What's better?

OO SNAP YOU WENT THERE

Yes, if you have trouble memorizing time to brush up. Memorization should be one of the FOUR CORNERSTONES of gaming!

P.S.
i'm sorry i stop liking a game after it is recycled fifty times :(

Maybe! But just to warn you, if it's F-Zero GX... consider yourself owned in advance!
:lol fzero is not what I'd call complicated. RTS is more my field :)

I wasn't implying F-Zero GX was complicated, I was just listing a non-dual shock game that I'm really good at.

But, LOL, you chose the ONLY genre I'm not good at. And it's completely un-controller related too. RTS is one of my favorite genres that I can never master. There's gotta be some sorta formula to getting the mechanics right so you can participate in high level play, but I always do something wrong! I focus too much on farming, too little on military... too much on military, too little on agriculture! I will break the code. It's all greek!

Any of you ever try writing a FAQ for a PSone/PS2 game?

I always dreaded the PS controller symbols when I did.

Now that's an awesome reason for forming a preference! :lol

Letters > Symbols

And for good measure:

Plus-style D-pad > Disjointed D-pad & Circular D-pad

Oh, one other important thing:

SOMEONE PLEASE BRING BACK THE ALTERNATING SNES CONCAVE/CONVEX BUTTON STYLE KTHXBYE

Oh no man, you really need that mouse, so it is controller related. You also need to memorize and extrpolate A LOT. Hence I'm mentioning it.

Usual beginner mistake is to focus too much on yourself and not the enemy.

CVX stole my reason!

Also, if you like Kingdom Hearts, you're a shitty gamer and should seriously consider going back to skool to brush up on those skillz. No way around it. Not even a little! Shame!!

Yeah but I have no problem with the mouse/keyboard (and prefer it like 1000x over standard controllers for FPS/RTS). I got myself some really complex hotkeys and everything, I'm real good at shooting all over the map and allocating people to their jobs. My problem is in focus. I can't ever get the formula right or something. One game I'd be all sending my troops immediately to annoy an enemies villagers. In another I'd hold back and build a little wall so I can build up my army a little more before I went out. In still others without walls (Like Rise of Nations, my favorite) I'd just be all over the place :P

But that game is weaksauce and easy! Now accounting for taste, well, that's another story entirely! I fully admit that it is an anomaly accepted only for the fact that I am a Disney fangirl!

I swear, I had to either do ASCII art for those symbols or write them out. Obviously seeing them in the FAQ would be far easier but would take a little longer to do. :lol

I think sony just wanted to differentiate themselves or something stupid like that.
Some countries don't use roman letters, it may be a part of the answer (asiatic ones, firstly).
That and difference, probably...

Fun layout of ABXY with GPX2 :

By the way, the order of the symbols on PS has its own logic :
Circle - 1 stroke (A)
Crux - 2 strokes (B)
Triangle - 3 strokes (X)
Square - 4 strokes (Y)

And that D-PAD! I don't think any D-Pad has come close to how great the SNES one was...

Just how Dots-Lines-Waves-Circle has it's own connection. Not that either are particularly good.

I'm going to write a general self-help book and get featured on Oprah. It will be based on this sentence. Consider yourself robbed.

Indeed! Only a weaksauce easy fangirl who should consider continuing her gaming education could love a turd like Kingdom Hearts!

The rule is you're allowed one anomaly. But that you can't choose Animal Crossing as that anomaly, because that disqualifies you from life.

for real, every time you mock animal crossing ami I'm going to think of that utter shit monkey kingdom hearts that you are pimping!

If you want to ally yourself with the devil. There is some semblance of an excuse for liking Kingdom Hearts (because it's actually a game, and because DISNEY)! But Animal Crossing is like selling your soul. Once you admit you like it, you forfeit your right to participate in gaming discussions with the big boys.

awww shite.

I like both equally. Anyone who doesn't is an uncoordinated simpleton or a Nintendo fanmonkey.

Edit: WTF this is a Pokemon thread now?! Fuck dat shit.

Pikachu, I choose you!

It is a good choice. This is actually a pretty easily defended game, my personal view is that it just needs a big evolution in one of its games down the line.

I'd love a MMORPG Pokemon.

I do admit that KH's aesthetics are awesome and very charming.

KH Pros -

+ Visuals
+ Music
+ DISNEY

KH Cons -

- camera
- battle wonky
- gummi ships suck
- dungeons/areas really weakly designed
- scenarios sometimes not fanwhorish enough. where is darkwing duck?

:(

I'm convinced PaRappa the Rapper was originally made so that people could get to know the PSX face buttons better. It worked on me, they're second-nature now.

I pity both camps. Both AC and KH suck.
Indeed... and anyone who registeres any perceptible difference in suckage between them is simply nothing but an incompetent, Ntarded, shitty, skillless fangirl who should've listened to daddy. Period.

"Know the enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles you will never be in peril. When you are ignorant of the enemy, but know yourself, your chances of winning or losing are equal. If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain in every battle to be in peril."

ABXY, easily - the only reason I know the ridiculous sony symbols is because Parappa the Rapper and Um Jammer Lammy forced me to learn them. To do so, I had to invent mnemonic devices so they'd stay in my head (triangle points up so it's at the top, circle is round and next to the edge-curve of the DS2, etc.)

Wow.

I honestly don't give shit about the button labels, the DS2 is IMO one of the comfortable controllers around. it's all about memorization once you know where each button is placed, letters, numbers, shapes, symbols all of that become second nature.
