Dante is in this!? As a DMC fan, this is gold. I would get it just for the DMC. BTW, this is probably the first time a DMC character has made it into a Capcom fighting game, yes?

100 dollars he is a color swap of Soki from TvsC

:P

are in-game character models? Huh? That twitter post saying the art I see for the game is from in-game models....are they referring to this?

oh i hope so, those look awesoooome. :D

In its current state of production there are around 30 combatants in the game (...) Capcom is still hard at work trying to squeeze in as many characters as possible before the tentative ship date, so there's no word yet on what the final total might be and whether it'll rival the over 50 playable fighters in MvC2. Expect a number of characters to return along with others who have yet to appear in the franchise.

So... One of the two articles is wrong. Kotaku or IGN...

Actually those guys took it back closer (and past) the Kane/Finger version of Batman then he had been in a long while during the Silver and Bronze Age.

If Liefeld created comics, and his comics are bad, then yeah he is a horrible creator. Now he isnt the devil like some people made him out to be and he wasnt the only person to make a bad comic during the 90s but just cause he was popular doesnt mean he is a good creator. Frankly, his shit sucked and he has never improved.

Well if that's the case, then I find it really hypocritical (and ironic) that most people who go bananas over Deadpool (and his other creations) are the same keyboard tough guys who jump at every chance to roast him. Deadpool has evolved, but not THAT much -- he's only changed inasmuch as most comic book characters do, after other writers have had the chance to explore new avenues with the character.

Anyone else see Moonknight second from the left on the Marvel side? And I think the far left is Captain America, but it also looks like it could be Punisher, too.

For me personally, there's only a handful of characters that I really want in the game. Spider-man, Wolverine, Deadpool (love to hate him), Venom (or another good SM villain like Green Goblin), Viewtiful Joe (pretty sure that's him on the far left of the capcom image). Most of these except Venom are a sure thing, so I can finally have my dream team of Spider-man and Viewtiful Joe!

Also, are they bringing back 3-man teams, or is it gonna be 2-man teams like TvC?

So basically an entirely different character from the generic ripoff of a DC villian that he was. And Batman is like that how? Did Kane/Finger rip someone off? I'd much rather read early Batman than Liefeld's stuff.

And this is kinda off topic.

I seriously doubt they can. They may use the models, but the rendering certainly isn't the same. Here are two 720p in-game screenshots from the trailer:

They mentioned in an interview that the trailer uses the in-game models but uses a different "cinematic" effect. They're still working on the actual shaders.

i love nate grey. hes one of my favorite comic characters to date, on the other hand, i canty stand jeph loeb. he had merit at one point, but to me it feels as though he should have retired years ago. i dont think its hypocritical to dislike the creator while liking they creation. that and both deadpool and x-man have been out of their respective creators hands for a good while.

Dude, I didn't even consider Phoenix Wright. It'd be AMAZING if he made it.

from street fighter i would honestly want 5 charecters

ryu
chun
cammy
bison
zangief

sub zangief or bison out for other sf charecters like hugo or viper or something random

You can't have Ryu without Ken.
Cammy and Chun-Li are good options.
Screw Bison and Zangief -- I'd rather have Vega.
Seeing new characters from (S)SF4 would be nice too... like Juri/C. Viper, though I'm not (yet) a user of either.

After MvC2, 30 characters seems like a low number. They are probably going to pull another Super Street Fighter on us and update the roster a year later.

Having said that, these are who I hope will make the cut, aside from the more obvious ones like Chun-Li and the ones that pretty much have to make the cut for it to feel like MvC (I'm referring to Jin, Strider and Captain Commando).

Capcom - Falcon (Power Stone), Regina (Dino Crisis), Wesker (Resident Evil), Samanosuke (Onimusha), Joe (Viewtiful Joe), Haggar (Final Fight), Lynn Kurosawa (AvP), Dante or Trish (Devil May Cry)

Marvel - The Fantastic Four (I don't want Super Skrull damn it!), Silver Surfer, Punisher, Hawkeye, Daredevil, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Charles Xavier, Kingpin

I suppose it's too early to ask whether Capcom has announced or indicated that a PC version is coming? Using MT Framework I'd like to think the chances are good.
Every retail PS360 game from Capcom has had a PC port later, I don't see why they would stop now.

after the silence and final announcement of super sf4 i'd say that they are certain at this point.

that is seriously a great line up.

i say that all the time. he should have taken a sabbatical, then come back when he felt up to standard. instead we got shit like ultimatum and red hulk out of him.

The trailer looks pretty dark and serious, hopefully it'll be lighter in tone with the final game and hopefully they go for 90s era marvel that everyone loves

There aren't going to be licensing issues with regards to SpiderMan/Activision right? That would probably break my brain.

Capcom has the Marvel fighting game license. Activision's Spiderman license does not conflict with it.

The only change I'd make is probably Nova for Silver Surfer, though I'd prefer to have both :D

I'm really excited about this as MvC2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I'm not concerned about the roster sizes so much since as others have said MvC2 only had that many because it was basically cut n' paste from all the other games.

My only real fear is that they will pull a Soul Calibur where certain characters are only on 360 or PS3, then either force you to buy both or put out DLC with the missing characters in it. I don't care for that practice. DLC roster expansions are fine, as long as the game is the same on both platforms and I don't have to pick a version based on which characters I like the most. Normally I wouldn't worry about this but this property is so hot they know they could probably get away with it.

Also, Rad Spencer would be a fantastic addition for me. I'm a huge BC fan. The Bionic Commando vs. Omega Red: Think of the possibilities.

While we're doing wish-lists I'll just say that I really hope they include either Yukimura or Masamune from Sengoku Basara.

marvel vs capcom and tatsunoko vs capcom say hi
how can they be talking after being buried in the ground?

SF is stupid because you could toss in like forty characters and not be done. And it's obnoxious because they all have their place. It just wouldn't be the same game without at least Ken/Akuma/Dan.

But it doesn't really matter, I would be disappointed if the game didn't retain Charlie. So I guess I have now till whenever to deal with it.

Don't worry, Capcom would never do that. Not when they could just charge for both extra characters on both consoles.

Im thinking Rad Spencer is in. And as someone pointed out earlier, he could very well be the guy in the capcom logo that everyone`s assuming to be Wesker/Dante, i just hope its not.
