They announced Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2 on two random January weeks last year, and there's nothing beyond DR2 and Monster Hunter 3rd, so it wouldn't be surprising if at least two of them are major titles, we'll see.
By the way, the marvel guy is crazy, might as well just say "FILL IN THE BRACKETS: Marvel VS_Capcom 3!!!"

They have already basically used all the old Marvel series assets for MvC2. i rather take a good balancing approach over masses of characters.
they don't have the time to animate dozens of them anyway, they could only recycle SF IV.

The Marvel sprites in MvC2 are all based on 90s character designs, most of which haven't been used in comics for years. I have a hard time believing that Marvel would approve anything that half-assed.
...however, I can't see this staying strictly 2D unless it's a half-assed rehash. Capcom is almost certainly not going to draw new, hi-res sprites for such a large number of characters; 2.5D is the future of their fighting games, like it or not.

At least in character count I think it'll be closer to the first. Unless this is a rom dump it'll be using all new (or mostly new if they go with the TVC engine) characters and I doubt it'll exceed what was in MVC2. Also, those games had a LOT of X-Men characters because Capcom made several games before with those characters. I doubt you'll see say, Marrow in this.

Nope. I said a while back that I hope they bring back actual franchise locales and at least something like TvC regarding Story (winquotes and ending). It'd be awesome if they took a SFIV approach and had a really robust 1P experience too.
