What You Want To See In A New 'Legacy Of Kain'?

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
It seems like something is up in the air between the re-release of Blood Omen, remasters of Soul Reaver 1&2 and an encyclopedia and tabletop role-playing game in the works.

My guess is they're going to see how well all this goes over and either continue or reboot (hopefully a soft reboot and not a complete reboot) the series.

So what would you like to see in a new game in the LoK series?

Raziel is cool but I hope Kain is the protag in a new game.
Dark Prophecy would have been such a cool game. You were going to play Kain and exploring the Demon Realm. That whole concept sounded really exciting.

I have a theory that the Elder God is actually a demon from the Demon Realm that somehow took over the wheel and the Spectral Plane. He's a demonic parasite devouring the souls of the dead to become larger and more powerful.

You think there's high demand for a LoK game? Not being an ass, just genuinely want to know from your perspective as an obvious fan of the series.
The series is held in very high regard with gamers 35-70 years old. I’m currently playing through the original again, via the PS5. I had pre-ordered the remasters to make sure I got the discount.

I think a continuation of the story is in order. I think there’s more to be said. Where the last game left off is a little too tragic for me. I’d like to see a more fitting ending for our duo.

I'm definitely on the lower end of that range, but I remember enjoying Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2 when I was a kid. Will be interesting to see how the remasters do.

As much as I’d love to see it, half the VA cast is dead and god knows who would be available from the original writing team to provide the quality the game deserves. We’d probably be better off getting Amy Hennig to write a book of it instead.

You really think Embracer is going to risk it with a high budget LoK game?
If the recent remaster and these recent ports will sell enough to show there is a demand for this IP, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't. That being said, it'd probably be a AA game though

I don’t want one. All the people behind the games are long gone elsewhere or just dead.

It doesn’t fit anywhere in the modern gaming world and would just be shit (see Dead Sun and how awful that looked)

Can’t wait for a completely different tone, shocking writing and traversal via yellow paint paths.

who cares? the people who made Bomb Rush Cyberfunk have zero relation to the Sega devs that made Jet Set Radio, yet they made a spiritual sequel that improved on the original 2 games in many ways, while keeping the tone and gameplay instantly recognisable.

Sonic Mania also says hi. fans made the best 2D Sonic ever, decades after the last good 2D Sonic games came out.

??? it's just an action adventure. have decent combat, decent puzzles and good level design, done.
basically make Darksiders 1 but in the LoK universe with a spectral realm shift mechanic. 🤷

I too expect most modern AAA devs to ruin it. however, if whoever would greenlight a sequel isn't fully retarded, they would look precisely at games like Bomb Rush Cyberfunk or Sonic Mania and look for people who are hardcore Blood Omen or Soul Reaver fans to make such a sequel.

see the System Shock Remake, which was clearly made by people who respect the original and didn't want to insult the intelligence of the fans of the series, even tho they changed a ton of stuff, arguably making a superior game in the process.
