What's the most advanced arcade hardware nowadays?

It seems to me arcade boards are far behind consumer console/PC hardware. Gone are the days when arcades were like two generations ahead (see Model 3 in 1996). Even the days when there was parity seem gone.

Case in point, the most advanced Sega board i can find information about is the ALLS MX2.1

But this version of the hardware still only has an 8th gen i5 CPU and a GTX 1660 GPU. That's below minimum requirements for any modern PC game nowadays and only slightly better than a PS4 pro.

But it's difficult to find such information for later arcade releases. Maybe i'm missing something? Are there more powerful arcades i don't know about?

Arcades still exist?

You can emulate modern Arcade games on pretty modest hardware, Teknoparrot - Mario Kart Arcade GP GX is great for a blast at home, people have made some really cool multiplayer cabs with racing wheels, pedals and seats so it's just like an arcade machine, you can even emulate the bananapass card to save your unlocks etc.

Right here OP

Arcade hardware went from custom cutting edge to being mid-range PC's at best and they stick with them for a long time too nkarafo nkarafo

But atleast its decent hardware. Even more antique are touchscreen based machines that you would often find in bar's (And one size parameter is called a bar-top by design). We are talking very low end stuff here - The most modern stuff runs on a Radeon HD 6320 - Yes, that old.

For some reason there have been numerous manufacturers of this and the games could be upgraded with new software - So stuff that ran on Pentium 4 and Extreme Graphics 2, you know, that dogstuff from 2002-2003 - It had games till 2013 or such. Pretty amazing.
