What's the word on backwards compatibility?

Finals week here for me, so i'm a bit out of the loop with all these announcements. Has anything been confirmed on playing this gens games on next gen systems?

I'm assuming PS3 will, what about Xbox 360? It seems like it's coming so soon. I can't help but feel I'll still be playing Xbox games, but not if I have to keep both systems around.

Revolution too, the system makes it look like a no, but has anything been confirmed?

Sorry if it's obvious, like I said, i've been pretty busy these past few days.

Revolution has been confirmed to be baclwards compatible many times with the GameCube. Also, it's will basically offer Nintenod' entire pre-Rev lineup dor DL through Big N's online service.

MEGATON!

Revolution = all GCN games on disc, likely many pre-GCN games as downloads
PS3 = all PS1 and PS2 games
X360 = some XBox games

Thanks, good news all around. Nice not having to keep older systems around, my set up at home is packed as it is. :D

That limited thing with the 360 is a little meh, but maybe i'll get lucky with the games I plan on playing. I'll probably keep everything around anyway, but I have limited space while at school.

Ugh, MS has to go the half assed route with their console again. Last time, it was the PS2 that had DVD playback out of the box and with the Xbox you had to buy a $30 controller. Now the PS3 and Rev have full backwards compatability and Xbox 360 has only select backwards compatability.

Don't sell your Xbox just yet; X360 has limited backwards compatibility - only with selected top-selling titles. (using software emulation)

This is exactly what I expected, if anything. Knowing the technical and legal hurdles they are facing, it's a bonus to get BC at all. If they can get both Halo's working with Live support, they pretty much have what the mainstream gamers will want.

So how does one determine which said games work in BC?

Is there going to be a list somewhere?

You spray/paint the name of the title you want on J Allard's car or house. They have dictated the format of the message to be:

" Insert name of Xbox1 title here BC, Bitch!"

for best results, do the same on Bill Gates' properties.

(seriously, I don't know)
