What's the absolute worst game you paid money for in the 7th generation?

I don't play that legitimately bad games thanks to the internet. I would put Kid Icarus up there but admit that I just couldn't adapt to the control system. I maintain that the 3DS hardware was a bad match for it though (the triggers and buttons made my hand so cramped).

But the game I genuinely enjoyed the least that I paid money for last gen was Fallout 3 for the PS3. Not my type of game and the controls were horrible, I assume it wasn't so laggy on PC/360? I only put a couple hours into it before returning. Same deal with MGS4 but the reason for return was that I hadn't played the previous games (at the time) so I can't really hold that against it.

Edit: How could I forget Pokemon Platinum? Holy crap idk how I actually beat the Elite 4, I must have been bored out of my mind. Possibly exaggerated due to the contrast after playing HeartGold.
 
I actually liked FFXIII and Other M...but this is the worst game I have ever played. Half surprised it wasn't made by LJN:

I know the Wii U isn't 7th gen, but people sure as hell treat it like it isn't "current gen" either.

But literally the worst purchase I've made in years was Sonic: Lost World. I've never been so pissed off I bought a game, until I bought that.
 
Wow OP, it's like you read my mind. I still almost feel cheated for having paid $50 on Far Cry Vengeance despite it being years ago since I bought it! It looks even worse than I remember it!
 
Prince of Persia 2008 - Terrible combat, wrapped up in no-fail platforming consisting of climbing 5 million things and collecting all this shit.

LA Noire - Had promise, but literally failed to deliver at all facets of the game. Interrogations, detective work, shooting, open-world, characters/narrative

This is mine as well. I bought the "game of the year" edition on PSN. When your character model is so poorly designed it makes people quit your game, you should be fired. Why the heck are the protagonists arms like a foot long?

Edit: FF13 really disappointed me as well. As a huge FF fan (my first RPG was ff2) this game devastated. It's the only non MMO entry I haven't finished besides 3.

A friend of mine sold me on the game. I had never before purchased a brand new game at launch based only on a recommendation and I never will again.

The bastard sold his copy back within a week, but last Christmas we did a Secret Santa and when I pulled his name, I knew exactly what to get him.
 
I bought most of the DBZ games on 360. I don't know why since every game is essentially the same. Same fighting mechs, same graphics, same characters and same moves. Lol I have no idea why I expected anything else. Ever. So theres money not well spent.

As for worst game; it's Two Worlds. Hooooolllyyyy shit that game was bad on 360. I had never returned a game on the same day I bought it until then, and I haven't since. What a giant load of poop.

The trailer, and the voices of both Will Arnett and NPH sold me... but, ugh... So terrible. I got the Plat in it for the sake of getting a Platinum trophy (competing in counts against a friend of mine), but... I'll never get the time or money back.

Does the Wii count? Because that's my absolutley biggest regret of last gen.

From a full retail point of view, probably GTAIV (X360). Got this day one, $100, and hated just about everything about the game, from the boring city, crap story, missions etc

Standard pricing would be a tie between Bayonetta (PS3) and Shadows of the Damned (PS3), got both based off postive views on GAF, but I must be missing something serious here, got about half an hour in to each of them, and turned it off in disgust. I really need to either give them both another go, or trade them away.

Download award goes to Limbo by a long way, really disappointing for me.

Fun fact : I actually 100% the game just to get the last character, who was a game exclusive Arrancar called Sōkyoku which I never used since I could not stand the game for one more minute.

Probably this. I imported a Japanese Wii early on last gen when I was in my huge anime-obsessed phase, and I got this game with it. I paid a pretty penny for a pretty shitty game.

Luckily, the first two Bleach games on the DS were amazing.

Same except I finished it but will never touch it again, after the Jak series this game just felt bland. Also platforming in Uncharted games is horrible which is surprising when ND went through both PS1 and PS2 making I believe to be good platformers that felt right.

God, I regret buying this game. Terrible controls, predictable story, and an image quality that of Vasoline, I finished the game and promptly traded it in post haste. Definitely not surprised with it being one of the worst selling Zelda titles.

You're not a missing a thing, believe me. Actually it just keeps getting worse. Give Uncharted 2 a go, though, if you haven't already. I have no idea how it got 96 ( or something like that, even 90 is a stretch, IMO) on metacritic, but at the same it's one of the best sequels ever and a great game.

uh...Uncharted 2 is excellent and all, but fundamentally its the same type of game as UC1. UC1 can't be trash and unplayable and 2 be fantastic. The core of it is the same lol. Unless the story really matters to you.

I've desperately been wanting a decent portable snowboard game for years now, but it just hasn't happened.
 
Black Ops 2 on PC. I bought it on Steam, figured it had been a few year since I'd played COD and people were saying this one was good.

I thought hell, no time like the present, and seeing as how I hadn't played a COD on PC before, I was excited.

Made it about 90 minutes into the campaign before getting bored. Played about 20 minutes of multiplayer before getting bored, and then played about an hour of the Zombies mode before becoming bored.

I don't think it's a BAD game per say, I guess I'm just not into COD anymore. Crazy, because when I played COD2 on 360 I thought it was one of the best games I'd ever played. And I liked the first modern warfare, but now the series does nothing for me.

Skyrim asides from the massive problems the PS3 version had, the game world, characters, etc was boring as hell. I felt incredibly ripped of because I bought this broken POS for full price.

Fuck this game. Fuck everything about it. I was so hyped for it. And it is hands down the biggest disappointment for me this gen. Terrible story, only 4 hours. Not to mention I bought the collectors edition of it, the USB broke after one use. And to really add a cherry to the shit sundae, I did this.

Because I lost all my old VHS copies of the movies when I moved houses, and my DVD's of 2 and 3 where in terrible condition, and the blu ray set didn't come out yet. It was the only thing I had that was in pristine condition.
 
Probably JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle. I really wasn't expecting an amazing game or anything, but it was just a terrible game. Framerate was really bad, the actual game was broken (Valentine had an infinite that was just walk, 2A over and over), the netcode was bad, and the story mode was just a series of CPU matches with a text dump in front of them. I don't play fighters for story modes, but I would expect CC2 to do something cool there after hearing so much about their Naruto games.

I have a feeling I've played worse, but the fact that I paid to import it day one makes ASB really stick out to me. I cannot recommend this game to anyone, not even a JoJo's fan.
 
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. The super-only kills system is the dumbest thing I've ever seen put in a game. None of this hits feel satisfying, it doesn't have the fun platforming of a fighting game that's clearly largely inspired by platformers, and the roster is god awful. I only paid $20 for this thing, too. But man, just, easily my most hated game this generation. Just so bad.

Though it would have been SimCity but fortunately I could kind of see the coming train wreck from the demo and never bought it. Most disappointing product in gaming history.
 
It wasn't really a bad game, but probably Dead or Alive 5. They screwed us over releasing a new edition the following year. Shoulda gotten Tekken Tag 2 instead
