it was offensive because people only saw that oneThis was offensive at the time. Sony had to take it down and publicly apologise.
"Whilst the images used in the campaign were intended solely to highlight the contrast between the different colors available for the PSP, we recognize that the subject matter of one specific image may have caused concern in some countries not directly affected by the advertising," the company said in a statement. "As a result, we have now withdrawn the campaign."
Was just supposed to run in the EU I think. But this was a pretty dumb gaffe from a marketing perspective across the board I'd think.
The classic Gayboy Ad.
looooool forgot about this.
Sega Europe's PR department wrote the rule book on this stuff, even back in the Master System days.
This was Stevie Wonder’s thing. I remember when he was the musical guest on SNL and they had this little ad:

That’s not offensive. That’s hilarious.
All the PSP Squirrels ads are famously weird and nobody would try it again in current year.
I dunno if it's offensive, but there was an ad in Edge magazine where they had a picture of a plucked cartoon dodo with a bunch of real feathers between the pages and the text "don't be a dodo" or something, I don't even remember what it was for (I'm sure Guru Larry would remember).
It was incredibly silly and I think they apologized for publishing the ad.
I think people would be offended in the modern era if you omitted 1 of them from each era. Just different groups would be offended. I can see the chans, certain reddits and certain forums getting pissy because of those two images you posted, without the other one.it was offensive because people only saw that one
Put all three on sight and only someone from modern era would be offended.
Sure, that's why i said all 3 on sight.I think people would be offended in the modern era if you omitted 1 of them from each era. Just different groups would be offended. I can see the chans, certain reddits and certain forums getting pissy because of those two images you posted, without the other one.
But the first image with no context would have offended a lot of people in any era past the 60's in Britain and the US.
Having played in that era I can say people were shooting up in the clubhouse like it was candyIf you can’t handle a magazine cover than good on the company making them.
Anyways I’ll go baseball
I wish there was something so free and absurd as to get me offended, but everything is so neutered now that even offense is pasteurized. Its super hard for me to find offense in most things
I grew up in a different time where we weren't looking for things to offend us.
This one is just fucking wild no matter when, where or why lol. Imagine how many people had to go "yup, good idea!" for this to show up in print. That's the craziest part.Does this count?
Jo Guest, the arse that launched a thousand wanks... Total babe back in the day
I was wondering how long till some Battlecruiser 3000 AD ads would be posted.
Was just about to write this, wow.Man I miss the 90's
"It's a great feeling, fighting for your race against the parasites who wish to annihilate them and helping to usher in the coming Vril master race" - Westwood gamesDoes this count?
Yes. The social media cancer did not exist.I wonder if there is a connection between the offensive era and the offended era?
I remember loving this cover as a kid but can't remember what was inside it.
Fuck this edition in Mexico
and fuck the editor of this edition
Hide the ladies, bois, we have José Canseco gracing us with his presence.Having played in that era I can say people were shooting up in the clubhouse like it was candy
He was destroyed for the things he said but he wasn't wrong on most of his statements on roidsHide the ladies, bois, we have José Canseco gracing us with his presence.
Does this count?
I said God damnDoes this count?
Technically you need a TV to game, so this counts:
Hahaha that's brutal
Christ can only imagine the fucking behemoth wide loaded chick they'd employ for that ad nowadays
This ad ran in North America as well:
Nobody cared. This one is just fucking wild no matter when, where or why lol. Imagine how many people had to go "yup, good idea!" for this to show up in print. That's the craziest part.
You could already hearing the woketards screeching ‘RAAAAAAACCCCCCCCIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSTTTTTT if this were out today.
My favorite lol
Speak for yourself, I eat the most exquisite, healthiest organic grass like a cow.Stuff like this is only offensive because it's treating gamers like total loser sex crazed morons with disfigured dicks. When we aren't just that, we also like junk food.
I probably had about 900 of them myself. Her top shelf work was amazing. And (to me) she got better with age.Jo Guest, the arse that launched a thousand wanks... Total babe back in the day
I'm aware. I was a teenager in the 90s.Nobody cared.
A culture that viewed edgelord teenage boy humor as insignificant in the grander scheme. A beautiful time.
That happened at the time. You could already hearing the woketards screeching ‘RAAAAAAACCCCCCCCIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSTTTTTT if this were out today.
