What would the story/tone of a Marvel Black Panther film be?

Marvel should apologize and do Age of Turner D. Century.

Yeah, but the concept is dated. They'd have to re-do him as a guy stuck in the 1990s, looking like this.

I'd buy a thousand copies

Age of what?... *googles*

Turner D. Century was a young man with dark hair worn in the style of 1900, and a handlebar moustache of the sort popular at that time. He wore a costume consisting of typical summer clothing as would be worn by a young man of the middle classes in the year 1900 in the United States—a straw boater hat, a striped jacket, and white trousers.

His motivation was a hatred of the social changes that had come about since the time-period he idealized (the period just before World War I), and many of his crimes involved striking out at things or people that represented, in his view, these changes.

Powers and abilities:

Century had no inherent superpowers. He owned and used an umbrella that concealed a flamethrower, and rode a tandem bicycle (the rear seat was taken by a dummy wearing fashionable women's clothes of the pre-World War I era) that could fly by unknown means.

Turner also built a "time horn," a device intended to kill those under the age of 65 by ultrasonic waves, but instead induced unconsciousness.

OK, now I want this to happen so much.

Monarch living in the shadow of his father, who has many internal enemies and rivals to the throne, and who is just now revealing a modern and technologically advanced African nation to the rest of the world? Politics has to be a part of it for this movie to not just be "black batman." Wakandan/American politics shined in Priest's run.

Basically this ^ but to make it easier for the viewers give them an easy to relate too chaacter like the US envoy, Everett K. Ross (who to make it even easier is a shield agent) as the man who goes into Wakanda to idk get Vibranium rights and happens to arrive as all this is going down. So just as the viewers have to deal with culture shock Ross can deal with it too in story. Also make Klaw a representative of big business (or perhaps a name of a multinational NGO) and it becomes a lot more feasible (and modern) when we see they are displayed as an evil power trying to rob a country of its resources (maybe do a slight dig at fracking?). You could even have the Klaw company attempt to usurp the throne by maybe trying to assassinate T'challa and Ross helps him defeat the assassins that would strengthen their mutual respect.

I would end the movie with a quasi attack on Wakanda by idk robots or something whatever and you would see bp lead the wakandan's to victory (thus establishing the idea of Wakanda never being defeated) and that BP will join the avengers as a diplomat of his country to the rest of the world (similar to WW)

hmm, should be something about BP protecting his country from people/aliens who want his tech/resources. Should have a traitor within, should be that dude that challenged him for chiefdom. Sounds legit.

That's sort of the plot of the Ultimate Avengers 2 animated film

Marvel are really dropping the ball with this one and I feel their continued wait till phase 3 mentions are lame. At this point their will be a squirrel Girl movie before we see a Black Panther one.

Prove me wrong Marvel.

What about David Oyelowo?

You might know him from Red Tails, The last king of scotland, Jack Reacher, etc.

He's a little short and small, but he certainly has the acting chops to pull off a great BP.

Evans was 29 when he did Cap and Hemsworth was 27 in Thor. I think Marvel will definitely go for someone closer to 30 for BPs debut.

Supernatural thriller/Mystery/Action Comedy/Romantic Adventure featuring a nonlinear narrative.

Loosely based on the first part of Priest's run, "The Client". Everett K. Ross will be played by Jennifer Lawrence (call her Eve or something) and Aldis Hodge will play the part of T'Challa. Lots of action, add a love triangle, and keep Mephisto.

Aldis Hodge?

Hell yeah. Age of the Panther, baby.

Rich African country made rich from oil deposit but secretly helped by the stash of vibranium only know to the royal family. Secret gets out, HYDRA comes for it. king dies, son who is off to university and doesn't want anything to do with tradition of being the black panther comes back to avenge his father

and so on and so on

I like this idea. Throw in a decently recognizable villain (Count Nefaria? Klaw? Baron Zemo? Grim Reaper?), a cameo from Captain America and you have yourself a hit. Being a Marvel movie, you could even have Coulson be the one to inform him that his father is dead.

Klaw wopuld make more sense and i prefer if AIM comes for the Vibranium rather than HYDRA
