What's with fake spinners on wheels?

they're gay, and easily identified as fakes. if you don't have the cash to splurge on the real ones, then please, don't spring for the fakes. especially if you're driving a 94 maxima.

LOL, I saw a guy with them on only the front tires of an 86 Camry. I don't know what's worse:

1) you're stupid enough to put fake spinners on a car
2) that the car is an 86
3) That they are obviously fake
4) That they're only on the front tires

I saw a carbon-fiber hood on a late 80s' Galant. Do you know how hard it is to NOT laugh in someone's face?

In So Cal, if you want to front like a straight G, it's all about:

fake spinners on low-profile whitewalls
spacers to make the tires stick out
metal flake paint, purple or teal
really crappy tint job with bubbles in it
a laker flag in the window
the weinerschnitzel hot dog guy hanging to the antenna
about a $13,000 stereo system
Zapp in the cd player at mind shattering decibels.

Oh, and either a sticker of the lowrider logo, or your last name in white old english.

tedtropy

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
My favorite is when I see a late 80's mini-van with a set of those where the actual 'spinning' part has fallen off one or two of the faux-rims.

On a side note, I actually witnessed one of the hubcaps fly off my older car mid-driving at about 60MPH. It was the pimpest thing EVER.

Over here in upstate South Carolina, I saw a pimped out '81 Olds with "Praise the Lowered" written in light purple Old English script across the back window. You know you love it.

Hail to the KING baby
Once in Phoenix, my friend and I were driving behind this guy who was going literally 5 MPH on a busy main street, when we finally got around him, we saw that he had a plate on the side of his car that said "Slow Lane" in Old English lettering and I thought, hey, at least the "Slow Lane" stuff is more than just talk.

i dont think any of you can beat the car in baton rouge here.

its an old caddilac or something like that. With a spray can green paint job. Fake spinner hubcaps. It had blinds on the windows, and worst of all......drumroll please..........A FREAKING CHANDELIER hanging from the interior. Beat that!

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
The funniest spinners are those hubcap ones with the little propellers. :lol I see those often.

awww man, how can i forget this one car for this little high school kid that lives next to my sister. His is actually covered in dollar bills patterned over the whole car underneath a clear coat. I'm pretty sure its real dollar bills too.

Either that, or something that says like "CIVIC SLAYER" on it, with the wet-fart muffler, which I completely forgot about.

Yeah what makes them fake compared to real ones?

I'm so glad I don't have any friends that drive said cars.

Totally unrelated (or at least sort of):

There was a man who lived near here for many years, and he drove a 75 Ford Ranchero, which is not a pretty vehicle. Anyway, he would paint it about every month or so... with a house brush. The car was easy to spot, as it was always painted with very loud colors, usually neon variants of green or blue, and he would write words on the sides and whatnot.

At one point he had the car painted hot pink, with hearts painted on the hubcaps, and the words LOVE MACHINE written on the sides diagonally. Awesomest car ever.

My friend sent me the antenna topper in the mail. She got it from disneyworld, so I don't know if you can buy it online.

Rims are overrated in general

That I don't agree with...it's amazing what a good looking set of rims can do to the looks of a car. For a simple example, a rally car looks five times better with tarmac rims then it does with gravel rims (and it looks twenty times better then the snow rims). Having said that, I've got no time for the vast majority of the import/spinning type shit.

The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
As much as I advocate tolerance for people in regards to folks who customizes cars (that shouldn't be customized in some opinions) I draw the f'n line at those ugly as spinners with the damn piece spinning on the OUTSIDE... I think it looks incredibly stupid.

DaCocoBrova

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
Chrome is a lot more malleable as well. Anyone that has had 17"+ chrome rims can vouche for that. Awful for cold climate winters as well.

Even real deal Giovonni rims are wack to me now.

I think fake spinners should be used as a code to see who should be euthanized from the human race. Similar to the From Justin to Kelly project that went over astoundingly well.

That being said I liked spinners when they were

1. Done right
2. A novelity

Phx has to have have the second highest amount of spinners/capita. I mean I've seen old white guys (we are talkin 50 to 65) in Caddy SUVs with 23 and 24 inch spinners on their rides.

I'm not really fond of the ostentatious nature of spinners but, if they are done right (i.e. Davins) then I don't have a problem with them so much but, if they are the cheapies then I tend to turn my head.

I never realized just how expensive spinners were. Positively astounding, and not in a good way.

Those are REAL spinners not chump ones. I don't see the problem people will spend that kind of money on a watch. If you have it to spend I say go for it. I'm sure you can find some for less but, if I were to put spinners on a car those would be the only ones I would get.

See there are several problems with that pic.

1. There is way too much space in the wheel well. He should have lowered the truck a bit. It still shows the cars off road leanings and not the city leanings he was "attempting" to do.

2. (or #1) those rims spinners or not are not appropriate for that truck they are too gaudy. He should have went with another type of rim.

3. The truck itself is bland and the goldish pinstripes and Jeep emblem take away from the car. He should had debaged it. To have a simple black/chrome look.

For what he spent he would have been better off getting this Jeep Cherokee on 26's

Here is a simpler and better looking one and more to what this chump should have done.

I hate spinners! It just sends me the message "Hey, I'm trying too hard to be cool by pimping out my car. See! The wheels are spinning! Round and round and round..."

Hydrolics, nitro boosters, 20 foot spoilers, tinted windows beyond legal limit were enough, neon underlights.
