Michel Ancel told me he preferred the GameCube version, saying that he was able to take the engine built on the PS2 and basically do an effortless port to GC (don't ask me how they did this) that jumped from 30fps on PS2 to 60fps on GC. He loves the GC. He said the Xbox version took a lot more work to get up and running, which I found surprising, considering the GC and Xbox share a lot more in common than the PS2 and GC do. I haven't done side-by-side comparisons, though, so I don't actually know which is better between the Xbox and GC. But either of those are superior to the PS2, graphically.
