R'Us.....
I predict what will spark it is when isamu takes a swing at some little kid that had the last copy of Ridge Racer.

Riots and death threats to EB employees after people find out our allocation was FURTHER cut from 22 to 18 units at launch.

Yeah, we have this early opening, we were originally getting 22 units at launch; and our first 20 preorders would be allowed to come in early to get their systems in peace (6:30 am !) -- anyways, microsoft cut our allocation yesterday to 18 units (premium; we donno how many cores yet).... so we have to tell four more people htey arent geting their units, even after they already set their time... sigh.

stupid Microsoft.

d

I don't know if I'd call this a "problem" per se, but one of the things I noticed at X05 is that people kept on accidentally hitting the Circle Of Light button, which is fucking annoying because it brings up the menu blades in the middle of the screen. This happened a lot in DOA4. It's a bit like accidentally hitting the Windows key while playing a PC game...

People saying WTF to the $60 price tag on most of the games. $65 with tax.

I don't know about that so much. We're already getting introduced to $50 US PSP games thanks to Rockstar and Electronic Arts, and I never heard of a consumer backlash. Isn't there a chance that'll be considered the price to play, and the scheme will be accepted?

*after playing CoD2 demo on 360* ...jaggies...
Was the demo you played at Wal Mart, or something? modus is right; the demo you saw must have been on a 480i screen. They had a screen with the correct resolution, 720p (or whatever), at the Best Buy in my town. The demo had no jaggies at all.

If you think its too big, why hasn't one person complained about the PSU for GC? Hmmm?

Yes, its half the size of X360, but I don't know why people are crying over the size of it.

GPU overheating. Seems to be a (somewhat) prevalent issue with kiosks, and I think someone from 1up posted something about their X360 having problems.

So when does it become big enough to complain about?

Btw, the GC one isn't even 1/2 as big, at least not the PAL one.

I live in California, so I have the US version, and ours are pretty much half the size, I'm not sure, because I didn't hold the 360 PSU yet.

For me the first problem will be no matter when I get it mine will somehow fuck up. So has double dipped my wallet twice and now MS has double dipped me with my Thompson probably. I'm gonna wait for the 360 BC list to pan out and box will probably make it until then. Still I wish them the best but there's bound to be something and the other side will use it for ammo no matter how minsicule. For their sake I hope it's nothing cause MS can't afford a legitamate and substantial hardware misstep.
